Funnily, there’s a short film (actually a music video for The Shoes’ Time to Dance) starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a serial killer who murders hipsters at the end of which he literally regains his humanity by dancing
Excellent video! A few things: 1) I appreciate how you say "LaCroix". Even the game gets it wrong. As a fan of Forever Knight, I appreciate someone pronouncing it correctly. 2) In the first haven, the boards on the floor are used to cover the windows. Flimsy protection against a potential midday mishap. 3) I agree about Velvet's voice. I wish she had more voicelines. Hell, I wish there was an option just to have her narrate War and Peace or some similarly long text. 4) Gorgeous Gary Golden should have his own radio show alongside The Deb of Night. Along with VV, I could hear him talk all day. Anyway, appreciate the video, and look forward to other bits of content from you!
25:22 all these years I've never actually considered he might be a Cleopatra too. Now I'm starting to wonder how long it took him to get used to it and start thriving again 🤔 who knows, in a few decades maybe even Imalia might get over it and come into some real power. I doubt Gary would embrace someone just to teach them a lesson about vanity if he didn't think they'd have potential to become something more in time
That’s a really good point. The way I see it, Immalia’s embrace was purely punitive. Whether she reforms or not is up to her, Gary just wanted to teach her a lesson in humility
Love the fact that they re-wrote all dialog options for the Malkavian and made some crazy stuff happen. Also loved the radio and TV news. Lots onf ambient stuff that was very thought out.
3:30 "I don't see any curtains or blinds to prevent sunlight from getting in." There are literally boards over the windows to the far left, a couple more stacked against the wall below them, and a bunch in the middle of the floor. And yes, I've counted, there's enough to cover every window. :)
Love playing Malkavian and Tremere. For Malk, The dialogue is just 👌 At first it was hard to understand what the choices meant until I just read between the lines and it all made sense As for Tremere, its cuz of Thaumaturgy and Auspex. My first playthrough was Tremere (did the personality exam), 2nd is Malk, third as Toreador. That was all a decade ago. Then installed the game again 2 years ago and got Tremere again from the personality exam. Now I'm playing Brujah for my 5th playthrough.
I did only one Malk run back in the day and it was such a blast. Honestly, Tremere is low key the most powerful out of all the clans, at least from what I’ve played. It was actually the clan that I played when I made my first VTMB video a million years ago
It's one of those games that is damn awesome 75 percent of the time and then you reach the werewolf "fight", or that whole last section... However I haven't played through it in full while using the unofficial community patch thingy, so maybe it's going to be different next time around.
you should definitely use the patch or else you'll suffer. also a tip for the werewolf quest: either look up how to properly kill the werewolf and do that, or cheat yourself into godmode to survive (or both if you're like me lmao)
How did I not respond to this when it came out :o. On the Anarchs, I've said this before but I always found it really cool when I heard that they're not Anarchists as we think of them in the modern era. They're Anarchists in the old old sense, and in the context of being opposed to Monarchies (Camarilla being pro Monarchists/the Monarchy). We'd describe that as "Republicanism" these days. So yeah, makes sense they'd be unified toward that goal. Not to mention that LA was a former stronghold of theirs, while the Camarilla is still trying to exercise their power over the area.
I think the thing I love most about Bloodlines is that you can regain Humanity by dancing.

one of my absolute fav random bits about the game is fat larry's reaction to the nosferatu lmao

I AM IN BIG SUPIRSE TO SEE YOU HERE!!! HOPE YOU DOING WELL!!!
it's cool to know there are people out there like me, who play this game and really appreciate every little detail, it's just too good
Never managed to finish this game with my own hands, but I never tire of videos about it. Really is a special game.
The final act of the game is a slog so i’m not surprised you never finished it. Thanks for watching!

Yeah but what if the boards fall over???
3:28 The wooden panels are RIGHT there
Woops
I still remember the joy of completing The Elizabeth Dane the 'correct' way.

3:47 AKTHYUALLY if u have that trait, you can eat food. At least in tabletop.
Arthur Kilpatrick is voiced by John Grant Albrecht who voiced crypto in Destroy All Humans 1 and 2
"Becket [...] werewolf form" Oh no. What have you done.
Yep hahahah
17:26 he’s a malkavian

yeah community patch let you skip some stuff, but not everything...
The game is pretty much unplayable without patches. You should give it another spin with the unofficial patch

Interesting, i took their faction name in the most literal sense possible. It makes a lot more sense now
