Hello guys im about to buy a c3 for 700€ ( i work and i got reductions with my job ) and it’s 42 c3 oled lg i think ive made a good deal bcz i don’t want to spent more than 800€ for a tv
My first OLED TV was/is the 65" LG B8. I fell in love with it. It's still going strong over 5yrs later now. It's the TV that made me decide there's no going back to LCD, or any other technology. Recently, I decided to pick up a 42 or 48" OLED for mainly PC use. I ended up going with the 48" LG C3, basically because it was the same price as the 42". The B8 is still gorgeous...But, I can see the advancements. The C3 is definitely brighter and more punchy. The colors are just dead-on on either unit. Great TV imo. I wouldn't think of buying any other kind at this day/time. Cheers.
I ordered myself the 48" C3 because it's almost the same price as the 42" version. But I'm worrying that it will be too big on my desk. I play with controller exclusively on pc. How do you manage with your 48" model? Is it on your desk?
@@ZackZavage It probably is.. But I think the 42 would be as well. I've mine off to the side as a 3rd monitor. Works well enough for me. And the picture quality is 2nd to none
I've tried 65' 55' 50' as a monitor, and it is too big......the Best size is Unfortunately the defunct 38" and you can go max to 43" to get comfortable experience and acceptable PPI. Bigger than that is a NO to use it as a PC monitor. CONGRATS! Me after testing few sizes I just got 42" C3 and is perfect, the only minus is the 106 PPI instead having more like minimum 110PPI. Bigger the panel it gets the worst definition you get.

Funny, i get this same tv tomorrow. Gonna throw it on the used market asap. Have 65 C1 for the past 1.5yrs. Im more interested in mini led tv-s now because when watching youtube and spotify podcasts thr brightness is limited to 400nits max. Its just okay. Its been that way for 5+ years now with LG tv-s in the popular C-series. The G-series has a 50% increase, but for an extra 900€ cost. The prices get ridiciolous then when comparing against cheaper chinese mini-leds. Thats why Im more interested in mini-leds now. Brightness is the most important factor in pic quality. It makes the colors pop and highlights detail. I just wanted to say that after you say theres no going back. I took that personally :D
LG leaked C4 for next year, and it will have 144hz instead of 120hz so don't rush to buy a C3 or another OLED TV. if it was spring i'd say go for it, but now in mid December i'll say wait.
As far as I know, you can’t achieve more than 120@4K with hdmi 2.1, meaning there’s no use for 144 hz (yet)? Anyway, I have a 34 inch monitor which has become too small after I upgraded to a desk 90 cm deep. Is it as good playing on this format as a wide screen monitor?

I have a 55" Hisense U8G in my room and a 77" LG G3 in the living room. The OLED does get bright, but because it lacks a backlight, you don't get that punch when watching bright scenes that you get with backlit TVs. To make matters worse, they tie in brightness with contrast, so if I want to get that extra brightness, I have to put the contrast up, resulting in a high-contrast image. I want to swap my 55" for a 48" C3, but I can see from the video that it would be the same case as my G3 (lacks brightness).

Asus and Alienware have announced 32 4K 240hz OLED monitors, and Alienware will be QD-OLED. the thing is their prices will be higher than this C3 42" TV. the current LG OLED 42 costs $1,900. this is like buying a 65" 4K OLED TV. there are not many options in 4K OLED monitors so they put whatever the phuck they want as prices.
@@crzxm i don't see it comming anytime soon or ever. gamers bought the Alienware ultrawide OLED for $1,400 and it's 1440p and not 4K. people spent more for a 34" 1440p than a 42" 4K TV, and this monitor got sold out from pre-order. as long as people buy them the prices won't drop. and from a business perspective, when you see that people buy at these prices and they even get sold out, you won't sell yours for $800 or $700.
Last spring I put my Special Edition Cyberpunk XBox in storage and purchased a Series X . Been playing Fallout 4 , 76 , Battlefield and Elite Sniper 5 on it , with my 9 year old Visio 42 " Series M playing monitor . 2 weeks ago I bought a Seagate 2 TB SSD for the Xbox and moved all my games onto it , including a new download of Assassin's Creed Black Flag . I was really looking forward to seeing how the series X presented the game in contrast to my One X . But after it finished downloading , I was calibrating my TV for the game and the TV just went black . No power , no sound , no input response 😢 . I went on Amazon yesterday and ordered a 55" LG C3 ...I really hope it's everything every one says it is . The fact that it has gaming hardware built into it that my Visio never had , plus the 9 year gap in tech advancement has got me really stoked . Anyways , thanks for the great review 👍 .
Thanks for your video, I’m actually an owner of Samsung S90C and it does have the generation two panel. What are your thoughts on that one? I chose that over the LG C3 both were comparable prices.
I think both are incredible actually, I've tried both but I personally bought the 55" C3 for my living room months back as I preferred the UI and gaming settings. I think it comes down to preference however.
I've been debating buying this or a C4, G3 or G4 and am going with the newer model instead for a few hundred bucks more. Now just debating what size to buy...thanks
I only have one question that hasn't been addressed here : does this tv support upscaling ? I'm using the switch a lot so i'd better need a good upscaling tech to go from 1080p to 4K on a tv.
Thoughts? Would there be a significant difference if I switched from a 34-inch QLED Alienware monitor to a 32-inch model? I'm an avid gamer but also work from home in cybersecurity, and I greatly appreciate crisp text. Additionally, I use a dock with USB-C power, but I'm pondering whether the 34-inch screen really offers a substantial advantage in terms of productivity space.
Truthfully, I think any 4k would probably give you a bump over 3440x1440. Just by math alone , more pixels = more space. Also depends how you scale your desktop too. On my Mac I go straight 4k, windows I do 4k but scale like 125% if that makes sense. I used to exclusively use a 34" ultra wide too. I miss that 21:9 at time, I don't know why, but I truly get more out of 4k. I personally use either my 42" C3 OLED or LG's 4k 240hz OLED. you win either way tbh. Plus going from QLED to OLED will be sick. cheers!
This size gives you the 3.5mm headphone jack, is the audio quality differ when using that port compared to connecting headphones to the Xbox sX controller? I ask because I am planning on getting this tv but was going for a 55" but I do prefer smaller screen for gaming so would consider the 42" as well
As tempting as this is, I’m holding out for the glossy OLED monitors expected in 2024. Unfortunately TVs are missing out on PC features such as being able to mount to a monitor arm, one cable charge/display input thru thunderbolt, KVM device switching, and display wake from turning on computer My monitor is the last non-OLED display in my home, cant wait to OLED all the things. Really can’t go back
none of those are real issues. these are nitpicks. LG and Alienware will release 32" 4K 240hz OLED monitors so you don't have to wait for TV's. and the Alienware monitor is QD-OLED.
@SapiaNt0mata Exactly he might as well ask for it to also have DCI 100% REC 2020 100% oh, and 4k 240hz as well as for the TV to come in 27 inches while he was at it 😂
Honestly if you have the funds to do so that’s a fat upgrade when it comes to brightness. G3 does have that newer panel. I imagine you’re wall mounting? It’s all really depends on your area too. Image wise yeah it’ll be brighter but overall it’ll be largely the same apart from brightness I think personally. Maaaaaaybe holding out for the G4 to see what they’ve got going on may be the better move. The C1 is still a beast
@@MinimalisTech Maybe i'll wait the G4. Thank you so much for your advice! One last thing, I have the 03.36.50 update, unfortunately I can no longer display the hidden menu with 1113111. Do you know how to help me?

42’ c2 here. After optimizing and calibrating the tv to its max performance the picture looks great but I notice on certain games especially MW3, the picture looks grainy/dithering effect over blacks and certain colors. Not sure if it’s my tv or the developers but super annoying
I agree. I notice a grainy texture almost like you can see the pixels on certain camos on my weapons lbvs. Turned off film grain and still no change. Not sure if it’s the tv or the developers to blame
since this tv has its own bluetooth does that mean I can wirelessly connect my headphones to the tv when I play ps5 instead of plugging in aux to the controller? Sony has its own bluetooth paywall that comes with its new headsets.
im not sure if its the camera or your colors are complete off.. did you read up wahts the best settings for this tv? it seems way too dark liek your in energy saving mode or something.. i have a c3 too and it looks not so washed out.
finally got my first Oled😊. decided to get the c3 as is just a small price margin from the c2. cant resist to get the newer version😂.. and i was blown away especially when gaming😃😃😃
It's all done automatically done by LG, no need. It'll run a huge pixel cleaning at 2000 hours but small pixel cleaning when you have it on for a few hours.
OLED is not for desktop PC as a main monitor else as a secondary video display monitor only. Continually Self lit LEDs burning kills its lifespan as like a flash light. Just games or movies optimized.
Question I stream so I run my monitor in 1080 to help with fps Can this be used in Oled 1080p? Or am I forced to use a high resolution thus effecting Gpu output fps? If I run my current monitor in 1080 I get 70-80 frames. But if I run in 1440 I get 55ish So can I run in 1080 to get higher fps while streaming? Anyone?
If you do oled 4k 120hz never go back its good if you get it on sale my c3 42" was on sale 719€ here its worth If you have c1 or c2 its same C4 over price but do 144hz 😒 but not worth the price
yes but the c3 is locked at 120FPS only, a true gaming monitor can reach 500+ 120fps is on the outdated list! Also, If you want to do 2k gaming instead of 4k because of your PC build, issue arise when doing so (usually on the edges). if your running a 4000 series GPU, you will not be be able to push past 120 FPS but your video card can , making it a bottle neck
I really wish they would stop adding speakers to these TV’s. It just adds cost and bulk to the tv. Anyone who buys one of these without a proper sound system needs to be educated immediately.
They don't need to be educated as TV's generally come with built in speakers for convenience. Also I'm sure the people that actually make these TV's would know better than you when it comes to deciding what goes in and what doesn't go into there TV's

Expensive as well for a small TV but worth it
I've owned this TV as a gaming monitor for 6 months and still love it. Planning on getting a 32" OLED gaming monitor in the future.
32in 4K OLED monitor is what I'm waiting for too.
@@SapiaNt0mata I just saw that too. Perhaps in time the price will drop with competition.
@@SapiaNt0mata What ? where do you live ? the LG C3 42" is just $900 in the US
Hey there, would you mind letting me know of your desk's dimensions, please? Thank you for the video!
Ill have mine in 3 days tell me what you think of it ?
@netdisroll ...hey , I will , but I had to reorder .
Got a text from Amazon the next morning that my TV had shipped .
An >> hour
I want a curved ultrawide version and they could sell that to flight / space / race sim crowd so easy.
Looking to convert from monitor for call of duty with my PS5. Lag has been my only concern but it sounds like it’s not an issue with this TV.
So u buy this tv?
@@Yaasser1 absolutely. Been loving it for gaming. Had to get familiar with some settings if I wanted to tweak some stuff but overall… huge W!
@irish7611 any juddering/stuttering for movies or TV shows?
cant wait for mine to come however when you was driving in cyperpunk there was ghosting behind car?
Thanks for your video, I’m actually an owner of Samsung S90C and it does have the generation two panel. What are your thoughts on that one? I chose that over the LG C3 both were comparable prices.
I think both are incredible actually, I've tried both but I personally bought the 55" C3 for my living room months back as I preferred the UI and gaming settings. I think it comes down to preference however.
Samsung QD OLED is future proof 4K 144hz.... also QD OLED is better than normal OLED..
@@trumpameri1638but other things like motion processing, the OS are not as good as LG I would say. Also lack of Dolby vision.
How is it for desktop use? And how is the text clarity?
Thats what I want to know as well
GOT A 65 CS OLED THE PS5 LOOKS AWESOME
I've been debating buying this or a C4, G3 or G4 and am going with the newer model instead for a few hundred bucks more. Now just debating what size to buy...thanks
How many nits has the 42 model?
Plus going from QLED to OLED will be sick.
cheers!
Buy 2023 in 2024 makes perfect sense in tv land . Looks a great purchase
Games do 4k 120 hz now?
I bought it recently but I just realized this model apparently doesn't support 4 way zoom in the aspect ratio menu. Can anyone confirm?
You mentioned using bluetooth headphones for gaming. Does the tv kick you out of game mode when connecting the headphones like my LG C9?
If the main usage is financial spreadsheets, is this better than my curved ultrawide LG monitor (LG UltraGear 34GL750 led 34")???
This size gives you the 3.5mm headphone jack, is the audio quality differ when using that port compared to connecting headphones to the Xbox sX controller? I ask because I am planning on getting this tv but was going for a 55" but I do prefer smaller screen for gaming so would consider the 42" as well
As tempting as this is, I’m holding out for the glossy OLED monitors expected in 2024. Unfortunately TVs are missing out on PC features such as being able to mount to a monitor arm, one cable charge/display input thru thunderbolt, KVM device switching, and display wake from turning on computer
My monitor is the last non-OLED display in my home, cant wait to OLED all the things. Really can’t go back
U can get an arm for it for your desk, or even simpler just wall mount it
none of those are real issues. these are nitpicks. LG and Alienware will release 32" 4K 240hz OLED monitors so you don't have to wait for TV's. and the Alienware monitor is QD-OLED.
@SapiaNt0mata Exactly he might as well ask for it to also have DCI 100% REC 2020 100% oh, and 4k 240hz as well as for the TV to come in 27 inches while he was at it 😂
Cost will be crazy@@SapiaNt0mata
It able to mount with a 300x100
2:54 headphone jack? That's great.
Hi Minimalis, is it worth upgrading from LG C1 to G3?
I saw this tv is Wal mart was like dang wow, also we can not see it in its complete clarity here in this youtube video as I do not have a 4 k TV, and question! does it required a Dos Link to hook up it up to surround sound, such as a Sumung TV???
Bro,who is best?asus pg32ucdm or lg g4 for gaming on consoles?
do your eyes hurt from time to time being close to the monitor??
Do you know with the C3 and Xbox series x should we use the full rgb option?
42’ c2 here. After optimizing and calibrating the tv to its max performance the picture looks great but I notice on certain games especially MW3, the picture looks grainy/dithering effect over blacks and certain colors. Not sure if it’s my tv or the developers but super annoying
A lot of these games have film grain settings. Could check for that. I had to turn it down loads in Spider-Man 2.
I agree. I notice a grainy texture almost like you can see the pixels on certain camos on my weapons lbvs. Turned off film grain and still no change. Not sure if it’s the tv or the developers to blame
Does the 48 model have the DTS audio setting or just double digital?
It does
Just upgraded from a Samsung G40B 27 inch fhd 240hz monitor. Even the TV setup menu wowed me 😂
I'm legit crazy, I had a 48" LG C3 for my daily monitor and I was like is this too small, now I have the 55" and I love it.
How far back do you sit?
Wow,.. too big man 😂
What about the distance dude? You didn't mention if you ever felt like you're seeting too close to it
Did you turn on HDR in windows?
What do you do for color calibration?
how many nits of brightness does this monitor max?
It gets so dark during game mode 120fps how can i up the brightness
hi what brand is you light bar
RTINGS claims it has 2.7 inch clearance for soundbar on 77 inch model, not 2 and 1/4 inch?
Hmm maybe you’re right. My 55” in the living room is 2.25 maybe the 77 has even more space
Is it the picture settings you use or the camera you filmed with, or is the tv picture really that bland and dim?
I ordered this tv , as a monitor getting it for a good deal too
How much ghosting does it have while gaming?
did u see the cyperpunk driving😬😬
I get vertical grey lines in dark areas of the game when I increase the refresh rate above 60hz is this normal??
Is a 2023 LG OLED TV “worth it” in 2024? Nah, throw away that one year old piece of trash. 😂
Lol
Hahahahaha
I buy it 2024 on sale 600€
Nah you buy that makes perfect sense
these uninspired clickbait titles are fucking killing me at this point.
since this tv has its own bluetooth does that mean I can wirelessly connect my headphones to the tv when I play ps5 instead of plugging in aux to the controller? Sony has its own bluetooth paywall that comes with its new headsets.
Yes you can. I’ve done it many times. Depending on your earbuds or headset there may be latency though.
I’m looking to get three of these for my Microsoft 2020 flight simulator as a triple setup any views or advice is welcome 🙏
No KVM no 48w usb c charging... If it had it would have been a great alternative to the current gen oled monitors
Torn between this and the Sony x93l
im not sure if its the camera or your colors are complete off.. did you read up wahts the best settings for this tv? it seems way too dark liek your in energy saving mode or something.. i have a c3 too and it looks not so washed out.
is it still worth availing the Lg c2 since its on sale? or better getting the c3??
get c2

The lighting behind my desk is a light strip from Nanoleaf! - geni.us/LIGHTSTRIP-NANOLEAF
The light onto the TV is a BenQ halo - geni.us/BenQ-Halo
how often do i need to use the pixel cleaning?
Your TV will do pixel cleaning automaticaly each time you siwtch off
It's all done automatically done by LG, no need. It'll run a huge pixel cleaning at 2000 hours but small pixel cleaning when you have it on for a few hours.
thanks. for the reply i see the option also in the settings though@@_ATHENODOROS_

Waiting on the c4 read lg going to use new chips that will enhance gaming even more.
Same holding off an G3 for the C4 or G4, coming from an Lg C1 55" but gonna size up to an 77"
Why the video showing different kind of tvs?
OLED is not for desktop PC as a main monitor else as a secondary video display monitor only.
Continually Self lit LEDs burning kills its lifespan as like a flash light.
Just games or movies optimized.
What's the game at 4:03?
Ghost of Tsushima! Incredible game
Cool video bro 👍
Question I stream so I run my monitor in 1080 to help with fps
Can this be used in Oled 1080p? Or am I forced to use a high resolution thus effecting Gpu output fps?
If I run my current monitor in 1080 I get 70-80 frames.
But if I run in 1440 I get 55ish
So can I run in 1080 to get higher fps while streaming? Anyone?
Nevermind 4090 only option it seems
Perhaps G3 or C4 or G4?
I've been trying to get a G4 but they're not available in Canada. Ended up going with a Samsung S95D
@@MinimalisTech is it better than C3?
QD OLED S90C vs LG C3
Probably the Sony. But out of those 2 you mention they’re both pretty good. LG is ok.
Bap main? Based.
If you do oled 4k 120hz never go back its good if you get it on sale my c3 42" was on sale 719€ here its worth
If you have c1 or c2 its same
C4 over price but do 144hz 😒 but not worth the price
yo u might be a genius, now the tv is a tax right off
im gonna use my c3 42 incher until 2034, not just in 2024.
I have a c2 I think I will pass on the c3 and look at a C4.
Once you go 42" you can't downsize to 32" monitors. I'm still waiting for something to succeed my 42" C2 😂
Gotham knights and the upcoming suicide squad on the either PS 5 or Xbox series x
You forgot to tell us one thing. As a gamer we use headphone 🎧 for Gaming, wired mostly for low latency. So how does this TV help us?
I actually use a headset with this! The 42" specifically has a headphone jack, but as a console gamer it's easier to plug into my controller.
cheers.
yes but the c3 is locked at 120FPS only, a true gaming monitor can reach 500+
120fps is on the outdated list!
Also, If you want to do 2k gaming instead of 4k because of your PC build, issue arise when doing so (usually on the edges).
if your running a 4000 series GPU, you will not be be able to push past 120 FPS but your video card can , making it a bottle neck
My ps5 looks dim! I dont know why
It’s way too low bud. You’ll screw your neck and posture up, I promise you that much. Raise it up 🙌
why my mobile is more colere thsn the TV
Blink fan
Don’t touch the screen or it will become a worthless piece of trash that LG will not honor any semblance of a warranty. I know since this 42” Tv lasted 2 days and LG has determined that a light touch to the corner of the TV constitutes damage by the customer. 😠
then how will the guys mount on wall wdout touching the TVs
43" c3 is dimmer than it's bigger brothers. You should have reviewed 55" or bigger
no, its not worth it in 2024, you should definitely change TV every 6 months, duh...
