The speed at which your mom processes each move & has countermoves for each thing is so impressive. Always a treat when Pia makes a channel appearance.
Yes. Sometimes Anna thinks in the same way - "just seeing" a somewhat obscure good move - but she probably needs more experience with more positions to get to the same level. It is impressive and mildly surprising when other GMs of similar rating can't do the same thing (Hammer, Nakamura).
@@BobbyFischer0000 I also would expect someone who has been juggling for decades to do some sweet juggling tricks, but it's still impressive when they do it. I would expect someone who has been powerlifting for 20 years to be able to lift a crazy amount of weight, but it's still impressive when they do it.
The little looks over her glasses as Anna to assure her that she is impressed with her game are super heart warming. Pia isnt over the top with any emotion, but you can definitely see that she adores her daughter, especially when talking about chess.
At this point, I don't even Care about the game. It's just so WONderful to see Anna and Pia enjoying each other's company, laughing, and reminding us how games/activities such as chess can span generations and keep us bonded. Full heart today !
It's interesting how Hammer and Pia had opposite opinions on whether kings centralised or castled was better once the queens were off the board. Hammer didn't like Anna's kingside castle and preferred her to stay centralised, but Pia was saying how the opponent's king in the middle was awkward. I suppose rook connection is more important than centralised kings, but it's best to have both?? This would mean black's situation was more awkward stuck on the back rank, but white could have been improved to castle the other way also to remain more centralised. Both GMs are right! Chess is complicated lol
I think one important point is also, that Hammer said, black must play Kc7 instead of Bc7. This would connect the rooks and leads to a centralized king. Instead Bc7 blocked the king from connecting rooks.
Go Pia! The video is adorable, especially the part of you having your mom trying to guess the great move that you made. It was fun seeing the both of you playing on adjacent boards. At a point or two of the livestream, you and your mom were both looking intently at your boards with pretty much the exact same expressions which was a sweet moment. By the way, a great game you played!
I really enjoyed this game analysis between you two - the energy between you & your Mom is so positive and free - Elvis himself would be jealous of how Cool you both are - life is good
Mandarin oranges are a citrus favorite. I can only locally buy canned or jarred. Still a favorite is blended with vanilla ice cream--that is like an orange cream or "orange Julius". I tried several times in orange Jello, but that's too sweet for me. Oh, chess. Go ahead, don't mind me.
You look wonderful! Congrats on the Olympiad and progress you're making! So inspiring to watch. You made me love chess. I loved Queens Gambit, I love your story even more
To answer your question at 1:15. For me it's because of the pips that are in there sometimes and when I bit on them it sends chills down my spine. Very good tasting fruit apart from that.
This is the first I've really had a chance to spend time with your Mom and I love her! I am sure she is deadly across the board...BUT SHE IS SO SWEET !!
I know nothing about chess and yet I am subscribed. Go figure. I just love how they have such talent about their passion. And the mother daughter relationship is so wonderful. Love it.
6:45 - I was so happy to see when you went ..... Pia did that, she is fighting another battle. Impressive, not only smart but also want her daughter to do well at the same time.
I love hearing Pia's utterances as she analyzes the board, specifically when Anna's opponent went Knight F6 (⁇) at 14:00 and Pia emitted a noise that I can only presume is Swedish for surprise: *“Ah...oyve!”* Other favorites phrases from this video: “Her rook is so without harmony” and after Anna moved her Queen to C2 at 5:02, *“Yeah, this is a very common move in a Queen's Gambit exchange variation. This is where a Queen **_belongs._** The Queen belongs on this diagonal looking at the King's side, looking at F5.”*
the complexity and speed of this conversation is leaving me in ave. Even thou I'm not a chess player, it is possible to understand most of the conversation (but it makes my head hurt)
I have enjoyed quite a few streams from Anna, where Pia live commented. I have never before noticed her use of the word "harmony", when commenting on a position. And one immediately understands what she means. Makes me want even more to have chess lectures by Pia.
The relationship between Anna and her parents seems super wholesome. It's something to treasure. At least in my case if I had to work side by side with my parents it would be terrible. I would be super intimidated on one side and on the other side they would be always super arsh and critical.
My father, when studying at Gregoriana univ. At Rome, knew a Baltic (Lithuanian) seminarist and nobleman who encountered grapes first time and ate them knife and fork, removing all the kernels. 70 ye 6:24 ars ago...
Let's Go Ladies. Pia's analysis is always so instructive. Thanks to Hammer the stream is following the entire team...it's great content. You should gift Hammer some tea...he's been doing amazing.
Lovely lovely video ❤ Thank you! Refreshing to see you less controlled and natural around your mom. I love the little mouth gesture on 15:47 , never seen that on you before 😂❤
Anna has an amazing relationship with her mother, so beautiful.
1000% Glad this is top comment. Also loved seeing Anna give Pia some time to think about the great move rook c3. :)

Yeah I love that they share their love of chess and love of each other so beautifully. I miss my mom so much.

Is it really? She’s been playing professionally for over 30 years.
@@BobbyFischer0000They didn't say it was surprising or shocking, they said it was impressive. Which it is.

@@GunNNife And what is impressive about a 30+ year chess professional being able to process chess positions? I wouldn’t expect anything less.

The pure JOY on Anna's face when she stumps her mom!! LOVE IT!!
The way you peeled and ate that mandarin caught me off guard
Yeah never seen that, I know it the way that you completely peel the mandarin :D
She's a savage 😂
lol yo she tore it up, to be fair she said she doesnt eat them often….
I saw this comment before I saw her eat the mandarin and still got caught off guard.
bruh I'm shook

It is a lot fun watching two passionate people discussing a game. Thank you both. Go mom and go Anna.
This has got to be the most wholesome video on the internet. Good chess game, positivity and fun puzzle to follow. Go Pia!
We stan Pia & Hammer support 👏👏👏👏the way Pia dissects the game is so beautiful & poetic. Great job Anna!
Pia is a master class player and commentator. She had the best move but is so humble she was hungry for finding an even better move

It was so impressive.. Hammer did a great job on stream too
If wishes were horses, you'd ride
Hammer is a fckin legend 👍🏻
I actually really disliked Hammer's general demeanor or way of presenting and that's why I didn't tune in

Lovely to have Pia in for the recap! She had a big smile at the board when your opponent resigned.
And Hammer did not like your handshake 😅

Always a pleasure to hear Pia's thoughts and ideas. What a duo!
Something pathologically primal about the way you are eating that mandarin!😂❤
it was probably because they were juicy and didnt want to get orange juice on her keyboard

This is the best. Pia should come back fo sho
