It’s cool to look at another Jack the Ripper suspect and see how likely it is that he was the Ripper as we know some appear to be more plausible or likely to be Jack the Ripper, while others don’t have much to them to be Jack the Ripper, yet they’ve become prominent in some ways in the Jack the Ripper case. Very interesting stuff Ned. Thank you for the episode, I hope you’re doing well. Take care!
Clicked on your profile pic and really cool that your TH-cam page/account is 16 years old. That's the oldest account I've come across. My account is hopefully about to turn 14 in December🤞👍I call them accounts because I'm not sure what other term to use lol.
Excellent video as ever Ned. I have long been of the opinion JtR was probably a working class local. I use the word 'local' in a loose sense, either local to the area or a regular visitor to Whitechapel. The perp was almost certainly not a rich toff and probably not a middle class outsider to the area.
I think the murderer of Mary Kelly may, or may not, have been drunk. I don’t think he would have had a problem with anything he had to do, including escape, if he had been drunk.
I’m convinced that the Ripper had to have knowledge of the human body. I really don’t see how he could have retrieved the organs he wanted without understanding the human body, because he was doing his ripping in near or total darkness in four cases. With possible discovery by another person at any second. He had to work fast, in the dark. He didn’t just flail away and take some mess with him. He cut with certain knowledge.
I don't believe the Ripper was drunk when he committed the murders. I think he was carrying out a plan, and would have needed his mental faculties to do so. I also believe he had two good arms. It's one thing to know how to use a knife, but it's something else to be able to cleanly remove body organs, quickly, and in the dark.
I think he only maybe had light in Mary Kelly’s room. Yet it was the one time when he did flail away like a madman. He had to be fast and careful in Mitre Sq. and elsewhere.
Great talk - I got the book because the index included Inquest witness Thomas Ede.

Interesting suspect.
