- The sun is out, the roads are dry and the tyres are basically scrubbed in. Time to take the 1990 Kawasaki ZZR1100 out for a hoon and put some miles on the thing.

Can tell you are an experienced rider as you keep a good distance from the car in front then ready to pounce! Amazing only 28 mark 1's on the road almost got the 11 but settled on the 12 instead and I love it!
I've had bikes since the age of 16 and raced them, so sort of experienced I guess 😁
A healthy gap is just because I'm bedding in brakes and tyres, so everything feels a bit wooden to start off with 😁

I have the same problem with the fuel sensors on both my 91 zx11s. I think I will buy the thermistor and solder it into the old holder that bolts into the tank. It's great to finally see you enjoy a ride on it.

Hi buddy great ride along, just a word of advice don’t leave your fork seals to long, my D4 no warning just blue the left seal on a ride out as I went into a right hand bend yep you guessed it the next thing I know I’m in the middle of the road bikes in the ditch, fork oil all over my disc, so be safe regards Kev
Good advice matey and I'm.trting to keep the miles down for now. I've got everything else, I. Just waiting on the fork springs which will hopefully arrive this week, but we'll have to wait and see... 😁👍
The old road from Plymouth to Callington and then to Liskeard always used to be a hoot to ride.
Mind you, haven't lived down your way for about 20 years!! Torpoint road was another. 😎

Its coming along nicely mate. I have always fitted the progressive fork springs from Hyperpro as I find the standard springs a little soft.
They are quite odd it has to be said, but when I pulled the forks apart I found they're waaaaayyy to long. I've since got a set of progressive springs and will be fitting them.along with a full service kit 👌
Ermington to Wrangaton is a cracking bit of road. I worried a Tesla all wheel drive on Monday afternoon in my crappy old Eunos as he kept braking for the bends, he disappeared once we got onto the the nice straight A38 though.

It's got some.grunt for sure and rides quite nicely. If I sort out the suspension it'll be a bit more nimble and I'm dying to.find out what's up with 5th gear, but its rideable and a great deal of grins are to be had 😁👍

I did a video on the low fuel sensor, the one on my R1 stopped working, found out the same way you did😁, I just changed the 1Kohm thermister inside the wee can ..also swapped out the fuel tap for one with a reserve so if it does go belly up at least I have reserve cheers 👍

@@QuickBikes it appears that the fixing points for the tap is 34mm (if i remember) this seems pretty common, and for the sake of a few quid and if you are having the tank off anyhow ... but saying that is your tap vacuume operated? but then I suppose it doesn't matter you can always switch the fuel off when you are done for the day ,,, cheers
come to think of it , my GPZ 900 r had a vacuume tap and it had a reserve function too....
ok now I am talking rubbish, I reckon the zzr tank just has an outlet not a place to fit a tap me thinks,,,

No fuel level on my trx, I reset the trip counter on every re-fuel and start looking for a fuel station around 120 miles 🙂
Hehehe... basically what I'm doing matey. There's no point I'm replacing the sensor yet as it all needs pulling apart for a repaint anyways... Ill just don't then 😁
