Great work Anthony!! The other day got an alert of a video from West Coat Concrete. Was excited about it ,however when it started just some guy from SoCal trying to imitate you!!! He was a copycat!!!!!
I am a BIG fan of the double joints. Personally I like symmetrical designs and I think it gives the concrete a little bit of a extra design "wow" factor. Most importantly, the more joints you can get in this modern crap concrete the better. I personally do the double joints lines in all my designs at my own home. Fits well with the 1920s craftsman era. The only problem is you want it to look SUPER clean you have to work like crazy at a very specific time when the concrete is damn near about to get hard enough where it won't finish out anymore to get the intersection of the lines to be perfect and not distorted or have any "flash" pushing into any of the other lines. A little tip, if you ever want to do thin joints, especially to mimick old 1940s and earlier designs like diamond patterns in walk ways with the old school joints of 1/4" or even less but still have a real control joint that will let the concrete crack in the joint just joint everything with a heavy jointer. Then fill all the lines back up, and do it again in the same EXACT spots, and then fill them in again. Wait until the concrete is getting to "knee board hard" and joint it in the same exact spots with the small brass and then steel jointer. You will get a nice "decorative" style joint line that would look like it's not a true control joint but it really is. You have to have good finishers and depending on the complexity, a good number of them because you don't have much time when getting the small joints in.
Amazing wow. Ya ever use dye…I specced it on my sloped driveway..it went pear shaped. There was a colour difference in between pours…nightmare. Had it topped it resin in the end.
