I'm just happy to hear non-AI narration. Thoroughly enjoying listening to Josh's delivery.
No AI here!
Amen brother. AI is taking over this country.
I’m on the backside of 73 and I believe my first experience with TV was a westerner. Been hooked ever since. Growing up in Nevada horses, Gymkhanas, and open desert were common place. Taking horses out riding in the desert and camping out was such fun. Looking back I wish I would have realized it more back then.
Even now I watch more reruns than the new special effects movies that dominate the screen. Unfortunately the western seems to be a thing of the past and if one gets made it’s usually junk grade C type.
I even knew a girl named Sassy! And she was… thank you Sassy …
Enjoyed your chat and story telling…
Whhoooppp!! Hell yea, four hours hanging out with Josh tonight!
Bring it
Me and my buddy Anthony Garcia love listening to your podcast while working and driving.
Thanks! Tell Andy i said what's up
Great, well written and narration, like Louis Lawmore
Thanks Josh for your Love of the days of our American Heritage of history that shaped this country the wild and woolly west a page in time you carved out real lives that formed my interest and I thank you 🙏 ❤
Wild Bill Longley is my great great great grandfather. This is cool lol
Cool
Awesome thank you for another great episode. Have a great week.
Thanks, you too!
Joshing Josh, forklifting f you's and sweet things from horizons of far gones. You beautiful bastard; we love you!❤
A 4 hour journey through the old west as I'm riding the range and acting strange,I approve thanks Josh for making the nightshift fly on by.
Glad you enjoyed it!
What I think is worth commenting on is to your point of things didn’t suddenly change in a 20 year period,or basically overnight.
I’m a lot older , and I can attest than signifiant social changes occur over decades, with grey periods separating them.
If a young fighting warrior was 16 in 1860 , he’s only going to be 36 in 1880, and still a young man and likely set in his way.
Things don’t go extinct quickly, there’s always remaining pockets until that generation dies out.
Excellent story telling.
Well said, thank you
The tough don't change but the gun technology does. Cap & ball Colt don't compare to a .45 PeaceMaker.🤔
Great story , it makes me long for bygone days
"hell I been through tougher scrapes than this and came out alright don't they know who the fuck I am!?" I love that shit lol
That was the most enjoyable monologue I have had the enormous pleasure of listening to. Your voice and presentation are excellent. Many thanks from England😊
Thanks from Texas
We in England should have some hellacious stories from our own frontier stories, eh? Oh, yeah, we call those genocides.
Best history channel on youtube...you sure can spin a yarn
Thank you
Informative and funny, along with being top quality-as always!
Thanks as always!!! 🙏🇬🇧👍

"Billi and the Regulators" would make a sweet band name
Agreed
The intro was a great example of 2nd person pov. That's a pov most writers avoid. You did great!
Thank you
Holy smokes! It's a Christmas miracle. I can't think of anything more appetizing than 4 hour Wild West Extravaganza, except maybe a T-bone steak thick cut.
T bone is way better

Dude you’re awesome lmao. Absolutely loving your channel. Started with Jim Bridger and I got goosebumps with the Lonesome Dove video when I watching it this morning. This stuff is in our souls, you’re so embedded mentally (and maybe physically) in the knowledge and the history and it really shows.
Thank you
Nice. During these old times wars had moved on west and we stayed hidden in the swamps

The image used in this video is of a modern reenactor named Floyd Oydegaard in Northern California, taken circa late 1990s - early 2000s by a wetplate colodian artist named William Dunniway. Great character image of a modern reenactor who is a nice guy but this picture is often confused with being an original image of an 1800s era outlaw. Great monologue. Floyd's picture went with it nicely.
Thank you for this great upload.
From Pretoria, South Africa,.

Hello South Africa

That fictional story you had in the beginning made me think of how weak mentally I am. LOl😂
I thought it was about a real man at first, until you told us otherwise. I was disappointed it wasn’t real.
Your have a gift from mythology and stories for sure dude.
Good luck. Keep that spirit and storytelling.
I like how you said, “save one bullet for yourself, but we’re not doing that we’re too mean. “ (paraphrased)
That’s a great line and a great philosophy for bad situations in life. Whatever they are. Good luck.
Never give up

Thanks! No time to create a video. Even a ten minute slide, done right, takes several hours. Once I can afford it I'll be paying someone to create video though.

I served in the 2SCR from 2007-2010. The 2SCR is currently the only continuously serving Regiment from 1836 to now. Its cool to hear about some of the Regiment's History prior to my service. THANKS for that.👊🇺🇸
Awesome!
I understand the name of the city of Bastrop is called different from the town of Bastrop in Louisiana but in Texas it’s pronounced Bass-Trop. Almost like two different words but the o is pronounced like ah
Holy shit i worked there for 3 months has one bar one school and one store closest walmart is little over an hour i have pictures of the memorial of him and his famous shoot out withe Texas hands that wanted him dead " he only stop shooting to flip tortilla and beans" i butchered that qoute but i love i know who hes talking about and where its at P.S the booze sold at the bar there is hella expensive just know if you ever take a trip there but the locals are awesome and its a beautiful place to see and visit.
I’m always down!
My man
Like my dad always told me, "Son, life is short and hard, like a midget on steroids."
Found your channel about a month ago and have been listening to these stories all the time now. Thanks for bringing us a little joy in this world and a reminder of when the country wasn’t run by idiots suffering from the woke mind virus. If you’re ever in the central Ky. area give me a shout. We can ride horses and shoot either cowboy guns or cool new stuff while wearing night vision and having IR accessories on our tools!!😂👍
Edit: the more I listen the more I begin to wonder if you’re not part of the woke mind virus crew?😂
What’s the woke mind virus crew mean?
Why can’t your voice be the voice of Alexa and Siri I would trust the maps directions more “son your right turn is half a mile I reckon”
I'm only about 2 hours in so maybe you answer this later, but what is the picture you're using? Is that a real historical figure? If so who is it? Or if it's from a movie or show, what one? Thanks
No idea but it's often mislabeled as being Black Bart.
@@WildWestExtravaganza well whoever it is looks awesome as an old west outlaw. It reminds me of in the 80s when they would have Randall Tex Cobb play a bad guy biker in so many movies
@@jimobrien84 I was wondering the same thing. Apparently the man in the photo is a reenactor named Floyd Douglass Peterson Øydegaard, the photo was taken in 1994. I was disappointed this was not a real outlaw, he looks perfect for the part.
I liked the quote but I was more concerned what my father would have done to me. My Twin followed through with the other thought. He became the favorite. I'd say if you have that thought still question yourself. one mans experience isn't the same as another.
A1
Ehh’ that intro though, not bad!!
Thanks
kind of off topic but is the whole "hang by the neck until dead dead dead" from a movie?
It's definitely in Young Guns 2.
