Most people shouldn't have a Shih Tzuh. Especially if they think that they are going to be an easy lap dog.
Sure, they're a beautiful dog.......but grooming, socializing; not easy.
Tbh, I have never met a friend's Shih Tzu that was easy to get along with. At least from the beginning.
I currently have 2 Shih Tzu mixes & they are the friendliest, sweetest dogs I’ve ever had. They’re both very easy going & love everyone & all animals. I have friends with Shih Tzu’s & they have the same temperament. It’s all in how they’re raised.
I have a 3year old shihtzu but I never had a problem when it comes to socializing him. He's very friendly and cuddly to people he doesnt even know. I think each dogs behavior depends on how you train. 🙂
You make valid points. Shih Tzus require grooming and socialization, and they might not always be easy lap dogs. Building a strong bond takes time.
