I’ve seen a lot of Everest documentaries, but none of them have captured the actual experience the way your videos have. Really felt like I was up there with you at times.
Now that I’ve climbed Mt. Everest in 2 days, from my couch, I can mark it off my list of things to do:). Seriously, that was pretty amazing. Great accomplishment! Keep up the great work and videos!
Forget National Geographic or any other documentary maker. This was the most detailed, comprehensive and interesting look at what it's like to climb Mt. Everest. I felt like I was right there step by step. Congrats!
Sherpa was on a mission to get you down fast because he knows how much can change quickly. It’s honestly scary how much changes when all the ice starts to melt, the Sherpa’s really do make life easy for everyone else with ladders and ropes.
Ryan, I'm 70 years old and have been watching mountaineering videos for as long as TH-cam has been around. I've heard many people comment that your filming and narration are top-notch. I totally agree. It was a breathtaking journey. I haven't heard many people speculate on what makes this such a great series. Briefly, I would say that what you bring to this series is what my generation used to call " the right stuff " I am glad the mountain called you at a time when you could listen. Best wishes from West Virginia, Sarah
What an amazing record of your adventure. Congratulations. One of the best and most detailed accounts of a successful summit expedition. Thanks for taking us along!
It’s pretty much a a guided tour these days. Anyone in decent shape with some money and a few months to prepare physically can do it. It’s not the accomplishment it once was.
@@thedavephan Whilst it has certainly become more commercialised, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, there are tragically still those who lose their lives each year so it’s hardly a Sunday stroll.
@@AlJetdriver I think there’s a lot wrong with the commercialisation of climbing Everest. The rubbish strewn across the mountain was shocking. Ryan commented about this and I’ll be interested to hear what he has to say when he’s had time to reflect. I wonder what happens to all the ropes and ladders, are they just left at the end of the season?
Thanks Ryan. I have been watching Everest climbs for over 60 years. Yours was the best coverage I have ever seen. I am 83. Although I will never climb Everest myself I came close through you.
That guy coming down above you was an absolute clown, imagine putting everyone else at risk cause you can’t follow along with everyone else 😤 Congrats on the summit, good to see you safe and looking forward to seeing what’s next 😄
Most detailed ascent and descent of Everest that I have seen…I’ve been riveted for weeks! You stayed positive, relaxed and confident, and you narrated just like you would with friends or family…very natural. Congrats on such an amazing accomplishment at 19, and I look forward to your future endeavors!
Mountaineering is like my horror genre. I find it fascinating both from a psychological & physiological standpoint. I have no desire to actually climb like this, but follow the season on Everest nonetheless. Your videos gave a great perspective on the reality of this kind of climbing. Bravo to you for your accomplishment as well as your documentation. Appreciate it.

The Sherpa is experienced and knows that going down is the most critical part of the climb. Fatigue, and everything. I love how he clips it for you without even looking at you. 😂😅 I think even parenting should be that way at some point. Teach them the hard way. Congratulations on your summit.
As a long time rock climber and ski mountaineer it's wild to see how people end up having to use the fixed lines on Everest. Clipping in with a carabiner like this means that unless it's not very steep or you're traversing horizontally, if you fall you will fall or slide down the rope until you're "caught" either by landing on the next person or on the next anchor. Not locking the gate on the carabiner (for expediency here, of course) means it can easily unclip from the rope unintentionally, like during a fall. Having to unclip and reclip a single tether to pass others on the fixed line produces hundreds of chances to make a mistake while you're completely unprotected. Even if you're competent and feeling reasonably OK at 26k feet, that person above you hand-belaying down a steep section of fixed 10mm climbing rope (with thick gloves on!), who might be totally exhausted and at the limit physically and mentally, is a completely unmanageable hazard. What's worse is that making it safer by rappelling steep sections or using actual self-belay techniques is impossible given the circumstances (number of people, expediency, etc). I've never seen a video that captures this so vividly! I've seen (and at times participated in) some wildly unsafe things over 25 years of climbing but the sheer number of people and the high-altitude environment involved here are just a whole different level of awful.
Ryan I’ve watched hundreds of videos and documentaries, but your videos have by far being the best I’ve ever watched! Absolutely brilliant !! Viewers took every step with you! Well done👍
Outstanding Ryan, what a massive achievement. The descent of the icefall looked even more dangerous than going up, I can't believe you were hopping over those huge cracks. Massive achievement? Sherpas do this every day so spoiled brats like him can tout about “achievements”. Let’s see the person walking 7 hours with luggage not this whiny silver spoon fed worm.
I’ve watched every video on TH-cam about climbing Mount Everest. Even so, I had no idea the yellow band had rocky technical sections or that the Geneva Spur was so steep. Great job of detailing your climb. Pay no attention to the haters. Still a huge accomplishment climbing Everest. Again, great filming as well.
I'm glad you didn't get injured when that guy came down the up rope. It's more than just being inconsiderate - it's about disregarding other people's safety.
Thank you for documenting the descent, always wondered how difficult getting off the mountain is compared to the ascent. The amount of fixed ropes on the route was interesting. The sherpas who put them in place deserve most of the credit.

Ryan Mitchell - Your videos and documented adventure is truly and beyond amazing. I was dizzy and felt like I was climbing with you. May God continue to bless your adventures and keep you safe.
The weather wasn't looking good. I'm sure that's why the Sherpa was in a hurry. Also, he wanted to make sure you weren't too exhausted to properly clip on. He was looking out for you. No shame in that. For the most part, it looks like you had outstanding weather conditions. Can I ask a question? Why wouldn't you rappel down the steep parts, rather than going down front ways? That is, if you have rappelling knowledge? We all knew you made it back, but man, I was tense watching you come back through the Icefall. Thank you so much for taking us along on the adventure of a lifetime. I'm kind of sad, that this is the end.

This is an incredible documentation, the team you went with was definatly focused on your safety. The pace people carry in extreme conditions is important to keep blood flow and prevent mental fatigue. You definalty were on point!!! Heres to a safe summit and to your next adventure!!!
I follow any Vlogs that details going to Everest base camp or even summiting that elusive mountain but yours is the best, the clearest and the most natural. Congratulations!!! Stay healthy and keep fit. The change that you did and committed yourself into doing is the uttermost self-love you could ever give yourself. Well done, young man.
Please do a question and answer video! I've been watching your videos on comfort of my sofa and though I have many uncomfortable feelings about the whole Everest tourist business you have shown yourself in the best possible light. For such a young man you show such integrity and calmness. Nothing seemed to phase you. I really would like to ask you what your most scary moment was - how were your true feelings on the summit? You kept so reserved when encountering ' selfish ' climbers-how do you feel about them? Do you have any opinions about the future of Everest? I'd love to hear you and Alan have a heart to heart 🙏
Ryan, you are such an inspiration. I appreciate your honesty, and your open and undiluted way of sharing your adventure. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with all of us. I look forward to hearing about your new adventures! I wish you success, happiness and joy in all you do. 😊
Congratulations, it’s been great going along on your journey with you - thanks for taking me along. It gives a new perspective on just how difficult the route is. Gosh, some of those crevasses in the Khumbu icefall are huge. I’m glad you made it up and down safely
Best chronicle I’ve seen of climbing and descending Mount Everest. And I’ve seen a lot. But this was so detailed I felt I was seeing it anew. Thank you!!
You’ve done what no one else has done with these Everest videos! Watched you everyday from the beginning. Outstanding! The Hilary Step, avalanche and the random dude repelling down in top of you were pretty scary. At least you didn’t have to deal with hoards of people coming up on your decent. Great job!!
Thankyou for sharing your adventure! We have thoroughly enjoyed all your videos, and finally somebody filmed the descent! Something we have always wanted to see. You documented everything so well!
Congrats on your Everest achievements! I know I could never do it, but being on the journey with you was truly amazing! So proud of your hard work with a smile and good humour!
Once you get home, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this trip after you have reflected a bit :) what you learned, the scariest moments for you and maybe what’s next for you
Thank you!!! I’m nearly 80 years old. Your bravery amazes me!! Loved watching you. Wishing you safe travels always! What an adventure this has been! God Bless.
I've never been to Everest, but I have done some high altitude mountaineering. I appreciate how much effort it must have taken to prepare for, maintain and manage all aspects of this video work. The quality is excellent - one of the highest quality video logs of climbing Everest that I've seen. Super fun to watch. Well done!
What an amazing achievement. The “anyone with a bit of fitness and 2 months training could do it” comments are hilarious. People train for years and still die. Congratulations on your achievement and good luck for the future
I've watched and enjoyed every single video of this Everest adventure. Your commentary has been superb and the video content outstanding. I'm sorry that you didn't get a good view from the summit but the main thing is that you got up and down safely. I'm looking forward to watching your future videos. Thanks for all your hard work in documenting everything. Take care.
What a journey!!!! Absolutely fantastic video. You had me on the edge of my seat the whole trip. I tip my hat to you young man. To have it all so together at such a young age. I expect great things from you and will definitely follow your future expeditions. Thanks for taking us along. And be safe!
Really enjoyable set of Everest videos! Well done. For the first time I can actually get a sense of what it is like. The Hilary step and the Khumbu ice fall definitely give me the heeby jeebies! The drop- offs at the Hilary step are freaky!
Well done Ryan you smashed it and well done to the Sherpa team for making it happen year in year out sad it’s ended but looking forward to what comes next stay safe
Congratulations! And thank you for taking us with you on your amazing journey! I've been watching Everest footage for many years, and your footage is truly in a class by itself. It really gives us an idea of what it would be like to climb Mount Everest. These are without question the best Everest videos I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of them. Well done ma boy!
I have loved following your expedition everyday for the last few weeks, and I am so sad that this series has come to an end, but what an absolutely amazing accomplishment Ryan, congratulations! You are a true inspiration.
Congrats!! That is such an awesome accomplishment. Thank you so much for sharing your real Everest journey. This is the most real footage I have seen. I have watched so many videos but no one shows the whole journey to the top this way.
Ive been watching Everest summit / experience videos and you by far did the best job in terms of documenting and footage. Thank you for sharing this and congrats on your accomplishment. Your Sherpa seems like someone you def want on your team!
Incredible footage, this and the other one really put things in perspective, especially if you image a storm hitting. Congrats, and so much praise due to the Sherpa as well.
Really enjoyed the entire journey with you. You will inspire many, Ryan. Really appreciate your effort to stay with the posting. I've watched everything Everest for 40 years, and i must say your trip captured something unique. I thought I had seen it all. Not even close.Thank you so much. Future Q&A: What was the sketchiest moment?
Congratulation Ryan. What an inspirational journey it was. It actually feels like I have summited the Everest. Please keep on making videos. Loved every bit of it. Thanks.
Wow Ryan! First of all big congrats for whatyou achieved. Starting with a low condition of not be able to run a mile. And 18 months later reaching the top of the world. Respect, man! Another reason why I wanted to react is the quality of your document, the brightness of the images and a perfect image we get by your cool narration. I've been watching mountain clips for years now, since a youth mate climbed K2 and Everest. And I have to admit that this is the clearest guide of the Everest descent. I can imagine how it changed your life. I wish you lots of fun and joy during your future climbings and hope you stay safe and free from bad accidents. Definitely will follow you here to witness your next projects. Greetings from Belgium. Bart.
It's absolutely amazing how you truly capture the scale of the climb in these videos! Congratulations on reaching the summit and getting down safely. Thank you for sharing these special moments.
Well done Ryan. Really enjoyed your adventure. You had a great attitude even when you were feeling shitty. I hope you turn these videos into a Ted Talk or something to inspire others. I hope your dog is proud of you. 😃
So amazing Ryan! You did a great job! Thanks for sharing your videos! I can honestly say I have never seen the Kumbu ice fall this late in the season. It's crazy how much it changes! You did it! You should be proud of yourself. I know a lot of viewers are proud of you as well. Climb on Ryan!
Thank you Ryan! I think we’re all giving you a standing ovation. Every second of this journey was awesome and we all say thanks for taking us with you. Wishing you the best!
Excellent excellent excellent video!!! Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! My stomach was in knots watching the icefall footage. You did great!!
After all the years of watching content on Everest adventures I have never been so happy to check my TH-cam feed and see one of your new videos. I’m sad it’s come to an end but over the moon you’ve managed to achieve what you set out to do. Thank you for taking us on your journey. 19 years of age and already summited Everest 😮 is it K2 next? I’ll be interested to see what becomes of this channel. P.s it was this video what (pardon the pun) had me on cliff edge watching you come down through the kumbu icefall 😱. I imagine many have accidents there due to exhaustion and feeling like they’re too big for their boots after achieving summit. Well done Ryan!
please keep climbing mountains and inspiring us with your videos, I literally saw the entire Everest adventure in one shot, it's incredible. Thanks again
I was not going to like this, as I am generally against Everest tourism, but your respectful attitude and your words at the end convinced me to subscribe to your channel. That the great change was running the mile, that consideration sealed it for me. I look forward to your next videos!

Loved interview with Alan Arnette !
You are better off watching videos of Sherpas. Not spoiled brats.
Great job!!
🙄🙄🙄🙄 no one has done ? Wtf are you on about ?
Thankyou for sharing your adventure! We have thoroughly enjoyed all your videos, and finally somebody filmed the descent! Something we have always wanted to see. You documented everything so well!
Most of us will never get there. Thanks for taking us along
Congrats on your Everest achievements! I know I could never do it, but being on the journey with you was truly amazing! So proud of your hard work with a smile and good humour!
Once you get home, I’d love to hear your thoughts on this trip after you have reflected a bit :) what you learned, the scariest moments for you and maybe what’s next for you
Me too.
Same
You would like to know about a guided trip that he just had to walk ? Sherpas do this everyday. Watch them and not these egotistical freaks.
Thank you!!! I’m nearly 80 years old. Your bravery amazes me!! Loved watching you. Wishing you safe travels always! What an adventure this has been! God Bless.
Kinda sad this series is over now… that was great..
Sherpas do this for their 9-5. Then porters do it with 100+ on their backs. Achievement for a spoiled brat maybe.
I agree
Well done Ryan you smashed it and well done to the Sherpa team for making it happen year in year out sad it’s ended but looking forward to what comes next stay safe
Thank you for sharing! Congrats on summiting the highest mountain and making it possible for others to see.
Been following your journey from the UK..Best I've watched feels like we have climbed Everest with you...Huge well done you have done amazing
Thank you Ryan, that was an incredible journey to watch and feel a part of
I have loved following your expedition everyday for the last few weeks, and I am so sad that this series has come to an end, but what an absolutely amazing accomplishment Ryan, congratulations! You are a true inspiration.
Congrats!! That is such an awesome accomplishment. Thank you so much for sharing your real Everest journey. This is the most real footage I have seen. I have watched so many videos but no one shows the whole journey to the top this way.
Amazing series. Thank you for taking us along. I am really looking forward to seeing where you go in life. You have a great attitude.
Ive been watching Everest summit / experience videos and you by far did the best job in terms of documenting and footage. Thank you for sharing this and congrats on your accomplishment. Your Sherpa seems like someone you def want on your team!
your sherpa wants down fast cuz he is smart
Exactly. I don't understand why some people want to put others at risk as if they own their lives.
Congratulation on your achievement! It was a pleasure to follow your journey.
Congratulations Ryan! Thank you for taking us along on your journey!
Bart.
Congratulate the Sherpa and porter. Not the guy who gets his poop taken of the mountain by other men.
Congratulations for you and the team for the most important part of an Everest trip, coming back to finish the story.
You just completed something huge! You’ve been a joy to watch. I will keep watching for sure. Congratulations!
You had an awesome Sherpa!!! Thank goodness he helped get you there and BACK alive! 🙏🏻 Good job!
The Sherpas and Porters did a great job. This brat just had to show up and walk.
Congratulations man!!! Glad you made it to the top of the world and back safely!!!
I was so proud of you and the filming made the challenges so real. You did SO WELL. Congratulations!!!.
First video I have seen that tracks the whole journey up and down Everest...great job
Amazing video you have made here really felt like i was with you up there, great stuff and well done on your successful summit and descent.
100%
Hands down the best footage I’ve ever seen of Mt Ev thank you for this.
I’ve done the trek to base camp and it was awesome! Wouldn’t have the guts to do the rest but this is the next best thing. Awesome coverage. Thanks!
please keep climbing mountains and inspiring us with your videos, I literally saw the entire Everest adventure in one shot, it's incredible. Thanks again
I was not going to like this, as I am generally against Everest tourism, but your respectful attitude and your words at the end convinced me to subscribe to your channel. That the great change was running the mile, that consideration sealed it for me. I look forward to your next videos!
Amazing! Glad you made it back down safely. Thank you for sharing your accomplishment and adventure 😀
