Being there sounds absolutely magical and this just reminds me how much I love them. And they look at each other with so much love and happiness in their eyes 🥺 i remember them talking about it feeling different and special too. I’m so excited to see them in august, I hope they don’t get too burnt out by then!

To think Gerard was at rock bottom in 2004, is crazy because he was so close into becoming a member of the “27 club”. I thank Brian, his band mates and just anyone who was there that helped Gerard out. And Im thankful he opened up to them and asked for help
Ew I’m tearing up 😂 because he has a support system and was there with him every step of the way, and encouraged him to stay alive.
I’ve been suicidal for about 2 years now, and I had cries of help before, my friends and few family members knew I performed self-harm on myself. I stayed home for almost 2 months straight, I wouldn’t even go outside. I because isolated, and indifferent to everyone and everything. I had all the signs, but if they asked if I was suicidal (rarely they asked). All I had to say was “No I’m not” and they would just drop the subject and move on. I had no one to talk to, no one was available, no one seemed to care enough to check on me or even listening and trying to lend a hand. I felt like I was rotting and decaying from the inside out and slowly wilting away. But what MCR did for me was more than anyone helping in my life

My first show was seeing MCR when they toured black parade and I was 13. I'm now 30 and still blast them in the car almost every day. Their music has saved me in so many ways.
Watching this 14 years later is such an experience. Like seeing Gerard drawing The Umbrella Academy characters and knowing that now there's an extremely popular show for it is wild bro. And when they talk about what they hope life after the breakup will be like, thats a tripppp. And when they were so proud about selling out those shows and now knowing that they sold out their entire US tour in 6 mfing minutes like bruh that's wack. This is such a lovely comment. I’m 20 and I stumbled across this documentary again and it’s so nice to watch it from this place in life. MCR got me through three really shitty and lonely years in middle and high school and I honestly don’t think I’d be here without them. It’s so beautiful to see that they still have that effect on young people today

I may or may not have sat down to watch this for 2 hours but either way, it was worth it.
The year is 2004. Im 14 and a FRESHMAN in high school. As i sit in my awkward silence in the front of a class i have no friends in, a girl i barely knew, dressed in all black with platform boots and face paint, turns to me and asks “wanna hear a new song from my favorite band?”. I was a skater not “gothic” so i was apprehensive but agreed to the invitation. The song was Helena. I was unsure at first but after almost TWO DECADES, MCR will always always always have a spot in my heart along with the memories and friendships this beautiful group of misfits helped nurture. From a still awkward, 32 year old 20 year fan, THANK YOU MCR ❤❤❤❤

Gerard talking about his depression is always gonna hit hard for me. He’s my inspiration whenever I’m making music or painting, along with frank and ray as my guitar inspiration. I’ve been in the same dark places he has and I don’t think that’s over yet for me but the band really got me through some tough times. It’s why I’m still alive so seeing how far he’s come makes me so happy. It gives me hope. You can get through this, guys. Never stop fighting and never let them take you alive! You’re not alone
