Nice lesson and as always easy to follow. Have you taught vibrato? You make it look so easy and effortless, as opposed to whatever it is I"m doing. ;) I haven't found vibrato in your catalog of lessons so if if it's been done, I'd appreciate a link. If you don't plan on teaching it, and know of a link that goes over the technique I'd appreciate the reference. Thanks.
Loving your fantastic instruction. I'm filling in so many gaps that existed when I taught myself how to play by ear years ago...such as knowledge of the pentatonic scales. I do have a question: what is the benefit of knowing and practicing the p. scales if one already knows the full scales? Thanks!
yes. they sound and feel great. many tunes are strongly pentatonic. and they are great for learning improvisation, which I’m going to start doing lessons on next year...Have you seen the Fiddlehead Facebook page?
Okay, I think I understand at least in part. Knowing which notes to keep in the scale (and which to leave out) gives a sort of short cut to nice sounding improvisation... And yes, I found and "liked" the FB page a few weeks ago.
I know this isn't hard, but for some reason I'm having a hard time with it. I would like to see it on staff paper, if possible. I've searched the internet for these scales on sheet music, but can't find any.

because i'm still training my ear, i like to write the notes as a reference then play, play, play. I'm having trouble seeing your variation practice around the 15min marker. looks like your skiping every 3rd note and going up the scale . is that right or am i off? I want to practice right :)
The BEST tutorial on TH-cam. And, this video, Dont see your cat at the end.

Eventually, will have more sheet music. Not enough time for everything.

Is there such a thing as a minor pentatonic?
+Pteromandias yes it's the 1, 3, 4, 5, and 7 of the dorian scale. bluesy scale
Is it true that the G major pentatonic is also the E minor pentatonic? And the G minor pentatonic is also the B flat major pentatonic?
Different tonics. Different tonal center. Take at look at basicmusictheroy.com. It can answer these kinds of questions for you.
Many thanks
How long you been playing fiddlehead ?
