On the topic of the Origin medium ship. I agree with your stance. I have always felt the gap between the 300 series and the 400i was kinda drastic. The Medium is very popular size ship. This will like mean that we will see many, many more of this size ship. Hopefully they make every ship unique enough to have a reason to fly. It sucks when the new shiny ship invalidates all the previous ones.
They should rebrand the 300 as the 200, being as theres no room for anything between the 100 series and 300 anyways and make a new 300 more in line with the cutlass/freelancer/spirit size
On the speculation front - I think they may not do a medium Aegis hauler. Since they were a military contractor for a long time, some of the lore talks about the rise in popularity of the Retaliator for cargo hauling purposes after the Messer era. Modules created by Aegis after the fact that were civilian-oriented to attempt to capture some of this market after they started to lose their military contracts. It's kind of neat to have gaps like this - it adds a unique flavor to the game. An Aegis medium dropship, or some kind of system patrol/enforcement ship with a bay to confiscate cargo? I could see an old-style, rugged, Messer era design patrolling jump points looking for contraband and ensuring compliance during their reign. I could see these ships making it to the civilian market as refurbished/second hand models like the Retaliators and the Avengers of the verse.
@@ZyvhurStudios Yeah, it fun to think about the lore and how it ties in. Like you were saying in the video (which was great btw), they probably just can't ignore the money these ships bring in. If every ship brings a little variety, and doesn't invalidate something else, then it adds a lot of immersion and makes things feel more believable.
I was just sketching and thinking about how there should be a variety of ships that fit the same niche as the nomad, a sort of open studio on rockets kind of thing. Good for cargo, good for camping, good as a sort of home away from home.
If the Nomad had more range it would be my daily driver. Erkul shows it having an 809 unit fuel tank, not much better than a standard fighter (I could have sworn it had a 900 unit tank). I believe it should have at least a 1500-unit tank (which is still very small for a hauler/explorer-type ship). Even the much smaller Cutter Rambler (Explorer) has a 2940-unit tank and the standard Cutter (starter) has a 1960-unit tank.
You really can't go wrong with any of these ships. One thing that popped into my mind was my belief that the MAX is a vehicle hauler first and general hauler second (and I don't think they'll give it a tractor beam because of this). As a medium hauler that fits a larger URSA in it, I think that offers players a unique choice in the segment. As you said, you could put an ATLS in it if you wanted to as well, but at the same time I'm hoping for those owners that they could simply rent an ATLS at a loading facility (or contract one out). It seems from concept images that the Zeus' ramp is too small to load an URSA, but who knows how that'll shake out. Hopefully we see a meaningful need to transport and use ground vehicles in the future, that'll be awesome.
That's a great point, the MAX's large ramp makes it a very good transport ship, based on the images I could find CIG was showing the zeus with a cyclone which is interesting because RSI makes the URSA
@@ZyvhurStudios Yeah, I was really surprised as well. I just watched the ISC on the Zeus earlier today and I was blown away with the quality. It looked like they had a ROC in the back, so sadly it is looking grim for URSA fitment. 😔
Agree on the Origin ships. The 400i isn't just in an awkward bracket, it also has no gameplay loops outside of flying around and mostly player beacons. But that's a mistake a RL vehicle company might make too, so they could just add another naming scheme, like the 300x, 399, or a different name altogether. Renaming the 400i isn't required at all, just do what a RL vehicle company would do.
I am getting the Zeus when it releases. Right now, I have the C1, I love the ship and I will keep it. _It is actually just the "loaner" for my E1 (I have not applied the upgrade yet)._ I like how the Zeus CL fits in that medium size cargo hauler category and how it will support all the upcoming new gameplay (like engineering) from the start. That said, I will probably melt it when inevitably something newer and shinier in that category comes along...
Imho variety in every class of ships is way to go, and I love to see medium multi role ship from every manufacturerm especially Anvil. Something like slightly bigger cargo variant of terrapin with more firepower vould be avesome.
I really loved the idea of the C1 and it was the perfect size. Unfortunately I just couldn't get into it after finally flying it and I'm hoping that Zeus fills that role that the C1 left for me. Plus the concierge skin for the Zeus is hands down one of my favorite so far. I think they could make a ton of money if they just kept the bigger ships at bay for a while and kept selling smaller/medium sized ships with respectable crew sizes. We have enough big ships already lol.
No we do not have enough large ships. Those of us, and there might be a few, that have paid for large ships are wondering how we are gonna get them when new ships keep coming out instead of building the ones we already paid for.
I agree it seems to take them a really long time to make the bigger ships so I think they should focus on the big concepts the already have and concept smaller stuff for a while
Unfortunately if CIG will stick to current "balance", Zeus with huge cargo bay, and 3 shields will be slow and clumsy like freelancer max. Maybe smaller firepower for a pilot would be a reason to speed up alittle bit this ship, but I don't expect "better C1".So Zeus would be decent cargo ship for solo players, but not so great for HRT's opposite to Cutty and C1.
They might become even more popular with engineering and bigger ships completely lose their viability solo, unless they add too high engineering requirements for these as well. With the 400i not really being multi-role and the 600i getting its crew increased to 8 I feel like I will have to switch to a Zeus.
I would be very interested in a medium Origin or Consolidated Outland ship but for now it's looking like the Zeus will be filling that spot in my fleet.
Could be a my laptop problem but I can barly hear you without using head phones. Other streamers, people in the other buiding can hear them from my laptop. Finished watching the video with subtitles turned on. All the info I was interested in hearing. Thank you for the video. A fully crewed Retailiator with dual cargo bays would be a good cargo option espicially if you are doing missions like blockade running.
If you are flying more in a group i would say a corsair is more interesting, because it has cargo, can damage even when soloing. Cargo is your priority , the Taurus is a better choice because the Zeus will have less then advertised if you want to keep access to your systems, for engineer gameplay. If ithe Zeus is fully loaded access will be blocked. I am torn , I dont know if I will keep the CL or ccu it
The Zeus variants all seem to be majorly outclassing their Cutlass equivalents. The Zeus MR seems like it will have a far more functional interior to that of the Cutlass Blue (though the Blue may wind up having more prisoner pod space); and, the Zeus CL far outshines the Cutlass Black in cargo capacity. Hopefully, CIG will get around for a second, much needed, rework of the Cutlass series in order to bring them up to the Zeus' new standard.
@@Solar546 when said I you fly it only solo, I said you can, or not? how the Zeus perfomes is unknown, nothing is factual just a bare minimum of data but if I compare it roughly to better tanked, not bugged as hell Cutlass and if i could choose I would rather go headon against 2 of it then one fully manned Corsair.
Honestly, I know its not as exciting but I would love to see CIG focus on building out a lot of the industrial ships on the backlog. Right now, its most combat ships of capital class. Only whales and orgs are going to buy those, but small groups and freelancers might be interested in some of the refinery ships. Dare I dream that my endeavor ever get put on the progress tracker? Now they are talking about taking the backer money and building a whole other game. That gives me that forgotten feeling.
You're absolutely right entry level industrial under served! I don't know if the trademark is a new game I think it will be the name of their sever tech, just like "star engine" is their main game tech
There is actually a non-blurred picture available on the Pipeline leaks Discord of that ship. Leaks claim that it's the Mirai Guardian. It looks like a Vanguard competitor that takes many cues from the Fury; but, with many differences to the shape.
Honestly I keep going between a Corsair and the c1. I just despise the doors in the c1. I wish crusader would make a ship with no interior doors lmao. The Corsair is too damn big most of the time when I’m alone tho. It’s nice to have but can be a real pain. So I’m not sure. I wish there was a medical variant for the c1. Idk. Something where it’s as easy to use as a reliant kore but holds as much as a c1.
Those doors look like they'll be very useful once CIG finally adds in the room system for ships. Once they do, decompression of compartments will become a thing (either through opening doors to space or weapon damage punching holes through the hull). Being able to vent the air out of a compartment will also soon be part of fire fighting gameplay as well. What the Crusader ships (especially the C series and the Star Runner) really need is a secondary entrance/exit closer to cockpit. That's one lesson that the Zeus series seems to have taken to heart.
An Anvil with half a C2's deck would be great. Don't they have a Bearcat that beat the Cutty Black in the competition? Sounds like my favorite new ship...
It's a step up in the chain This things gonna be like double the price of the cutty black in game. I like the idea of better ships with similar crews, I don't wanna get 5 more people to play with in order to get a better ship
