Just an FYI for everybody: as long as those green propane tanks are empty they are 100% recyclable. Pull the pressure relief to drain the last bit of propane to atmosphere and throw them in your blue bin 👍🏼
Why throw them away? I just use a refill coupling and a scale. Weigh a new full one, then bleed propane from a 20# tank into the smaller green tank, when it weighs as much as a new one, stop.
Hahahah, I know right?!? But technically I didn’t bring the kitchen sink in this one - that’s in my video called ‘The Kitchen’ 😂😂👊🏼 Thank you for watching and for your comment! 🙏🏼 I really appreciate it! 😀
The Term is used in Comparison to others who do go way further than what you see here. It is a Minimalist version for this specific Person/Family. It is also 2024, so thinking Minimalist still has to be what we did in the early 1900's is silly. It is an example for this specific person how they go to a Minimalist set-up while still having everything you need. I am surprised at the level of Teenage Density in the comment thread. I know that not everyone who commented is under the age of 15, but most certainly act like a ignorant 15 year old. Blows my mind.
A new definition for Minimalism. Back in the day, it was bash your beater car into the woods, dine on a box of dry Cheerios, and sleep across the back seat curled up in your clothing to keep warm. You've come a long way, Baby! LOL
Thinking the same thing....drives up in 4 door Jeep Rubicon/frig. sipping on a Gatorade instead of filtered stream water LOL.....I thought minimalist overlanding was a canteen and some jerky and riding a mule. HAHA
@@thebigempty_5792 - Custom bags for gear. When we didn’t want it to rattle, we wrapped it up in a bath towel, otherwise, gear went into our saved brown paper grocery bags. Coleman White gas lanterns for camp site light.
AHAHAH, ya, I didn’t realize I was stepping on a bit of a land-mine with the word, but, I’m with you - the definition is a little subjective to each person. Thanks for the comment and for watching! I hope you enjoyed the video and hopefully subscribe for more! 👏🏼😃
@@TrailNewbie Exactly, some may think of minimalism in terms of dollars, space utilization or the level of creature comfort needed. I believe your video was to showcase available gear not to suggest that everyone needs all of it. Also, folks must factor in remoteness and duration of an excursion. Well presented video.
Love this! When I started wheeling 35 years ago this is what we called "camping and off-roading" :) Back then we took a cooler and ALL of the rest of our camping gear fit into a big green duffel bag. Now we have a 44' Toy Hauler with satellite internet. I'm enjoying getting back to my roots camping and off-roading with my Gladiator and the bare essentials.
I am on week 4 of an overlanding journey through the PNW. Living simply out of my wrangler. So much easier to be present when you have "less" to worry about. ❤
AWESOME! That sounds like so much fun! Have a great time and stay safe! I appreciate your comment! And I hope that my videos give you some good content while you're on the road! Cheers!
When I do a minimalist I have a 2 man tent, sleeping bag, Cooler full of food and water, 1 lantern, cast iron Dutch oven, portable propane burner and coffee peculator and a roll of toilet paper. Okay I had to edit this. My old ass would love to have something like this. I think this is a great idea in all honesty
Right on! Love the set up you are describing - that is minimalist for sure in my book! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
HAHAHA, ya, I get what you mean! There really is a lot of gear in there - by minimalist I was trying to showcase that everything fit inside my Jeep. Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
One of the best pieces of feedback yet - has been about propane tank storage. I’ve stored mine on its side for quite a while, but am now going to find a way to store upright. Appreciate people noticing this and commenting! You might have saved me from 💥 💀
One thought...The American Adventure Labs spare tire strap rack or Trailrax are great for Rotopacks or Propane tank storage. And would free up even more room inside the jeep.
@@tryndoxme248 ya, that would be awesome to do on a bike. That is for sure the true definition of minimalism when it comes to overland travel! My only problem…. I would 100% die on a motorcycle 🏍️ 👊🏼😃🤣 thanks for your comment and for reaching out! I appreciate everyone’s perspective. 😃
@@shawnkimbrell5620 I hope that the channel gives you a little ability to enjoy these trips vicariously through me! 😃😃 Thanks for the comment! Best regards 👋
@@TrailNewbiehey bud great vid!! Love your setup!! What is that bag that you’re using for your ignik fire pit? I have one too but am using a tool bag for storage. Thanks
I’m glad I made you feel better! HA! I know what you mean - I have a lot of gear 100%. What I was meaning by minimalist in this video is that I could pack all my gear inside the Jeep, and still sleep in there. But you’re right, this is not minimalist by the classic sense of the term. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
This video hit the sweet spot for me. Just got my first Wrangler (at age 60!) and have been looking for ideas to head out in a similarly simple way. Thanks, man. .
AWESOME!!!! That is so great to hear!!! You’ll love your Wrangler! Honestly, the first two things I’d do are the Outback Adventures Trailgater tailgate table and the Vector Highland shelf. 😃😃👏🏻👊🏼 Enjoy the journey!! I’m so happy for you!! 🙌🏻👊🏼👏🏻😃😃😊
Ya, I have to agree! What I was meaning by minimalist was having all my gear inside the rig, while still being able to sleep in there as well. But the setup I have is definitely not minimalist by the classic sense of the term. 😃 Thank you for watching! I really do appreciate the perspective and the comment! 👏🏼👊🏼😃🙌🏼
So glad to hear that these videos help out as you consider how to organize your own rig! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
I think it was1986 and I drove my bronco ii from Texas to Colorado, camped in a tent and ate peanut butter sandwiches if I didn’t catch trout. I’m still doing pretty much the same now
I am just getting into overlanding and your setup has given me so many great ideas. Your "minimalist" approach to traveling lighter and bringing only the gear you really need-in as compact a space as possible-is a great overlanding philosophy.
That is awesome to hear! Thanks for the comment and your kind words! I hope that your build goes well and you have a great experience overlanding. You definitely don’t need a built up rig. Start small and adjust as you go for what fits you best. 😃👊🏼🙌🏻👏🏻
I also like that idea because of the information it gives off to other people. Nothing screams. I have a lot of expensive equipment like a fully kitted out Toyota Tacoma versus a vehicle that looks completely average on the outside, but has everything you might need on the inside A lot of very expensive over landing gear gets snatched because of high profile vehicle sitting in parking lots or out in front of someone’s house. …… I have a 1998 jeep Cherokee and have everything in it. I need for an over landing trip and for roadside repairs and helping other people who are stranded, etc on the outside. The only modifications are a front and rear bumper that look quite OEM with a winch attached and I have limo tint on all the rear windows, you would never know that there’s about $4000-$7000 worth of equipment in the back 😎✌️
Here's a fun fact: take your phone camera and put it directly up to the limo tint of your glass from the outside. It will see everything inside like there is no tint at all. I use reflective insulation but am looking to get 1/8" think black plastic sheet cut to size instead. That way it still looks black. (Wrangler)
My minimalist pack in my truck with a cheap camper shell, was just a pullout bed cushion, two sheets, one heavy blanket, a pack of waters, a colmen stove two pans and utensils for it, and just an ice chest that fits the food for the days, that’s minimalism lol didn’t need a sink, my little sister with autism showed us a random trick she came up with to wash her hands and all she did was set a water bottle on its side and slightly open the cap and let it drip off the tail gate and that saved us a few gallons lol kept our clothes inside our gym bags in the front seats since we ain’t leaving anytime soon, and our firearms within reach, very easy camping stuff, don’t need to spend a a couple hundred bucks on a few organizing bags and fancy gadgets to do stuff that we don’t really need. But everyone does it their own ways
Great video from a 'minimalist' overloading perspective. After selling my rooftop tent, I now have very similar setup in my Bronco Sport Badlands with fridge in the driver side back, storage on a custom built shelf and DeepSleep mattress (which is just awesome) on the right side with passenger seat pushed forward. Great minds think alike.
That sounds awesome! Thank you for the comment, and for reaching out! I love hearing from viewers and subscribers, it makes it all worth it to create the content. Have fun out there! If you have Instagram, find me there, I would love to follow your Instagram if you have one!
I have a 2dr Sidekick and am doing the same thing...I just bought a small pullout chuckbox and I bought a Jeep back-hatch table too. The headrest comes off the front seat and Collapses down into a bed ...cannot wait to travel across Canada with this setup soon. I want to get back split seats so I can leave my dual fridge on top of the pullout chuckbox and the sleep on the passenger side. I also just bought a rotopax 5L for emerg backup gas to attach to the back tire. I bought a travel Berkey and a small bluetti for charging devices...I use my small Snow peak camp stove to boil water and have a two burner stove if needed. Could also do tent camping if I want to watch the stars.
WOW! That sounds awesome! A cross Canada trip!!! AMAZING! I hope you have a great trip, and your build sounds absolutely awesome! Thank you for watching, and for your comment!
When your are behind the wheel of a Wrangler, you have to make every inch count! So the things you bring have to be quality and really serve a purpose. I think you nailed it with his video.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate the comment and feedback! Indeed, being able to pack everything in just to the perfect place is so key! I’ve got to watch your most recent video, I’ve been keeping up, but I missed the last one will watch it tonight!👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼
Last month I finished up a 2.5 month trip thru the west and SW as I relocated from Seattle area to SE FL (for family reasons). I appreciate the minimalist setup as I did my trip in a Subaru Outback and camped out every night except once when in Corvallis visiting my daughter. I'm going to get a 24 Rubicon X early next year as I want to continue to explore and found there were so many places that I couldn't get to before as they required 4WD and high clearance vehicles. Your setup has given me lots of good ideas of how to kit out my rig. thanks.
Awesome! That is great to hear! What a great trip that sounds like! 👏🏻🙌🏻 So clad I could help with a little inspiration. 😃 My best to you with your new rig! 👏🏻😃👊🏼👍🏼
Great Video! This is my philosophy as well, coming from Backpacking and enjoying off-roading It is all about making the most on space and weight and trying to carry just the right items to make it a nice trip. Thanks for shedding more light on this style of Overlanding!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, I don’t see myself getting a rooftop tent anytime soon. It’s not out of the question, but I really like the way I have things set up right now. 😊😊
Well - this part is a little tricky. The set of two boxes on the bottom has One by three pieces of wood underneath which is used to connect them. The set of two boxes that go on top are actually connected using some bolts and wood in between the two boxes. So they are actually constructed different. If they both were constructed with one by three pieces of wood under them, then they would not stack. If you happen to have Instagram, perhaps you can message me there and I can send you some pictures or something? Let me know, if you don’t have Instagram, you can email me using the email on my about section of my website trailnewbie.com. I hope this is helpful! 😃😃
Haha, ya, I know it’s not minimalist in the classic definition of the term for sure! Thanks for watching! I appreciate your kind words hopefully for subscribing! 👊🏼😃👏🏻👍🏼
HAHA, thanks! Ya, I know what you mean. What I was meaning by minimalist in this video was that I could sleep inside the jeep while still having all of my gear in there at the same time. But you are correct it is not minimalist by the classic sense of the definition. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Less is MORE! Great video. Overlanding has become synonymous with overspending. "Overlanding LITE" takes us back to the essentials. Plus, it makes overlanding affordable again!
Yes, I think the key is not how much gear - it is the right gear! That being said, there may still come a time when I get a rooftop tent or some equivalent. It just sort of depends on the need at the time and figuring things out as you go. For now, my set up is just right for me. 😁👊🏼😃 if the kids come along, I have an SUV tent that attaches to the back of the Jeep which is pretty cool. Thank you for the comment, it’s the interaction with viewers that makes creating content so rewarding. 👏🏻😁😀👊🏼
Does everyone travel alone these days? I recently took a family of 5 in my Jeep Commander Overland with a 2 inch spacer lift back into Canyonlands back country over Elephant Hill trail into the Devils Kitchen and camped for 2 nights. Most the camp gear was on my roof rack with some in the back. We had excellent food, and just regular camping gear with a large 12 man tent and a large cooler, coleman stove, etc. It worked out great. I had a satellite text communicator for emergency communication, first aid kit, tow strap, tool kit, and bumper jack. That was minimalist! Today, 5 people going overlanding there, somehow requires 3-5 nearly new built Rubicon jeeps each with 4 inch lifts, winches, CB radios, Dometic fridges, solar panels, jackerys, roof top tents, on 37's to do what my family did with one old but well maintained rig on 31's. I do have lots of off road driving experience and good judgement IMO, so I think that helps compensate a lot of not needing a built rig when encountering difficult wheeling situations. I would like to have traveled with another Jeep for many reasons, but for break downs honestly the difficulty of that trail would require a professional tow rig to come tow my vehicle out.
You make a great point, and I think the answer to your question is … yes. I think that the ‘overlanding’ scene has turned into a lot of solo-landing. I’m not saying that’s bad or good, but that people have really taken to overlanding as a hobby and passion. Therefore, they build out their rigs, buy their own gear and love the idea of being able to drive (vs. being a passenger). When I go out, sometimes there will be a couple (husband/wife) in one rig, but generally each rig represents 1 person. An interesting observation. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Really well thought through and presented. Im looking at a set up that is made of removable items, though not as minimalist as this. You have provided me with a great template to work from. Particularlly taken by the removable boxes with legs which are inexpensive. Thanks for posting. Andy
Oh wow! I’m so glad the video was helpful for you! I love hearing from viewers who gained some inspiration! Thank you for your comment 😃 it means a lot to me when people take the time 🕰️ to comment! Cheers!
This video is very inspiring for me. I think less is more, but that doesn't mean depriving yourself of a minimum of comfort, to the point of ruining the fun of the trip. You propose a balanced posture that I really like. Thanks a lot for the advise.
That’s so awesome to hear! I’m really glad that this video helped! I love my rig setup - it’s compact, but I still have a ton of useful gear that is just right for how I travel. Thank you for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it! 😃🙌🏻👏🏼👊🏼
Very nice video of your set up. You have a very nice set of toys to camp with. You still have dropped a fair amount of coin for the system, but it is very nice gear. If you work a little on the storage legs and get them to splay out 5 to 10 degrees, you will be shocked how much stability that offers. Keep up the nice work.
Thank you! Indeed, it has been a decent outlay of $$ for my setup. Vehicle aside - I bought much of this during/around my 40th birthday. So, I was going a little hog-wild on some of the gear purchases (in terms of price). At the same time ... the gear I bought has to fit just right in the Jeep, so at some point I have certainly had to spend more for things that are sized just right and fit perfect. Regarding the legs for the Front Runner boxes - that is great advice. I'll look into that a bit. I'm not 100% sure I could do that - but I'll start consiering a modification for sure. Always improving!! Thank you for your comment - I appreciate every single one!
Love it!! And in all honesty, your rig is one of my absolute favs. I really want to get a UM J30, but … I’m going to wait for a bit. Maybe in a couple years. At least that’s the plan for now. 😁👊🏼👏🏻 Thanks for the comment and for reaching out! 😃😃
Thank you thank you!! Yes, agree!! I’ve sort of taken my time acquiring each item. I’ve been doing it such that each piece fits like a puzzle 🧩. Thanks for the comment and encouragement! 👏🏻👊🏼😃
Very nice covert setup! I was at PNW and wanted to pull the trigger on one of those two fire pit setups that you have. I went with an economical Inspired Overland RT tent, because I take two large dogs with me who sleep in my Bronco. You gave me a lot of great ideas since I’m just starting out.
Awesome! I’m so glad to hear that! I am fairly new to all of this, a couple years in. Yeah those fire pits are awesome each in their own way. I definitely recommend either one. The Ignik for quality and overall reliability, the Tacticool for the size of flame pumps out. Thank you for reaching out and for your kind words!😊😊
Indeed! I actually have a spigot on one of my Rotopax under my Vector Offroad Highland shelf. That works well - - but I really do love my Dometic faucet!! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
Ya, 100% agree! What I was trying to point to as a minimalist setup is that everything is contained inside the vehicle, and there is still room to sleep in there 🙌🏻 It’s definitely not a minimalist setup in the classic sense of the term. Thank you for your comment - I appreciate every one! 😃😃😃
I can vouch for the Deepsleep. It is very comfortable and folds up really nicely. I used a brand new ice chest once then went to a 12vdc frig with a 600 watt solar generator and panel. What a convenience! I do have an suv tent on the backside of my 4Runner.
Right on! Ya, I have an SUV tent as well for when the kids/fam are with me. And man - that DeepSleep is so good. I was skeptical about the solo mat at first, but it is so good! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Thanks for the comment and reaching out. 😁
Right on!! So glad to hear!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼😄 I’m putting out a video next week called ‘Bedroom’ which deep dives a little more into the sleeping setup. 😄😄 Stay tuned! Thank you for watching and for the comment!! 🙏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼😄😁
Awesome setup! I’d be careful storing that propane tank on its side especially as it’s in the cab of the Jeep. Pretty sure it can cause issues with the safety relief valve??
Oh wow, I have never heard that. I will look into that to make sure that I don’t have any safety issues there. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I really appreciate it! 😃😃👊🏼
You approach makes sense. I watched another overlanding TH-cam where he talks about weight and payload. Need to be careful not to overload vehicle. Thanks for sharing your way.
You are not a minimalist at all. You have more than I do, and I thought that I have too much… 😁 Looks like the cost of everything you have there is over $5,000! What kind of minimalist is that?!!!
You make a great point! And my setup is not minimalist in the classic definition of the term. What I was meaning is that I could fit all my gear inside my Jeep, while still being able to sleep in there. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Love the way you share the simplicity of Camping. I think you give those who don't have the money or the ability to build their rigs like some of us, a great way to go out and enjoy the great outdoors! Great job!
Thank you so much! Ya, for me - I've held off on a RTT due to space issues. I really need to be able to park my rig in the garage, and a RTT just won't fit right now. I have a good Jeep tent that attaches to the back of the vehicle - we use that if me any my boys get out. So, for now, indeed just the Jeep is what works for me! Thanks for your comment and reaching out! Really appreciate it!
The only thing you need to camp is beer, food, sleeping bag, water, and a jacket. Don't need any of this guy's expensive crap. A few buddies will help ya get er dun too.

Thanks! I really appreciate it! It’s about to get a little more ‘overlandish’ with the addition of an Ursa Minor top for Jeep, but the interior as it’s currently set up will remain the same for interior sleeping if necessary. Thanks for watching and for the comment! Cheers! 😄🙏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼🤩
Dude you have the exact setup I was planning, with different brands though. Really like the way you leveled the sleeping area so easily and the flat water container under the shelf is a great idea
Great Video! You're going to make me go broke. Lol! I've already order the Front Runner boxes, Side Stasher, Vortex shelf, Dometic Faucet and jug, and tailgate table. And I'm going to build the legs. I love your setup. One of the things I hate about the camping part is completely unloading the back of my Jeep to make my bed. This will solve that issue.
Awesome!! So glad you enjoyed the video and found it helpful! And … sorry about making you broke! 😆😆 Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Looking forward to this - the amount of times I’ve searched minimalist overland and came up with nothing or overpriced sales pitches - fingers crossed!
I hope this one doesn’t come off as a sales pitch *fingers crossed* 😅 I’m not sponsored by anyone - so everything in the video is 💯 to give ideas of how I fit everything in the Jeep - for me, that was essentially my idea of a minimalist approach. 😃 But, I get what you’re saying - many times these videos can come off that way. I do have an ‘affiliate link’ for the SideStasher (though, again not sponsored). It’s made by a guy who designed himself - I’d really like to help him become successful. 👏🏻👊🏼 would love to hear your feedback if you did end up watching. 😃😁 Thanks!
@@TrailNewbie i think you did a great job! I like they way you pack your gear. There’s way too much emphasis on “stuff” these days. I’m in Australia and just finished a 6100km trip to Cape York (most northern tip of Aus) in my 2022 Gladiator Rubicon and had a great time - had everything I needed but many rigs were just way too heavy and overloaded and paid the price!
I like your minimalist set-up. Stealth camping. Lot of good ideas and taking the equipment and using it to your focus point. I feel everyone is “Keeping up with the Jones”. Your content could be an approach toward beginning like you said. Great Job
Yes, it’s definitely a good stealth option! I plan on doing a stealth camp later this year. We’ll see how it goes! Thank you for the kind words! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
Brother… I drive a 2005 Jeep LJ Unlimited Rubi. It might be longer than other of that time period but it is still dramatically smaller than your 4 door Jeep. So being minimalist and even using ultra light hiking gear has helped me so much. So many of your ideas I am using and want to use!!! Much love bro ❤

Holy Crap brother..... I have owned 15 various Jeeps over the past 30 years.... and I have been told that I am the Tetris Master of packing stuff in a Jeep.... But Dang... You have me beat! Great Video
Awesome! Ya, I have the full size one and I sued that for the first couple years before changing to the solo mat. Main benefit of the solo mat is the insulation inside (foam) and I feel like it’s manufactured a little better. I had to patch some leaks on my full size mat. No biggie, but one trip the full size mattress started going flat in the middle of the night. It was actually very comfortable and squishy, but not ideal. Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
Thanks for the reviews and you have a great set up, no wasted space. I just purchased my dream FJ and I’m working on outfitting it for some family camping on the east coast. Ton of options out there for tackling the great outdoors. Thanks again.

I have a very similar set up for full time nomad life. pretty much all of my gear fits in 4- forefront runner pro boxes, I can sleep in my jeep WK2, with the seats folded flat. All my clothes go into a go bag and a duffel. because I am not traveling alone and my travel partner likes to cook from scratch I have three 12V fridges. But I was using a SetPower TC75 in my jeep for 3 years solo. I use a conventional backpacking or bikepacking bed roll system, I have several different sleep mats that I have been rotating in and trying, the one I use most is a cheap trifold foam rubber mattress from Revo. My primary power solution is the Jeeps dual battery factory system, and a Lion Energy summit with solar panel. I’m still cooking on a $29 Coleman basic two burner green stove, it rattles around and it takes up a lot of room, but it’s still functions fine so I’m not gonna replace it yet. The only other gear that I have is mechanical tools and equipment, and a set of Traction boards. I’m in the process of reorganizing the tools from three or four different plastic cases to roll up canvas tool bags. Now since I no longer travel solo and I have to have gear for my adventure buddy and occasionally my young daughter, I bought a 10 1/2 foot Offroad camper trailer toy hauler, I pretty much just take the stuff from the jeep put it in there along with my travel companions cooking supplies and gear and I carry more tools. But I am full time on the road with no home base. MOST OF MY GEAR IS HAND ME DOWN FROM FAMILY OR UPCYCLED, I DONT BUY NEW UNLESS THE OLD GEAR NO LONGER FUNCTIONS.😢
Because my travel companion likes to cook from scratch and she needs more modern conveniences. We also now have but are not currently traveling with a hot tap hot shower system with privacy enclosure tent; she has additional eco-flow battery banks and an eco-flow wave2 portable AC unit, she recently acquired a all in one oven/airfryer/rotesserie so she can bake, $59 on sale at BiMart. I have an entire fab/mechanics shop full of tools and equipment alI in storage with a friend and I will be adding more tools to my rig once I better organize the available space in trailer and utilize my roof rack on the Jeep. But I plan to remove some of the gear I don’t use from my FrontRunner cases.
Thank you so much for the detail! Your setup sounds very functional, and it works awesome for you! That’s what it’s all about! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
My pleasure! This is so fun for me to do - and even more rewarding when I get comments from folks like you who appreciate it! Cheers! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀

Hahaha, ya, I know what you mean. What I was meaning by minimalist is that all of my gear is able to be inside the vehicle while I can still sleep in there as well. But you are definitely right it is not minimalist by the traditional sense of the term.
Love this. I’m looking into starting overlanding and think I would go this route. Am starting with car camping and already have a pretty good just-in-car set-up.
Awesome! I’m glad it was helpful! I really do love those boxes, they are definitely a price performer and a fun DIY. Thank you for the comment, I appreciate you reaching out! 😃😃👏🏻👏🏻👊🏼👊🏼
Great video! I have a similar setup from DeepSleep to the fridge to Vector shelf. The biggest difference is I need the fridge to be on drivers side rear. I took the 40% seat out so my dog can jump in easier. That is also where he sleeps. I’m so glad I found your video. Now I’m about to purchase the Amaysinglife bags.
Awesome! Thanks for the comment - and yea, if you use the link in the description you should get a discount in the SideStasher bags!! 👏🏼🙌🏼 Your set up sounds awesome! I don’t think I could do it any other way! Cheers!
So glad I saw your video and thank you for sharing the name brands of your overlanding gear! Less is more in my book too and I agree with you about have the overlanding essentials for successful and happy overlanding.
You are so welcome! Thank you for the comment and for watching! I really love to hear from viewers how the video impacted them - so … in short … it’s great to hear from you! 👊🏼🙌🏼😃👏🏼
This is really informational. Im just beginning my journal of camping/overlanding with my 4 year old son and looking to build out something with my 17 chevy colorado. Looking at topper tents and also truck bed setups. Excited to keep working on the truck build and see where it goes.
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy the build, make each part of it serve a need/purpose that really inspires you! Don’t feel like you have to do what everyone else does - make your rig just right for you! 🙌🏼👏🏼👊🏼😁 Thanks for the comment and for watching! 😃😃
One man’s “minimalist” is another man’s “luxurious”. If that’s what passes for minimalist, then I don’t even want to see the maximal. For comparison, I’ll say this much. A few years ago I did a hiking trip in northeast, about 10 days altogether. I had the same basic concept in mind - nothing on top of the car, nothing in tow, ready to jump in the back and sleep whenever needed. All was very well accomplished. The only difference is that your Jeep is huge compared to my car at the time - SVT Focus. The only “modification” I did before leaving the house was removing the rear seat cushions to allow the backrest to fold down and leave the area of rear footwell free for storage.
Ahhahahah, ya, I know! Not necessarily the best choice of words there. 🤣 I think I meant more like - l love it so much! For the small footprint it takes up inside my Jeep. 😃👏🏼🙌🏼 Thanks for the comment and for watching! Cheers! 😃
as for propane, i have a 20 pounder at home and refill adapter. i own 3 of the 1 pounders, but thats all. i refill them and keep up with them. i didnt know about that dometic water faucet before. its on my list now, thanks.
Amazing set up. Going ready to outfit a Lexus SUV in a similar fashion. I want everything inside if possible. That way I can put it into the garage! Great ideas, reviews and suggestions.
We have a similar philosophy- everything inside. I have a kid with me though, so my rig had to be designed around sleeping 2 and carrying two mountain bikes and all of my mtb gear AND all the other offroad recovery gear and camping stuff inside. So for me it’s an Alucab with a RTT. Man the RTT is so good when you’re rolling a different campsite every night - the Wedge style is 30 secs up and maybe 2 mins down. And I like sleeping up- its like being in a tree fort when you were a kid. Being able to sleep inside your Jeep is awesome, just doesnt work with 2 people and bikes. I have the same Front Runner utensils roll- I love the fact that you can hang it. I have a portable toilet (cause I figure I’ve *#+% in a hole in the woods long enough to have earned a bit of comfort when nature calls LOL) and it’s nice being able to put it in the truck bed away from the cabin and where we sleep. Although it’s pretty well sealed, just something about having it away. I pack it in last so it is easy to get to in an emergency and it comes out first at camp. Been looking at those lights. Right now I have these Revel Gear LEDs on a wire that work well- one strand on each side of Gladiator plugged into battery in tent on one end and toed to tree on other. Lights up campsite well, takes about 2 mins per strand to set up, and if I hear something at night I can turn em on from the tent. Still might get what you have for even easier set up. Im all about not too much, and what I do bring has to be simple and quick setup and tear down. Have fun out there. 🤙
Right on! Thanks for the comment - it sounds like you have a really awesome setup!! 👏🏻👏🏻 Ya, someday, I’ll likely have a gladiator and an Alucab. It’s probably several years out - but I love that setup. 💯
Thanks for watching, and great question! For me, I’ve been traveling with a JetBoil Genesis for the last two years. The double one - clamshell style. It’s awesome. I actually recently got a smaller FireMaple Saturn stove which I’ll be showcasing in my next trip video. It is really great as well. Packs a punch for being so small. 🙌🏼😃👊🏼👏🏼🔥
OK, my first instinct was to criticize all the expensive stuff. BUT, I am completely impressed with your ability to figure out all the spaces to place everything neatly. You should teach more about your process for that. Thank you!
Hahah! Ya, I know - what you’re saying about the cost of the gear. A lot of it I’ve gotten for gifts from my wife, but indeed, much was purchased and in most cases, I was willing to pay more if it was light weight, and fit just right; like doing a puzzle!! 😀😀 thank you for your honesty, and comment/compliment! I appreciate every comment! Cheers! 😃👊🏼😃
Which Fire pit would you buy if you could only have one? im in the market and its hard to know how big the flames get and how much heat and how much propane they use, that info is not easily found. Can you maybe do a review or just your suggetion and why? Thank you
So, the Tacticool would definitely be the price performer ($90) and largest flame. It can pump a flame 3 to 4 feet high. Now, its quality of build/construction is nowhere near the quality of the Ignik. Note: however it is developed, it actually does have a little bit of residue/smoke to the flame. I’m not sure why or how, but it does. The Ignik flame is much smaller while it still pits out a decent amount of heat. There is no residue/smoke in the flame - burns perfectly clean. I’ve heard before that people buy the Ignik and then drill the holes a little bigger for the flame. I have not done that but likely will. For a first ammo can size fire pit - I think I would go with the Tacticool. And then upgrade evaluate from there. That’s just my opinion. 😃
Great video! I, too, like to go as minimal as possible with my camping and overland ventures. I use the Deep Sleep for Jeep mattress as well and I love it. I removed my 60 rear seat, installed the Goose Gear 60% delete bracket and built my own platform out of plywood. The Vector storage shelf is on my list. It shouldn’t interfere with my Dominion Hi-lift Jack roll-bar mount. The Ignik Growler kit is what I’ve been looking for. All of the products you are using are high quality. I’m building some vent fans for my rear door windows using quiet usb fans for airflow inside the Jeep. Should make sleeping inside more comfortable.
That sounds awesome! For a fan, I use the deep sleep, USB fan and that has been really nice. I also use their window screens to get some ventilation. Your set up sounds awesome! Definitely stay in touch! 😃😃👏🏻
Great video. If you place an Element fire extinguisher on a magnetic mount on the frame of the XG bags, you can lose the bulky tank extinguisher on the rollbar.
That is an awesome suggestion - and … believe it or not!!! I just received an Element and was thinking the same thing!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😃😃 I’m excited to cut that bulky extinguisher out, and get a new one dialed in! The Element is so cool..! 🔥
I agree with your definition of minimalist. We're no longer struggling college students. It's funny - I just finished re-watching this video (I posted a comment 9 months ago) after mostly building out my 2024 Jeep that I finally took delivery of a bit over a month ago and plan on leaving for my summer camping trip within a week. And without realizing it I got just about exactly the same stuff as you. I love the SideStasher and I'm glad to see that it can also work with the Gamma bag. I was a bit worried as the SideStasher is more square rather than angled at the top. I'm assuming the Gamma bag sits a bit forward rather than right up against the window. Any issues opening the Gamma bag with the Vector shelf? I also ordered the Vector shelf as the Hooke Road one sat too low (good quality though). Question - does your stuff move around on the shelf? I was thinking of single-side sticky tape to give it some grip and I'm not sure if I really need to do that. And how is it working for you with only the corners to use as attachment points for tie-downs? Are you using Vector's cargo net? If not, how are you handling that? I also had recently ordered the DeepSleep as my Exped Megamat is too wide. I did end up going with the Scepter 20L cans. I set one up to use as a portable shower (I copied the design from Baptism Overland but I found a better solution for the pipe inside the can) and the other I found a solution to easily convert it to a powered water dispenser (from another TH-cam channel). There's a company that sells an adapter that fits right over the smaller opening and then I got a battery operated water dispenser off of Amazon that slides right on. Works great. I'd love to see where you store your recovery gear, tools, etc. Also, any issues with storing your propane tank on it's side? I'm going to have to continue using the 1 lb. bottles for now. But I did at least figure out how to eventually refill them from a larger propane tank. Thanks.
Wow! So awesome! Thank you for your kind words! To answer some questions: No issues opening the gamma bag with the vector shelf. Just sort of can only open it half way and you need to reach into it from the top. Regarding stuff moving around on the shelf - nope, no issues. No sticky tape or cargo net necessary. 😊 Regarding recovery gear - I have several straps, a tree strap, a snatch block, two kinetic ropes and an 85 foot winch line extension. All are in one of the gamma bags and one of the sidestashers. 😊 I never had any issues storing it on it’s side, but after this video, and several comments cautioning me about that - I switched to a 5lb tank and it fits stored upright on the Vector shelf. If you have more questions, feel free to reach out to me anytime on IG or email @trailnewbie or trailnewbie@yahoo.com Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
When I seen that deep sleep which I have seen before yours made me want to buy one myself. So I did I spent that money. And got me one I love it. Thank you for showing it even though you didn't mean to advertise itlolololol
Hey, it is a pretty nice setup. Everybody loves good useable gear that lasts a lifetime, so this is probably the best way to keep our footprints small, live out our overlanding dreams, and beside this, appreciate the moments and experiences and people you meet, more than the gear. Which i think is a really beautiful way to combine everything perfectly.
Thank you for the comment and the encouraging words! Really can’t thank you enough - it’s comments like this that really make putting these videos together so worth it! Cheers! 😃👏🏻👊🏼🙌🏻
If you want to dual-zone your freezer, get a small cooler and keep your non-freeze items in that, and then put the cooker in the freezer. It won't freeze for 24 hours at least. When you take it out at night it's cold after being in the freezer for the day. Then tomorrow morning put it back.
Hate to be critical but everything you showcased apart from lengths of timber was brand new and unused. Empty fridge with instruction Manuel still inside means it hasn't even been switched on else the instructions would be wet, The best was the cutlery roll "I keep the plastic on the knives and forks"? I have a frontrunner set and it would be nigh on impossible to get the cellophane plastic shit back on the knives and forks once removed. Sorry mate I still gave you a like though lol
Ahahhahahah! Love it..!! Well, indeed, the fridge had only been used for 1 trip since I bought it at Overland Expo PNW in July - so you are very correct there! 😃 On the utensils - you’ll just have to take my word for it - I really do put the plastic sheaths back on after use. 👏🏻🤣🤣 It’s for real!! I’m just weird like that. Everything else has some decent use to it, but you are correct that much of the gear I displayed is for this recent build - so much of it is newer. 🙌🏻 I hope you did enjoy the video otherwise. 😃😃👏🏻👊🏼 I appreciate all comments, even if we may not always agree. 😃👊🏼 Cheers!
Ya, I get what you mean - by minimalist, I was trying to say that I could sleep in the Jeep while still being able to have all my gear in there. But you are right, not minimalist by the classic sense of the definition. Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
On the fire front.......crazy thought.......but maybe forgo the fire and just use your propane for cooking? Late spring/summer/early fall it gets dark so late it's just a hey, look at this measure at that point. Winter time maybe, but there are better ways to generate heat then to burn propane in a little "firepit". I rarely start fires anymore and if I do it's some kind of tiny Dakota fire pit type setup if it's allowed. If there's a burn ban I don't even bother past cooking.
Certainly something to think about! For cooking, I use a JetBoil Genesis stove. Very compact and very good quality - I love it. For me, being without a campfire would be hard. We love to sit around at night, hang out, tell stories, etc. To me it feels like it just wouldn't be the same with out the glow and flicker of a fire. But, as I said, you have given me something to think about for sure! Thank you for your comment! I appreciate every one!! Cheers!
I have an adapter for my 15 lb propane tank that allows me to refill my 1 lb green bottles. I put my green bottles in a plastic bag and then in my home freezer for about 15 minutes. I place the propane tank upside down with the adapter screwed on then I open the valve and wait approximately 3 minutes and I have nearly 1 lb of propane in my green bottle. I find that I need 2 green bottles for a 2 week camping trip. They run my Coleman two burner stove. I live in Arizona and don't camp in really cold weather so I don't need a heater but if I did I would take a couple more bottles along. Thanks for the info. I will definitely be looking at some of your other links.
I like your 'minimalist' approach. I have gone way past this to get my wife to come along (Roof top tent, fridge slide, etc.) Extra passenger= extra sleeping space, sleeping bag, food, 'pleasantries', blah blah blah. Wait, I think I just solved my problem. Simplify like your set up. Umm.... sorry honey there isn't room for you to come?
You know...I have a vanlife rig in a 2010 Ford Escape that has a similar feel. One thing I might add to your rig is a simple roof rack. You don't need to attach anything permanent to that rack (though having the option of a rack if you want it is dead useful). I have a Yakima Skybox for light bulky things and an overlanding shower awning because that works for me. I have the Kelty Sideroads awning for when I maybe want a little covered space to get out of damp or sun (not a permanent install, that model and a few of the other Kelty awnings just fold up into something like a tent bag). I don't have boxes for gear because they wouldn't work well with my rig, but have two of the Kelty Galley Deluxe bags I got on sale. Those things are absolute CLOWN CARS for how much gear they hold, and they are configured so you can hang them on a roof rack. All that works for me, but my overall point being that if you wanted something like a Kelty Backroads awning (which is a LOT of living space to hang out with friends) or an anchor point for certain types of hanging accessories (or even a clothesline or ridgeline for a tarp), a roof rack would still be very minimalist, but would give you options in weather.
WOW! Thank you for the info and comment! I really appreciate it! I actually have recently been thinking about a roof rack. Something very low profile, but can also handle weight if needed. I'm looking into it right now ... and this comment might have just pushed me across the line to DO IT!! We'll see, I'm going to start looking more seriously. Thank you for watching, it really means a lot to me! Cheers!
@TrailNewbie mine was factory install option that came with the trim, but my first rig didn't have one. The lack of versatility was annoying. It is low profile and just gives you a LOT more options. @Chef Corso did a good review of the three Kelty tarps here, but there are other similar things out there (or just a tarp with some poles and guy lines if you've got one). I can't commit to the weight of a permanent awning because of the cargo box, but I've found this type of thing to be a really good compromise. th-cam.com/video/pUERaG_BGXs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=juM4QU8pPLpIasUV
Just an FYI for everybody: as long as those green propane tanks are empty they are 100% recyclable. Pull the pressure relief to drain the last bit of propane to atmosphere and throw them in your blue bin 👍🏼
This is great information! Thank you for watching and commenting - pinning this comment here for everyone in case they didn’t realize this. 👏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼😃
Minimalism in the age of consumerism.
Why throw them away? I just use a refill coupling and a scale. Weigh a new full one, then bleed propane from a 20# tank into the smaller green tank, when it weighs as much as a new one, stop.
Why not just refill the 1lb tanks from your 25 lb tank and the $9.99 adapter?
@@darrelljacobjr2120 you can now buy an adapter which skips weighing.
OP: "Here's my minimalist setup." Also OP: "I brought the kitchen sink"
Hahahah, I know right?!? But technically I didn’t bring the kitchen sink in this one - that’s in my video called ‘The Kitchen’ 😂😂👊🏼 Thank you for watching and for your comment! 🙏🏼 I really appreciate it! 😀
I said the same thing. That is not simplicity. 😂
LOL
A long way indeed! 👊🏼💯
@@thebigempty_5792 but that Gatorade is so good! 😃
Everytime ya drag something out the back and tell me ya need this bag ...then I remember the title minimalist and chuckle
Everyone has their own definition of minimalism.
@@doughaven-rf8id Thank you so much! I really appreciate it! 😊
Right on! A gladiator is such an awesome platform. Next level for sure! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
I am on week 4 of an overlanding journey through the PNW.
I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
I'd call it MANY-MALIST. lots of stuff in lots of designer bags. But hey, it 's your kit, thanks for sharing your stuff.
Would love to travel like this but can't drive enjoy safe travels

@@TrailNewbiehey bud great vid!! Love your setup!! What is that bag that you’re using for your ignik fire pit? I have one too but am using a tool bag for storage. Thanks
Good lord, I thought I packed a lot but watching this video made me feel better about what I bring camping.
Yep I'm a minimalist backpacker taking that mentality to my Bronco. Thank you for this refreshing take.
So glad it was helpful! 🙌🏻 Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
I wouldn't call your style "minimalist" so much as very spendy. Cool stuff but far beyond minimal.
He’s out of his mind calling this minimalist. lol.
All of this gear for how many people?
Your boxes remind me of Boy Scout camping. We had kitchen boxes with built in legs. Thanks for sharing.
Right on! Thank you for your comment and for watching! I really appreciate it more than you know! 😁👊🏼👏🏻😀
Another great video! I have a Toyota 4Runner…your videos are an inspiration.
I’m still doing pretty much the same now
Right on!! Love it! 🎣 👊🏼👏🏻😃
The only modifications are a front and rear bumper that look quite OEM with a winch attached and I have limo tint on all the rear windows, you would never know that there’s about $4000-$7000 worth of equipment in the back 😎✌️
Right on! Ya, while my rig might not stay like this forever, it’s working for now!! 😀👏🏼🙌🏼💯🔥
Also a lot less conspicuous if you need to stealth camp.
Here's a fun fact: take your phone camera and put it directly up to the limo tint of your glass from the outside. It will see everything inside like there is no tint at all.
I use reflective insulation but am looking to get 1/8" think black plastic sheet cut to size instead. That way it still looks black. (Wrangler)
I searched "Saturday Night Live skit" and got this. Gold!
🤣🤣 “I live in a Jeeeep, dowwwnn by the riverrrrr..!”

@@TrailNewbie Organization is oddly important in this business! Can make a trip go so much smoother.
Your setup has given me lots of good ideas of how to kit out my rig. thanks.

@TrailNewbie This time, how did you connected the 2x wolf pack, still keeping the top row groves aligned with bottom row? Thanks in advance

I agree! In my country, for many, "overland" is a synonym of doing any thing on board of a vehicle equipped with a roof top tent 😊
Thank you for your comment - I appreciate every single one!
note all the Gear names those without envy...
I love how functional, yet simple this setup is. Excellent!!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching and for the comment!
Yup. I’ve been talking about this, for years. I’ve said it before, minimalism is the future of overland and vehicle based travel 🙌
Love it!! And in all honesty, your rig is one of my absolute favs. I really want to get a UM J30, but … I’m going to wait for a bit. Maybe in a couple years. At least that’s the plan for now. 😁👊🏼👏🏻 Thanks for the comment and for reaching out! 😃😃
please recognize all the best brands and kit. I would consider this not a minimalist but rather "compact".
@@sadsciuidae3425 yes, that is a great way to put it. Agree 💯
I'm a true believer in You Get what you pay for. And it's cheaper to buy expensive once rather than cheaper 2-3 times. Great video, btw!
I was on the fence about the firecan then finally got it, zero regrets!
@@johnbryant8541 yes, totally agree! It is awesome and very high quality.!
The Dometic rechargeable faucet is cool, but a $20 gravity fed water canister with adjustable spigot would work nicely. 👌
Indeed! I actually have a spigot on one of my Rotopax under my Vector Offroad Highland shelf. That works well - - but I really do love my Dometic faucet!! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
I guess everyone’s opinion of minimalism is different haha I was kind of expecting a backpacking backpack, a dog in the backseat and that’s about it.
Great synopsis of an ‘overlanding minimalist’ approach: Compact, Functional, & Protected!
So glad this resonated with you! 👊🏼👏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you so much! I really appreciate your support and dropping me a comment as well! 😄🙌🏼
Thanks for the comment and reaching out. 😁
one step further away from being a minimalist.
Wonderful setup. Exactly what I was looking for to do with my jeep. Great work. 👍🏽
Thank you for your comment and kind words! Ya, I really love the current setup. 😃😃👏🏻👏🏻👊🏼👊🏼
Agree 💯
Love it. Lots of great ideas that have lead down the rabbit holes today! Also love that your giving a shoutout to some small businesses 👍
Thank you very much!! I really appreciate you watching and for the comment! I’m so glad to hear the video provoked a few ideas here and there for you! 😄👊🏼🙌🏼🤩👏🏼
@@TrailNewbie No worries, congrats on the video doing so well too! It’s getting pushed a bit by the almighty algorithm!
@@s-c.. hahaha! Yes, it has definitely been a ‘winner’ for me in terms of views. It’s funny, when I posted it I was like, “man, this one is my most boring video yet.” And then it went 📈⬆️ up, up, up! 😄🙌🏼👊🏼🙏🏼
Absolutely love your set up! So simple and it nice to see someone not using a full decked out overland rig . Very nice jeep. Loved it !
Right on! I’m glad this gave you some inspiration! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Good stuff. I camp the same way. Keep things simple.
Right on! Thanks! Ya, I try to keep it simple overall! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
I finally added a 1K power station, major improvement, runs lighting, ele blanket, boils water and charged everything.
Agreed! A 1K+ power station is an absolute must in my view! 🙌🏻👊🏼👏🏻😃 thanks for watching and for the comment! 🙏🏼
Awesome brother! That rig sounds AMAZING!! Love it! Thank you for your comment and for reaching out! I appreciate every comment so much - it makes doing what I do so much more rewarding! 😁👊🏼👏🏻😀
Holy Crap brother..... I have owned 15 various Jeeps over the past 30 years.... and I have been told that I am the Tetris Master of packing stuff in a Jeep.... But Dang... You have me beat! Great Video
HahahahH! Ya, it definitely took some serious planning 🤣🤣 😃 Thank you for watching and for your comment! 🙏🏼 I really appreciate it! 😀
That is a nice set up. I just bought a used Deepsleep full size mattress. Can't wait to try it out. I also believe in "buy once, cry once".
Glad I could help! Hope this gives you a good idea of what you’d like to outfit your rig with! 😁😁👊🏼
Iloveyourvids man keep it up. ❤
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment and encouragement! 😀
Thats a maximal amount of minimalism.
AHAHAHHA, I know right?!?!? I get what you mean, what I meant by minimalist in this video was that I could get all my gear inside the jeep while still being able to sleep in there. But you are definitely correct, this is not minimalist by the classic sense of the definition! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
Great setup!
Thanks buddy! I appreciate it, and all of the ideas and support you have given me over the last year! 👊🏼😁😀👏🏻🙌🏻
@@TrailNewbie likewise ! Can’t wait to have my camera pointed at your face 😂😂😂😂
I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
I really like the set up in the back of your Jeep. I want to reproduce this to stay more organized as we camp from our Jeep more this summer.
You can do it! It takes time to get everything right, but that was half the fun for me! 😀😀. Thanks for watching and for the comment! 👏🏼🔥🙌🏼💯

I relate to this...I have an older landcruiser , so i have to bring a crap ton of parts so I have to be minimalist!
Hahahahahah, that’s funny! But you’re definitely better off being parts if needed like you said! 😅 Thanks for watching and for the comment! 👏🏼🙌🏼😁
“Minimalist” 😜 Thanks for the gear review.
Hahaha, ya, I know what you mean. What I was meaning by minimalist is that all of my gear is able to be inside the vehicle while I can still sleep in there as well. But you are definitely right it is not minimalist by the traditional sense of the term.
I was just teasing. It really was a great video covering a lot of different items we all use.
@@geektarded hahah! All good! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀

Right on! That sounds awesome! That is really a low key approach and definitly next-level minimalist approach. Cheers!
Pretty slick how you used the 1x3s for the Wolf Pack's legs. Very clever. I like that air mattress too. May have to look into that for my JKUR.
Thanks!! 😃 Ya, the DeepSleep solo mat is 100% a must have for the Jeep. I love it!! 👏🏼🙌🏼👊🏼😃
Funny a fancy water faucet is a “must have”. Lol😂
Right on! So glad this helped! Enjoy the build! It’s half the fun!! 🤩 Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
Ya, someday, I’ll likely have a gladiator and an Alucab. It’s probably several years out - but I love that setup. 💯
Love this setup, smart and to the point! What are your thoughts on a camping stove?
Cheers! 😃👊🏼😃
Love all of our Front Runner stuff, great DIY on the setup👍 Nice Video!
Ya, Front Runner gear is so good! I love everything they make. Thanks for your comment and kind words!
Really cool setup, can’t stop watching and putting a list together of all the gear I’m going to buy. Thanks again
Right on! I’m so glad this was helpful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I really love my current setup - I wouldn’t change a thing right now! 😃👊🏼👏🏻
Great video. If you place an Element fire extinguisher on a magnetic mount on the frame of the XG bags, you can lose the bulky tank extinguisher on the rollbar.
That is an awesome suggestion - and … believe it or not!!! I just received an Element and was thinking the same thing!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻😃😃
I’m excited to cut that bulky extinguisher out, and get a new one dialed in!
Ya, the DeepSleep mattress is SO good! An incredible product. I’m not affiliated with them, but … likely I should be. AHAHHA. 😃
That is next level SMART! Thanks for the tip! I never thought of that. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Some good work shooting all that tight space, it was great meeting you at Overland Expo looking forward to the next one!
Awesome!! Right back at you! Ya, likely PNW for the win again next year! 👊🏼😃👏🏻 Cheers!
😃👊🏼 Cheers!
If you put two diagonal 1x3 legs in the other side of the box corner, it will still support the same but wobble less.
That’s a great idea! 😀
private definition of minimalist. but love the video none the less
Right on! That’s great and practical advice! Thank you for watching and for your comment! I really appreciate it! 😀
AHAHAHHA, problem solved! This made me LOL for real! Thanks for watching and for the comment! I really appreciate it!🙌🏼🙏🏼👊🏼😃
You know...I have a vanlife rig in a 2010 Ford Escape that has a similar feel.
