We didn't make it last time... let's see what happens if we try to Return to the Arctic. Driving and winter camping an old 1996 Ford F350 7.3 Powerstroke Diesel truck 2,000 miles up to the Arctic Ocean with the coldest weather I've ever experienced... what could happen? This is Episode 4 of the Return to the Arctic series.

I’ve been coming to Alaska for about 14 years to visit my son, and to hunt and fish. Eight years ago we bought our cabin at Big Lake with intention of spending two months a year up here, and the rest of the year at our house in AZ.. We fell so in love with AK that we sold the home in AZ. Unfortunately my health as taken a turn for the worst, with very advanced prostate cancer, and now last week I had a stroke, the Drs then discovered my heart is not functioning very well. I’m doing pretty good, still snowmachining, and staying active. I can’t do what I used to do so I really look forward to your videos. It’s like still doing the things I enjoy while sitting in my recliner. Keep doing the things you love Tim, you never know when you won’t be able to.
I will pray for you that you may live another 100 years for you never know. Blessings.
So sorry your health has turned. I pray Jesus can put his healing hands on you and keeps you active.
I've got multiple myeloma in the early stages and the fatigue is so frustrating and to keep active and do what you enjoy is so important. 🙏 🤲
Praying for you. Such a great comment

As everyone else says....NOT a FAIL but an experience AND adventure - we are living vicariously through your travels and for most of us going that far north is just never going to happen!! WE LOVE everything you do and please do NOT consider this a FAIL..... every time you go its a learning curve!! Next time Im sure you will have crossed all t's and dotted all i's..... can't wait to see the vid!! PS if you ever get back to Cataloochi I live in Maggie Valley.... would so LOVE a coffee and chat!! I lost my son (he was 22 when he was killed in a horrific car accident) and you remind me so much of him!! Stay safe young man!! God Bless
Exactly! I heard a wise man say there's no such thing as failing, you tried and produced a result, there's no fail in that even if the result is t what you wanted.
God Bless You. You’ll see him again someday - just like I will with my own son. Take good care.
I commend you for having the intestinal fortitude to even attempt a trek like this by yourself! I can tell by your videos and explanation of why and how you do things like making sure you have a bottle of propane with you in case your truck doesn't start and your in a remote area where there is no one around. It's a risk but I get why you love it if I lived up there I would probably do it once a year depending on how expensive fuel is at the time. I appreciate you sharing your experience I am into adventures by ordinary hard working people!
An experience that could have deleted him this is the problem when your truck is not up to the job
Indeed all us deadend job people.....
You make Ford Trucks look amazing with what they can endure. Ford should send you a new truck to see how it holds up imo
I agree, it would be nice if Ford company could/would see your videos and possibly donate some parts for your travels. Be safe out there
I never comment. However, this is the perfect program to wind down after a long and busy day (my daughter was born today). I appreciate your adventures on the other side of the world very much, Timmy! All the best.
Awesome congrats!!!!
Congratulations!!!
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
@@baigpigpiglol would you want to sit around for 3 days for the possibility for the weather to chsnge without a guarantee? also the wear and tear on the truck idling for that long?
Congratulations, babies are so precious 👶
Nah man, this series and the previous attempt have been my favorite things to watch whether you succeed or not. In a weird way it almost doesn't add anything to the experience if you were to succeed. Seeing the blizzard, or the other obstacles that prevent you from reaching the goal are every bit as interesting
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
Thank goodness you’re alive! You didn’t fail…you gained new experience, and taught us all a lot along the way!
literally says Failed
I’d say that’s $75 well spent to keep you alive which is priceless. This has been the best series of videos you’ve ever done. Absolutely love it!
He is crying about staying alive. $75 is a small prce to pay when he makes a lot of money 💰 on TH-cam. He can shut the front door while his mamma whips his a$$
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
Better than any show on tv by far
LMFAO 🤣 🤣 he knows how to drive north then sleep then drive south he has made a mankind discovery. You should Wright a novel about himan compare him to Lewis & Clark so you can get him a noble peace prize
These videos sure make you appreciate our hard working truck drivers thru treacherous weather driving conditions ❤
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
I never thought I would enjoy watching someone driving around, but this show is just enthralling. I look forward to new episodes and enjoy every bit of it.
And Alaska is amazing! I live in Alabama... big difference.
Absolutely makes me die laughing when you say "CAN'T GO ANYWHERE!" Great video Timmy, love the series and I loved the last one too. Inspires me to get out and take advantage of the awesome place I call home.
That footage from the pass was incredible. Thanks for taking us along for the adventure. You definitely belong and are “part of the club” as you said 👍
Locking hubs while in Crocks in the Arctic Circle is a power move! Big fan.
Ford pu$$is. Cummins powered don't to worry about stupidness
I don’t now you do it it other than you were raised to be a good person but you are not boring at all. You’re like that cool friend who people never get bored listening to your stories. You’re not fake and your humility shows and that is refreshing. Nothing pretentious about your show so to me that is why you are successful with your channel! Thank you again for all the time you take to show this couch champion a slice of your life up North. 😊
Well said
Lots of nomads on wheels have the humility and other qualities u mention. It's refreshing, I live on the road too...however my home on wheels isn't quite as cool as his
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
You have friends all over because it is obvious what a nice guy you are. So glad you played it safe and didn't take the bike out! I was biting my nails watching you travel those roads. The sunset was amazing!! Thank you and safe travel my friend
I have huge respect for those truckers that do the driving through that terrible weather just to get our goods to us ❤ Your videos are amazing, definitely not a fail! what an adventure, love love love your videos!
I’ve been waiting for this video to drop. I’m out of work and in poor health. Feeling very depressed. I’m living vicariously through you. Keep those videos coming.
I hope you get better.
Hang in there. Don't give up. Keep up the good fight. Things will get better. Pray to Jesus to help you.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Well sorry about your luck cause this guy is reverse chemo
You're not alone! I understand. Keep fighting 😊
Hi Tim you are terrific! 👍✌️! MotorRod68 hope you start feeling better✌️
I'm so impressed that the drone works in that bitter cold. Great pictures on trucks passing you on the highway. So true , it is the journey not just the destination that you usually remember.
"It's amazing how small the world is when you start travelling." Amen to that
Well done video Tim, don’t forget to check you oil every 12 hours of run/idle time, at low idle your engine can lose more then normal oil past the rings. Fun to watch, good job dude!!
Excellent trip Timmy, the Ford company should hire you as a spokesman, you have proven that term "FORD TOUGH" I am 76 years old, live in Alaska 76 years and drive a 1989 Ford F150 4x4 Lariat that I bought brand new. Can't wait to watch you snowboard the mtn. You know the winds are crazy when the snow is blowing sideways. Thanks for taking us along on this trip.
What's your mileage
The only problem with that argument is the engine is an International.
Absolutely! I had an F250 that was a problem child. This makes me want to buy an old Ford again. LOL!
Portuguese viewer here, love your videos, its not a fail when you go back home safely
$7.50 a gallon and am over here complaining about $3.26 Reg and $3.74 Diesel a gallon, Smh. These old fords are tough if you maintain them as supposed to. I enjoyed this immensely, Hopefully you are able to make it next time. Not making it is part of the adventure, i am glad you turned around for your safety. Alaska is God's wonderland. The nature and animals are mind blowing. Animals especially birds are bale to survive those -50+ degree weather? Wow its something to digest when a human like me cant even survive without clothes if its 30 degrees.
Guys don't forget to LIKE this video please
Even though we've never met, each time I watch one of your videos, it's like meeting up with an old friend. Safe travels, my friend
In 1954 my grandfather was in the Navy spying on the Russians from Alaska and my father was born in Kodiak. I’ll be bringing his ashes back there someday.
I'm sorry for your loss. We thank hin for his service May your father RIp.
"It's fricken negative whatever outside." Yup, that about sums it up.
Another of my favorite quotes from this episode: "It's amazing how small the world is if you just start traveling."
My wife and I drove up that road just beyond Coldfoot in 2001 in a truck camper. We turned back due to the rough road surface. Coodose to you for doing it solo in winter.
There's a couple company's out there that make a 35 gallon rear replacement tank and it really nice. With a 7.3 as well I believe I can go about 600 miles on the 2 tanks. Love the show! Good luck with all the travels
Timmy, i wouldn't worry too much about wet stacking. Semi's idle constantly. The 7.3 in your truck was used in ambulances, etc. that also never shut off.
Something you might want to consider is a hydronic diesel heater it will keep your engine warm and allow easy starts in cold and sip on fuel.
Keep on truckin!
Dude clearly doesn’t understand diesel. He thinks wet stacking means there gonna be field build up in the cylinders and then he just high idles all night for no reason and burns fuel unnecessarily. 😂
this guy is fucking with us lol, e drove 2000km and gave up cuz of 90$ in gas fees???? give me a fucking break bro
I just have to say, dude, you have a "SET" on you for even attempting this! -75 WC, I shivered watching this!
The landscape drone footage at about 41 min brought tears to my eyes
Your camper is built to last. Have had a Ford F150 as my daily driver for 23 years. Great combo.
Awe man seriously I just got here. You never give up. That's wat we love about you. My granddaughter is here with me watching. Stay safe is what we want.💕💕💕💕
🤨He literally gave up in this video
@@KillTheRevolutionlol for real. Dude just drives several days just to turn at twice. Maybe if he didn’t go at the worst possible time of the year just to show tough him and his truck is each time then maybe he’d make it to where wanted to go. And then he high idles all night like a dooface because he doesn’t actually understand what wet stacking is. Timmy a smart boy y’all. 😂
@Docstantinople are you that miserable of a person?
Damn it! I’ve been waiting since the last arctic series to see the artic ocean in the winter!
Whiteout madness! Glad to see Tim and Truck survive again.
Timmy, you’re the kind of guy that shows up to help friends move. Says a lot!
That drone shot of the sunset was spectacular.
Let’s see-great music, crazy extreme weather, amazing little towns, stunning scenery, fan meet-ups in the most unusual places, sketchy driving, scary low temperatures, great friends strangely in the area popping in, caribou and bacon cheeseburger with tots-who needs the ocean? You’ve been to the arctic! What an amazing opportunity for you and experience via TH-cam for us. Thank you, Timmy.
Love that truck Timmy! Thanks for the authentic adventures.
Awesome video as always Timmy. Your adventure to the Arctic ocean is such a epic adventure it's a bucket list item for everyone who's into overlanding and other outdoors events can wait to see your next adventure with the track bike. Thanks for letting us ride along with you on your adventures.
Timmy, I agree, Ford should sponsor you with a brand new diesel truck. Tell them you will see how tough the newer trucks are, lol
Timmy, that was an awesome trip though you didn’t make your complete destination, you made a bunch of people very happy by just being you. Thanks for taking us with you!
Get you a tiny little custom sticker/decal made, that say "check & tighten all!" and put it on the inside of your truck where you will see it often, it will always serve as a reminder so you don't lose something.
You made the best decision Tim !! Absolutely epic trip still. I have my 87 year young Mom watching with me and she is amazed 👍
You may have been tiny in high school but you are LARGE in your adventures and miles. Big Blue. BIG amounts of friends and community. Sweet Timmy!
Timmy, I have been worried all week that you would attempt something dangerous. So glad that you made the right decision. Safe travels. : )
Safe travels..your famous🙂
I want a Drone like yours. To see it flying in those winds chasing the truck is cool.
Pretty sure its a DJI maybe a Mini 3 or Mavic, I've got the Mini 3 and its great for stuff like this. Just be careful using it while driving, they are cracking down on youtubers to make an example for other FPV people. If you're the passenger its fine, and it has some automatic following modes but if they think its being operated manually or not within LOS they will start to be jerks so be careful. You'd think not a big deal so far from people but they dont care lol. I love the videos though, great shots and keep trying for the ocean, the attempts have been a blast to watch!
Hubbie and I look forward to each of your videos. The best and most creative on TH-cam! We all have our crosses to bare, looks like you've figured yours out and are on the other side. I was in my 40's before descovering mine and overcame them once I realized what was driving me. Good for you! As the old saying goes "keep on trucking" !!! Thank you many time over.
Thank you for making a really good decision not staying near the Arctic. Staying safe! It’s all good. You’re doing a really good job taking us along with you. Thank you. Take care
Man it’s amazing how that truck makes it back and forth all those miles in that cold of weather, you are very brave my man! Enjoyed the video.
Thank you for going and making the videos you did. More than half of us will NEVER be able to take such an adventure; however far or whatever you achieve, it is a dream to witness! Saftey first and thank you for taking us on your adventures!
You should make a video titled the 10 things Timmy can't live without. Crocs, More Crocs, Diesel Winter Anti-Freeze Gel, etc.
Liked your comment about your burly Viking friends, I'm icelandic, so my forefathers were Vikings, actually just returned three days ago from a trip to Iceland to visit where my ancestors lived. Definitely want to go to Alaska, your videos are such a pleasure to watch, thank you for sharing.
I absolutely LOVE the sound of the 7.3 turbo diesel… it soothes my soul! I can’t even imagine how it would make me feel to drive and listen to it for hours! And that hoodie is freaking sick too!
I have worked with boats a lot and sounds familiar to me ☺️
I broke my hip a few days ago and watching you on your adventures is the escape I need while I have to stay in bed. Thank you!
Hope you heal fast! Rest & enjoy
Wishing you quick healing!❤
Stop doing stupid things. I have torn knee but I'm still climbing tress providing for my family. You don't see me crying about it
They should make a programmer that has a pulse mode for idling. Low idle for a preset amount of time, then high idle for a few minutes. Love the show!!
As a 5th generation floridian, this looks like an alien planet. It's crazy. Thank you for bringing us along.
Thanks for not dropping F bombs every 5 words. Enjoying your work since your trip to Colorado.
You wouldn’t drive the 10 miles to complete the trip but you eat cereal taking about it for 5 hours, drop off some mail, get gas and talk, take pictures, buy hoodies… are you purposely not going?
Even stuck around to talk to his buddy…
It’s the journey, not the destination.
Pay attention to why he didn't.
I’m watching from sunny Los Angeles. I can’t believe how unbelievably tough Alaskans are!!!
Wow ! The landscape is so unreal we don’t have mountains to compare here in Australia 🇦🇺, being the oldest continent all our mountains eroded away thousands or millions of years ago , I guess I love the outback desert as much as you love your neck of the woods, not many people connect with the land anymore like we do ! Most people live in fantasy world all material crap 💩! I’m a crippled up old concretor but nothing better for the soul then the wide open spaces to breath life back into ya ! Keep the vids coming Timmy , really enjoying the insight into another corner of the world. Cheers 🍻
I used to love the videos but man you repeat yourself entirely too much, it gets annoying after a while
Your mom used to love you 😢
Hey Tim I just discovered your channel I'm hooked! I'm an older person who doesn't get out much and I'm in nyc So your travels are an escape for me Amazing what you do young man Thank you
Currently homeless due to a nasty breakup and doing it tough in a heat wave its been 40° for five days now. Your videos always lift my spirits, i hope i can travel like you one day mate. All the best ❤
Your videos help me escape my depression for awhile. Thank you!
The weather is sketchy even being in the truck. Out there for hours on the artic bike is definately a death wish. Smart decision.
Enjoying your videos. Thanks for helping me thru a quad rupture surgery rehab!
Wow so glad you called it and turned back. That is crazy how much diesel you went through. You are right its the ride the things you see along the way. Not worth taking risks that could cause you harm. Drive safe, enjoy all your videos.
Fail is a harsh term to put to that cancellation. Smart move is what it was
If you had tried to get to the ocean you would have definitely been lost. Unfortunate you didn't get to make it out but I really appreciate rolling with the punches and staying positive. Still a great adventure either way.
A 1kW generator would supply juice to your block heater and battery blanket for a fraction the cost. Just park out of the wind and consider a truck skirt to hold in the heat. Some people set up a type of blow torch to get heat to the engine etc. It's like a steel tube and you only run it for about 30 minutes under the engine. You can try it out when you go to Tuktoyaktuk next winter. Kanuck bucks are cheap.
We're in the corner of South Carolina just a few minutes from Georgia one way or North Carolina the other way. My husband and I are enjoying following your adventure on TH-cam. Years ago we'd thought of travel to Alaska, but both of us have health that couldn't tolerate it now. My mister was a fine mechanic back in the day and is taking everything about the diesel in, and explaining it to me like our old times and was coffee in hand silent, watching the diesel not starting in the bitter cold at your buddies house, and the loading on the flatbed. It was great to see him so interested again. We're amazed seeing the truck cabin you made keep you so warm and cozy. Dude, thank you so much for sharing this adventure and the music too! It is all about the journey indeed, and everyone you're meeting up there are just such cool folks! Safe travels and thanks again for sharing these real adventures.😊
So cold and can't see. I agree w/you man, stay safe. Thanks for sharing your adventures
No disappointments, at all. Epic what you've already travelled. Love to see it up that way, in the summer, too. Ty for the journey
You won Timmy! You gave it hell brother…twice now! Most mortal men(those of us in the lower 48😊), wouldn’t last two seconds in those conditions. You’re a beast man! Keep on truckin’ brother!
Those aerial shots at 41:53 were amazing!!
pro tip on the coffee my man....don't put it in the pour over right away, get a thermometer and wait for the water to cool to 190 or just below. Than pour it over the coffee....."optimal" extraction temp. Taste is noticeably different. When water is 200 or higher to much of stuff you don't want gets extracted....tastes thin and burnt.
u got a crazy and a care taking good friend,,,he hopped into the truck with all craziness & excitement and cleaned it before leaving,,,,,tells a lot about a good person
54 winters in Alaska. Gasoline engines are the only way to go in cold weather. You're still young Timmy, you'll figure it out !
The best road snack is Snyders Honey Mustard and Onion pretzel pieces!
Congrats ! That was an epic adventure. The sights are amazing. With the pickin’ from Forest and Matt, and your filming and edit skills, just wow. 👏👏🤙
Thanks Timmy, appreciate you taking us along.
You should get a sponsorship from Ford Trucks!
Goals and dreams, thanks for sharing your experience Tim!
Wow looking at the view of mountains and pink and purple skies. Amazing. Great videos
Hey Timmy, very much enjoy all your Videos! Thank You! I have been all over the Northern States in my younger years, hunt, fish, everything, everywhere!!!. Miss it all very much. I remember my 20's 30's and 40's like it was yesterday. Enjoy the times you get to spend on all the wonderful adventures. As you know, there will come a day. Never take anything for granted and if you have the opportunity, just do it! Things don't come around twice! Keep it up buddy, Enjoy Your Great Life!
Com on people. Timmy deserves more likes. He went through hell. More thumbs up. ❤❤❤❤❤
What an absolutely beautiful drive! Thanks for taking us along Tim!
Amazing adventure Tim, thank you for taking us along for the ride. Much love from Western WA- Olympic Peninsula❤. Our daughters boyfriend and his family are from Alaska. In fact his older brother works about 20miles from the Arctic Ocean. I’m impressed that your drone can withstand those frigid temps and love how you can program it to basically follow you (I’m assuming). It’s always scarier going down the mountain than up…look forward to your next adventure snowboarding down that mountain! Again, Thank YOU!!! Stay safe
Been watching your short videos for a couple of weeks or so. Watched this longer video tonight & really enjoyed your trip back down from Deadhorse. Thanks for letting me ride along in your adventure.
Not a fail, a sane decision in that weather. Amazing natural beauty up on top of the world, so thanks for taking us along.
Look at that sunset, beautiful! Beautiful country you are showing us. So happy to be able to come along with you from the comfort of our warm home in south Texas (Rio Grande Valley).
Dude!! 10 miles away!! I actually felt bad for you Timmy. What a fantastic show that I am totally invested in. Actually more than I thought due to my sense of sadness when “we “ didn’t make it. Next time for sure.
This 3rd video shows the most unbelievable scenery. I got tears in my eyes at the beauty! Thanks Tim
I just love your videos! I don't know how you do this in those temps😮. Glad you made the right choice and came back.
Awesome video Tim. Your drone footage is some of the best I have ever seen. Beautiful mountains and scenery. The comments from viewers are from the heart. You do have some great friends. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
I really like the part when You said; A trip is not about the Destination but more about the Journey! Thats 💯True in my opinion!⚡👍
i love this channel and another one that i watch so much because it shows me a whole world i would have never seen. like you see the pictures on the post cards and online, but it feels like looking at the alaskan mountains and such through a snowglobe. It doesn't feel real, it feels manacured. But this shows more of the daily ins-and-outs and the small parts of life in these parts of the world and all the little nuances and intricate beauty of those small interactions and different angles. It's very real and i really enjoy it. I look forward to new posts and and im so glad you've decided to put the work and effort into sharing this with all of us.
Man that drone footage is so beautiful and really makes your video so professional. Especially the sun between the mountains. Thanks bro for using your head and not taking the trip to ocean. Your exactly correct it the adventure getting there that's my favorite thing about watching your videos.
Awesome adventure and definitely the right call Timmy. I look forward to every video you put up and it is always an adventure, never a failure. Being in West Michigan near Lake Michigan the big lake can throw some curve balls in the weather but not near what you get in Alaska. Thank you for being safe and bringing us along for your adventures and daily life.
Great video Tim! You are Da Man for sure. Thanks for taking us along.
