11:12 Funny enough, this is, in part, why dealing with SCP's is significantly different from dealing with most other situations calling for this level of force. Most SCP threats, if they are a ranged threat, will probably be able to kill you in spite of cover (it's very uncommon to have to worry about bullets and the like when dealing with SCP's, and most with ranged options either can bypass or just burn through cover anyways). Many SCP's instead tend to be Melee threats rather than ranged, so despite how unsafe it appears, a wide, out in the open, formation with lots of clean sight lines is actually one of the safest formations for an MTF squad going in with little to no information like this one is, since you'll be able to spot potential threats coming faster and if there's any kind of ranged threat it'll probably kill you before you can react anyways.
9 missing persons mentioned in the briefing, 9 missing person posters in the woods, Scepter 1 is a 6 man team. Im pretty sure its about the 9 mentioned in briefing.
@@Zulu-yq6ef I mean the, "it would seem *we're* expected." line definitely implied it was their team and beyond that the shots around 10:11 show it's a 12 man team on this mission.
@@ElderonAnalas That line was referencing the fact that the posters were placed on their route in the middle of the woods. Furthermore, Scepter 1 is an all-male team, while some of the posters clearly depict women.
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread. This had a very Lovecraftian feel to it. The cultists had dug up a piece of an ancient religion that worshipped beings from other planes of existence. It drove them mad but separated them a bit from our reality. This is why they couldn't be seen except through the camera, and why they paid little attention to gravity. The tentacles at the end were from the being they worshipped. The holes were where the tentacles came out of the ground. Recommended read is 'The Dunwich Horror' by H. P. Lovecraft. you can see where this film received much of its inspiration.
Creative commons right? It basically says "any works you make under this IP are of public use and don't actually belong to you." in my layman's understanding. So, companies can't box it up and sell it for their own benefit, right?
@@ElderonAnalas The entire SCP wiki is under a Creative Commons BY-SA 3.0 license, which means that anyone can use SCP as a whole or any of its articles freely and for any purpose (including selling stuff derived from it) so long as the original source is appropriately attributed and any derivative works (anything based on SCP) is also released under that same Creative Commons license.
@@masonbarber871 right, but it also means, if like, a major movie studio wanted to do a movie on SCP, they wouldn't be able to keep people from also making their own sequel off their movie, or use things from it etc etc, because that multi-million dollar movie would also be forced to be under creative commons, so they couldn't hold the IP with a stranglehold

They did a kickstarter which amassed 20k+ and got a bunch of help, but this is a passion project of SCP fans, and you can feel it.
