    I've seen these as a kid.
    One of the many attractions in seaside resorts.

    Small organs like this are still being produced to this day but the modern examples instead of pinned cylinders use paper rolls or even MIDI so have an unlimited repertoire.

    I have been there many times as a lot of my friends work there, last year i was allowed to play some of the bigger organs.

    They are well made in wood Nowadays they'd be out of plastic. 😲 Much appreciated.

      none of the main street organ manufacturers I know make them out of plastic... maybe some plastic parts, but 90% wood still today

      They are still made. Still out of wood. plastics don't work that well

      @@storiesofart Uw enthousiasme en kennis volstaan. Ik ben wel altijd gefascineerd geweest door automaton(s). De V&D in Haarlem had heel vroeger die kast met muzikale aapjes ... (weet je nog wel, oudje).
