    The 86 CR 125 makes me think of two things: Micky Dymond winning the title on a "mostly" production bike. And O'Mara in Italy getting two 2nd's against 250's and 500's! Awesome bike, Charlie.

    Gorgeous bike. Had an '87 125 that we pulled out of a ravine in CO. Only thing wrong was the front forks bent. Tore around the fields and ash dumps of PA until I sold it off. What a stupid move. '86 and '87 are still my favorite Honda years with the orange/blue and gold rim combo.

      Agree the 1986 and 1987 models are my favorite as well.

    That looks Awesome! I rode my friends brand new 86 CR125 and it felt like a 250 compared to my 84 CR 125. That bike was ahead of it's time in engine performance and looks.

    This bike is sweet. This was my original baby. Brings back memories. My other comments are the same as Mr. Squirrel except I sold mine for $900.00

    I was given an 86 CR125 last week. All parts with it, but engine in a box. Base gasket went out in 89 and trashed the bottom end. Debating on whether to restore it or not.

    • @CharlieFerer
      @CharlieFerer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely restore it. Will be worth it for you. Are you planning on selling it or racing it after restoration?

    • @Ramshackle6984
      @Ramshackle6984 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@CharlieFerer I will probably play with it for a season and then sell it if I restore it. I won't be doing a cherry restore, more so just getting it running and fully operational with as much original as possible. The cylinder needs honed, possibly bored. The bottom end is all seized from the coolant sitting at the bottom. It needs a total engine rebuild. I'm a hobby mechanic at best and don't have all the specialized tools. I've worked on a lot of bikes over the years but this is by far the worst I'd be attempting.

    • @CharlieFerer
      @CharlieFerer  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Ramshackle6984 That totally makes sense. Thank you for restoring it and enjoying it. That is the most important thing.

    Hey Charlie, I watched this video again and I noticed something about the 125 motors on the table. The all black one specifically. You had it cerakoted which looks nice. On the authentic detail side, the ATAC chamber head pipe, The "ATAC" letters were brushed and not painted.

    • @CharlieFerer
      @CharlieFerer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The Atac is Cerakote as well.

    Looks awesome. What cerekote did you use on the motor?

    • @CharlieFerer
      @CharlieFerer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For anything that is going to handle high temperatures you want to use the Cerakote black velvet. This coating will perform at temperatures up to 1600 f.

      @@CharlieFerer I had to go with Glacier Black on my 89 Cr500 build. The new right side engine case I bought came with all the bearings pre installed. Seems like a pretty good paint even though it's not oven bake. Time will tell.

      @CharlieFerer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can still find some OEM genuine Honda plastic or UFO. DC plastics make some as well. For genuine stickers google for them under decal set.

    Wat are you going do with all these bikes

    • @CharlieFerer
      @CharlieFerer  ปีที่แล้ว

      They are investments. In 2022 I sold about 15 bikes because the market and offers were worth selling. A hobby and a great investment because these bike prices keep going up in value. Look at the prices at Mecum auction…it is impressive what the bikes are selling for. I will be taking four bikes for sure to Mecum next year because of what they sold for this year.
