What is the Video about?
To give you a brief, UCC is a proposal in India that is aimed at replacing personal laws based on religions, customs, and traditions with one common law for everyone irrespective of religion, cast, creed, sexual orientation, and gender.
This means that existing personal laws based on religion like the Hindu marriage act (1955), the Hindu succession act (1956), and the Muslim personal law application act (1937), will technically be dissolved. After Triple Talaq being declared Unconstitutional, other practices like Polygamy, Nikah Halala etc have been debatable and against Fundamental Rights of an individual.
Given the debate around the topic I have tried to explain the concept and its consequences inside-out.
From the history of personal laws to the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, this video discusses everything and in an easy to understand manner.
Why is it in the news Now?

It is because of your hindu personal laws you are getting tax benefits as hindu undivided family. A non hindu is not getting such benefits which this video by ms jain failed to address. It is because of sikhs personal laws he is allowed to carry a religious dagger or knife anywhere unrestricted and he is exempted from wearing a helmet while riding a two wheeler or else non sikhs cannot carry a knife or get helmet exemption. I am whole heartedly supporting ucc if it removes polygamy and child marriage and special tax benefits to any one religious group.

Hi Priya, you explained it correctly. But still there wont be any effect of indian laws on muslim men. Even if there is UCC, they will still continue to bully the state as well as muslims women.
You also have to consider a video on a case where people went to court asking for banning of 5 verses from the holybook, citing it is violating the consitutional values. But SC didnt agree to their demands. So clearly religious freedom is above constitution.
The thing you said whether it can be added to bundle of fundamental rights is difficult. According to me, if implemented, it will kind of enforce fundamental rights or keep a proper check on personal laws not skipping the boundaries of fundamental rights. For me, it is basically a kind of legislative enforcement or interference to make fundamental rights more supreme.

I fell that UCC is a very sensitive initiative and it should be implemented with utmost care and planning so that it wouldn't disrespect the customs of the religions. Article 14 is right to equality.. But on the very basic level.. still we call people as lower caste or backward and it is in operation in society.. The word 'Backward' is derogatory and against the article 14 of Constitution of India.. It might sound simple.. but by saying continuously, I am BACKWARD.. it reaches ur sub conscious mind.. This topic even encompasses the inequality in name of caste...

Explained very well🎉. UCC is not a pro hindu or against muslim law. Its just a common law which will promote feeling of equality among citizens. This law will be more beneficial for the female population as it is going to give equal marital rights to all. We all should support this law irrespective of our religion.

UCC is much needed. We can check its pros and cons when it will be applied first in Uttrakhand. I think the state that supports UCC should first apply it. And then later other states can follow them.
Uttarakhand has many Hindu tribes who follow their own set of rules, so it would be worth applying UCC there and seeing the results
@@humanbeing6838 hey here, till now no tribe has expressed any opposition.Apart from that members of tribes in uttarakhand hold top bureaucratic positions and are one of the most progressive and successful community so if they want to interrupt UCC implementation they would have done it already and pretty much gained success in it too but it seems that they don't have any problem regarding it till now.
