Yes, unfortunately somehow, probably due to it being found in old dictionaries copied onto some websites, the term “barrel organ” has persisted as a catch-all for all outdoor mechanical organs, even though it only truly properly refers to those organs (indoor and outdoor) which play from a pinned cylinder. The correct terms are street organ, band/fairground organ, or dance organ, depending upon the type of use and tonal scheme of the instrument. Some indoor cylinder instruments are known as “flute clocks”; chamber” barrel organs, “salon” barrel organs, or “orchestrions” depending upon their disposition and construction.
Different arrangers use different software. I don’t know what he is using in the video, but at least two programs are available especially for arranging music for automatic organs. One was developed by Melvyn Wright in around 1988(!) and is available from him on his website here. Even some quartz clocks too electronically imitates the tunes played by barrel organ to mark the hours. Both electronic keyboard and quartz musical clocks contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker.
