A truly superb performance in every respect. This is one of those rare instances wherein the live version easily equals the studio version. In fact, I'd say it surpasses the studio version in its passion, intensity, and energy. Absolutely friggin' brilliant!
It's crazy how fans throw shade at this post-TFF divorce album. Roland managed to to produce an exceptional follow up to iconic STS of Love. If Curt had been a part of this record, it would get a lot more love. Consider that most artists experience epic face plants after major break-ups. This is as good as their previous work. The decline indeed happened on his next album, but this song is TFF pantheon worthy.
Used to play this CD loud in the car , the lyrics are free therapy.. Love this guy , he always gives his best, consummate live performer . I saw his show in 93 , when he toured this album. Also saw them in 2010, audience of 17,000, after they got back together
I saw TFF live I 1993 for Elemental and in 1996 for Raoul and the King of Spain. His voice is actually more power live than in recording. I actually believe he held back the power during tge recording sessions. He blew e TF away with the beauty and power of his live singing.
It's mad how underrated Roland Olazabal is. To be one of the best and most influential songwriters (eg cough cough Mansun) of your generation is impressive enough. But to be that and also be one of the best golfers of your generation is incredible.
