I'm actually glad that Daisy is the one to kill Myrtle. The wife kills the mistress is so rarely done in books and movies. Daisy did not deserve to be treated by her brutish husband the way she was.
myrtle's face when she sees the car right in front of her, seeing her get hit, daisy screaming, them running her over. different seeing it then reading.
This moment killed everyone's "American Dream". Tom no longer had his affair, which meant he would just be back with Daisy permanently, and that meant Gatsby for sure wouldn't win Daisy back. Also, just like the top commentor said - my class asked our teacher to rewind this. They all just laughed.
I cant believe Gatsby's reaction to Tom! He was too calm and collected, in the novel he is enraged and looked like he "just killed a man". I am very underwhelmed with the acting in the film, except for Nick.
This is where Mercedes Benz radar guided cruise control, lane keeping assist, and Electronic Stability Programme combined with 4Matic four wheel all wheel drive and adaptive braking system would have been useful, Mercedes-Benz, the best or nothing!
wait a minute. I know that it was gatsby's car that hit myrtle but daisy was the one driving. they made that clear in the book and other movie. so did I miss something? or did they just not show that part?
@horizonatsea - Because... it's kinda obvious. Tom was having an affair with Myrtle while being married to Daisy. Gatsby wanted Daisy back. After Myrtle died, Tom went back with Daisy, and Gatsby could no longer get his dream, and kinda with Tom too. That's why. And if you're asking "Why?" in regard to the class laughing - it's because it was so poorly made and extremely fake.
of all the things this movie did wrong and right, they knocked the glasses idea out of the park. Fantastic placement
