Excellent, but couldn’t the same thing be done using Photoshop or other high end photo editors such as Corel Paintshop Pro or PhotoPaint? Does Affinity Photo have a special sauce that the others don’t have?

Ok I’ve answered that myself don’t worry, this is likely to get no more than 30x21cm print.
I’m wondering if you guys can maybe help me though?
I have several images around 3-4K pixels that I want to print at 60x42cm size, I could risk the 8x enlargement but, I’m not convinced this will work well enough. They’re not straight forward photos, they’ve been through a lot of adjustments on other apps I used before I moved to Affinity to get a larger canvas.
I’d be really grateful for any advise, I really don’t want to lose the previous images from my portfolio but can’t print at a large enough size to sell.
      Thanks

Very interesting tech. But I have a question and observation:
    1. Have you read the TOS of that AI site? What rights do they get to uploaded images? Do they get to scan and use them for facial recognition for AI training? This has become a problem lately.
    2. Is it just me, or did the AI make her pupils square instead of round?
Overall, very cool and interesting...but it does pose some questions....

Thanks so much for doing a tutorial on AI upscaling. I first got into this about 9 months ago with a similar web based service called Lets enhance (dot IO??). I then had some ot and bought Topaz Gigapixel A.I.
My observations: For increasing resolution, especially when dealing with collage/composite that use lots of stacks and alpha / transparent images, this works great. One thing I do look out for is the 'transporter accident' effect (for any trek/sci fi fans)..... eyelids morphed into eyeballs, teeth coming out of lips, etc. Reducing size can help, or you can re-blend original and paint off a mask to let some pixels through. It depends on what is less-bad: eyes that are a bit blurry/pixelated, or eyes that look like a monster. That said, these tools keep getting better. I haven't had to do serious 'fixing' of bad AI in a few months. I'll check out the web site in this video, too. It's an incredible tool that can really bring life into this art. Thanks again for the tutorial! And if you have more ways AP can help bring a final 'human' touch to the AI process, I look forward to it!

    • @AffinityRevolution
