    A proper test would be using the same boat for each motor test

      Yes i should have done that but I was just doing speed test to show who’s boat and motor combo was the fastest

    That Mercury and Evinrude were both made by Tohatsu. Any speed difference comes down to boat type and propeller selection.

    I recently bought two non running 6 hp 2 stroke motors. One is a 1969 Evinrude and the other is a 1969 Johnson, and after some minor carb rebuilding, new fuel pumps, and an impeller replacement, they both run really well. I plan to get one of them out on the lake in a couple weeks paired with my 14 ft flat bottom Jon Boat. The speeds shown on each of your engines is about what I'm hoping for. Somewhere around 17 mph. Nice video.

    Great video lads. I just got myself a new Suzuki 6hp 4 stroke (DF6A) and an inflatable but looking to get a tinny for it too. Surprised the bigger Sea Jay 350 was so quick !
    Was expecting the traveller to be the quickest.
    Great work

      Yea the seajay nomad tinny go so good I also have another mate with a 370 nomad and that still goes really good
      The nomad tinnys with 6hp evenrude or mercs go perfect together

    After watching this I'm going with a 6hp 4 stroke Tohatsu on a 1990 3.6m Stacer and yeah no boat licence required.
    What really surprised me is the get up and go they all have and at first I thought they'd be put, put, put.

    I have the same mercury 6 hp 2017 but my boat has a gullwing shape. İt goes maximum 9-10 mph and the engine runs with way less rev. How can I make more speed?

    • @DraysFishing
      @DraysFishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really shore bro most of the time it depends on how much weight Is in the boat but could also be to big of a prop if it’s not stock.

      Hi guys. anti cavitation plate (a flat plate just above prop) must set at same horizontal level of lowest boat bottom aft. Some say it is better if you get it half inch higher. So combination of design measurements of your boat and engine plays big role.
      P/s ; for Suzuki 6hp should use 6inch prop to get around 5k rpm or slightly higher.
