      @@Axeonfluke It's good as a starter, but it doesn't quite have the maneuverability as a fighter, any medium class ship will look in it's direction and it's gone. It doesn't have enough storage to do hauling. it's more for getting your feet wet in the verse.
      It doesn't get changed because ships have to start somewhere. and it's comparable to the other starters at the cheaper pledges.

      @@OneTomato You can have a very dangerous setup if you are not using standard receivers and they seem to give 20 000 capacitor capacity per turret.
      Wierdly enough, the Hammerhead has a crazy capacitor capacity.

    Diverting power on the triangle makes the shields more powerful by changing the damage resistance of the shields. The HP value does not change when you allocate full power to shields, but it takes more damage to deplete the same amount of shield hp. Full power to shields also makes them start to recover much faster if they are completely depleted.
    Having more power available from power plants does not change weapons shot capacity, those are governed by the weapon hardpoints own capacitors and modified by the power triangle. In the future, many ships will not have enough power plants to run all their systems in combat mode, and will drain batteries if you wish to do so. More power plants means more redundancy and will make it harder for an enemy to knock out all power on your ship either with distortion weapons or direct targeting when they penetrate your shields.
    Edit: Also, the Zeus MK II ES is the exploration model. It has more shields and a scanning turret, while the MR (Marque) has more armor and a weapons turret.

    I'm hopping they change their mind on the Redeemer guns. There taking the teeth away from the Redeemer on the size 5 to 4. This really sucks

      I always thought size 5 x2 turret on a ship that small seemed strange. The Carrack only has size 4 x2 turrets. Connies only get x2 size 3 turrets.

      @@Marcelo-o4i3wthe difference is that the carrack is an exploration vessel and the redeemer is supposed to be a beast of a gunship with 4 massive guns I get maybe toning down the shields a bit as armor starts to get implemented but downgrading the gun size is just dumb

    15:15 The 400i is a Luxury ship and the 350r is a racing ship. if you remove shields from it, it doesn't need the extra power, and if weight starts being an issue, then 1 power plant is lighter than two, and you don't need to power shields and weapons. At least the 400i has 2 s4 guns, whereas the MSR has 2 s3, but I'm very happy with the increase to a S3 shield. The MSR is not a fighter.

    I don't think the Gladiator will loose his S5 torpedos, they just says that the WINGS missiles hardpoints will now be S4, they don't say anything about the torps.

      Correct. The turret and torpedo armaments remain untouched, the pilot weapons and underwing hardpoints change in size

    None of this matters AT ALL in the long run- No metrics are set. Shields, hulls, weapons will continue to change.
    this is something for youtubers to rant about and the squeaky wheel overreactors in community to freak about until the next thing. In my opinion so many of the ship weapons look comically oversized in SC. The Redeemer looked the dumbest with the size 5's. The Corsair looks bad too. People want to talk about aerodynamics and adding realism to control surfaces while zipping around in a ship lookin like a Siberian Unicorn. The flight model is going to continue to change and evolve and with it ship weapons and components.

    Loaner ships are always ships that are flyable in game. The Zeus doesn't exist yet. They will most likely update the loaner matrix once the Zeus CL/ES are out.

      Very likely, yea. They've usually updated the loaner of variants once the first variant was released. Which one I don't know. My guess is the ES.

      @TheRealManni The most accurate loaner is the Cutlass Blue. It's in the same general class, is the same tier for the profession it is slated for, and has the same, general, capabilities. Not releasing the MR is just a cop out. We already have bounty hunting in game. The MR doesn't suffer any more than any of the other 3 bounty hunting ships currently in game, and adds something the others don't have, both a Quantum dampener and an EMP.

      you are not buying a ship, you are founding the development and as a “gift” you get a ship depending on how you spend
      these ships will change, don’t expect them to be the same after the development continue

      @@novesium1 redeemer is a very “”old”” ship, most of the design of it is outdated, of course a lot stuff change, it probably need another nerf to the shield when armor is released.
      You also need to remember that a lot of the stats where very overturned for testing purpose

      @@OneTomato Naw, Redeemer should have 1 S3 shield, same flight as a connie and two turrets with quad 4's on them like slim downed hammerhead turrets. Connies and Corsairs can do everything well, 1 player with TONS of firepower, shields and better flight properties, more missiles, cargo space. Redeemer is a dedicated gunship, will have 1/3 the shields of a multi role freighter less fire power with 3 people then a corsair has with one. Doesn't make sense. I don't own a Redeemer but I don't think multi role ships should be better in every way over dedicated role ships of the same size. but we shall see how it goes! :D

    Per the latest Inside SC, having s2 sheilds rather than s3 shields will allow for hot swapping, they just said you can't swap s3 and above with a tractor beam, I don't know the layout of the redeemer as far as bringing extra parts, but for a multi crew combat ship, hot swapping a shield seems pretty handy

    Something to remember about the changes to shields is that in the future they're also going to have armour as part of the ships, so it is possible that the Redeemer is going to get quite a lot of armour on it to compensate for those shield changes. The same with a few of the other ones that seem like the shields are a bit low.

    Happy about the Mercury upgrade but wish they upped the gun size by 1, S3's are woeful on a ship like that. But with all these changes we should reserve judgment until they've adjusted their flight metrics.

      I wish they upped the guns on the 600i... Such a slow massive ship, yet it fires only 3x s5 while a few other ships that are much smaller and faster have more

    Vanguards did have more power than they needed by a lot. I used to throw eclipse power plants on at 5k generation each and had way more than I needed. The eclipse power plants are the stealth variants.

    I think for the most part this makes a lot of sense. With the resource networks coming online ships like the redeemer probably didn't have enough power supply to even run two times size 3 shields. The only thing I would have liked to see is the crusader spirit series getting one extra shield to make it more similar to the zeus and now 400i

    Still not sure what a larger power plant will help (f.e. on the Carrack, the ship currently most gypped as nothing really works, not even using it on cargo runs). The only thing an additional power plant currently changes is a larger EM signature - which is a debuff. The firepower of ships and long-term DPS depends on the capacitors of the ship, not the power plant.

    Great recap but the gladiator is NOT losing torpedos. It states the MISSILE hard points. The torpedo rack is not changed, they are seperate ordnance points

    Looking at all the ships that get nerfed, none of them are beeing sold now (exception is the Gamma for 60 euro). Also, there is a price increase incoming for the buffed ships.
    I have the feeling that marketing is heavily involved in these changes as well ...

      Hehe it’s really just a meme thing at that point with the bombs right? We tried dropping and catching them to throw them on ships in space. But they even made it so that the bombs teleport away when you leave the atmosphere and try to quantum jump with the bomb on tractor beam

    Ithink a big part of some of the changes to raising the number of shields and power plants is for redundancy, if you get 1 shot out you dont loose everything. Pretty soon soft death and hard death wont be a thing so if you have your Powerplant shot out its the same as a soft death.

    Its like they are going out of their way to anger the backers. The dogs breakfast that is MM and now this. Its the equivalent to buying a CO8 vette only to have GM show up a year later and putting a limiter on it even though you own the car. Left a few months ago and havent seen anything dropped or planned to drop that will entice me to come back. And some words for the wise- Gray market your ships before the market sees a surplus and they are worth next to nothing. The only problem I had was dealing with the embarrassment when I realized just how much Ive spent.

    The Carrack needs its cargo issues addressed. Maybe with its drones, and other features it would make sense...but until then, it needs some love. Its nice the Valk got some love, but it would have been better to upgrade the pilot weapons instead of the wings. The Valk still isn't worth the crew, but it is better than it was. They are very hesitant to buff it and when they do its minimal. Plus, for its price, there's no point in getting or having the Valk.
    The Redeemer did need a nerf, it was a mini Hammerhead with less people, which wasn't it's role. Glad to see the interceptors (Buc) getting balanced.

    The additional power plants and coolers are for redundancy. If omes damaged you arent dead. Most of these make sense, the 400i losing its redundant components is weird though being a relatively lomg range explorer

    @TheRealManni the real advantage with The Harbinger having 2 power plants is you could run with 1 on & 1 off & if u get hit with a EMP you had a spare powerplant you could fire up on the spot
    other then that not sure what good it was.

    Redeemer? 1 size 3 shield, same flight as a connie, turrets should be quad size 4's like the Scorpius turret. This would make it more fire power the a connie and corsair, but require 3 people to do it. size 5's look funny on the small frame, but why fly a redeemer after this? less guns, missiles and shields then a connie or corsair, it is worse at being a gunship then two multirole freighters, its gunship is it's only role.

    reclaimer have 3x S3 shields not 2, 3x S3 coolers not just 1,
    redeemer has 2 2xS5 turrets not 3.
    Gladiator will retain its S5 torps, whats changing is the S3 hardpoints for missiles on the wings, they are going up to S4.
    Some misinformation, but overall good video.

    RIP redeemer. I thought it's balancing was fine. And if they really wanted to fix the MSR they'd give the pilot either 2 size 4s or at least let the pilot slave the bottom turret. Two size 3s on a ship that size that blows up so fast to a fighter is ridiculous. 6 size 3s for a group of 3 is not enough damage to scare off anything.

      It's not a CR concept - it was concepted, designed, and finalisecd by the young lady that got a lot of video time with Jared, then left CIG after the 400i was flyable. If it's not a CR original thought, it gets nerfed into space dust.

    It doesn't say anywhere I can find that the gladiator is losing its torps. The wing mounts are all currently size 2, and the torps are held in an internal bay. My question is are we getting 8S4 to replace the 8S2 or will it be 4 singl s4 mounts. Im hoping for the former so I can swap up to 4 additional s5 torps or down to 16 S3

      Wing pylons work like this - 1 size 4 hardpoint = 1 S4 missile, or 423 rack + 2 S3 missiles, or 424 rack + 4 S2 missiles, or 418 rack + 8 S1 missiles. Look up the missile racks to mount on the hardpoints at the kiosk in Centrefire or similar stores in-game.

    Gladiators don't carry the Torps on the wings. The Torps on the Gladiator are in the bay.
    Power plants doesn't change the capicators.

    we were promised ship and component rebalance in 3.15, that never happened. And until Armor is added, nothing they do now will balance ships. In fact its wasting more time and backer money

    the carrack is not a capital ship so they cant give it a size 4 shield which is a capital one

      Hm, I would argue its the type of ship that kind of needs it to be relevant. Just keep in mind that you really need lots of people to make it even useful, plus the cargo part is still not working after years. Wouldnt have been a wrong thing to give it something

      400i needed a buff, redeemer would be in a better place with 1 S3 shield, same flight as a connie and 2 x quad size 4 slim profile turrets. It should be able to take out multirole freighters that can do every role well in at least combat as a dedicated gunship.

    With this nerf of the Redeemer it will be in the same class like the Hoplite. So the Redeemer becomes a very expensive Dropship. Sad.

    Gladiator is 100% a nerf Size 4 missiles are a joke the ship can't dogfight at all so what good does giving the pilot size 4 weapons matter. The torpedos was what made the ship viable. Redeemer got gutted. 100% people bought that ship because of the weapons and shields it was advertised with now it's being removed.

      no, I made a mistake here with the Gladiator. The Torpedos seem to stay. It only gets better Missiles and larger guns.

      On the Gladiator - use those size 4 hardpoints to mount size 4 missiles (or double the number of size 3's) - size 3's already have a 12km lock and fire range with 16km - 24km flight range ... so use them as faster but smaller torpedoes, as well as using the size 5 torps. Fly to the ship's strengths - i.e. stand away engagement and sub-capital weakeners. If you get in a dogfight in a Gladiator (or the WW2 Dauntless it was based on) then you're using it wrong.

    The redeemer is completely useless as is.
    If they drop the weapon size and shields while increasing maneuverability and turret traversal rate, then the Redeemer can finally fulfill its role as a gunship.
    This is a buff.

      Dropship was it's original role (more of a special forces insert & extract ship actually) but when it had the John Crewe redesign and went to flyable, he announced it was now a drop ship support and covering-fire gunship for ground insertions. I wish they'd increase it's computer power so it can be used for covert ops data theft - currently we only have the Herald, Freelancers, and MSR with that capability ... none of which you'd want to take into a hot LZ - and the Terrapin does not have the firepower to go there.

      @@TheRealManni 36k shields is a guaranteed ship loss when using Redeemer as air cover for a Valkyrie in a hot Landing or Extraction Zone (LZ/EZ) - shows CIG staff do not play their ships outside of 60-second test envirtonments and do not understand the military role buzzwords they throw around.

    I fly the harbinger as main figther.
    I like this ship but it is not a strong figther. The harbinger is one of the weakest figther of all.
    The ship is slow. The pilot firepower is the same like the cutlass with 4 S3 Weapons. The turrent has also just 2 x S3 guns like the cutlass.
    In pvp you will loose most figths against smaller and bigger ships.
    In pve, it is ok, but not 10 Mio auc worth!
    Harbinger is so expensive and so weak!
    Never buy this ship again. Better buy Hornet, corsair, Constellation...all this are cheaper and better!
    Harbinger should be rebalanced, must be stronger.

      @@TheRealManni Because the game is being played as its being built always adding more things power creep, meta habits of players, and holes in the selection of ship brands capabilities or placeholder mechanic being replaced forces them to turn things on its head at times. Sometime a ship gets nerfed or outright broken for a while, sometimes it gets buffed or OP for a while. It's the process most studios keep hidden until the end for a reason lol.

    They really nerfed the 400i into the ground. It was supposed to be a small but beefy ship with redundancies that was meant to run away from fights using its speed and strong shields, with master modes now it simply can't make use of its speed anymore, not to mention that it is completely incapable of fighting which makes it a sitting duck.

      Yeah... i'm pretty disappointed in CIG. That's the only ship i actually spent real cash on.
      Ok, this one, the Cutter Scout and the Aurora starter pack of course. But the main purpose of the 400i (to get around solo comfy without the constant fear of getting destroyed) seems to be completely demolished now. Why did they do this? Years ago they advertise it as fast and safe, then they reduce the top speed, remove the shields from fast flight speeds and now take away 2/3 of the coolers and power plants. (While adding more to the other ships!)
      I'll not give them any more money now. As if MM would not be a shot in the knee already. First they tell you it all depends on your personal skill development and then they change the game to some kind of DPS crap and reduce the skill ceiling. So you really don't have a chance anymore with your totally nerfed ship. 😢
