Starting 2024 as a brand new seller on EBay….excited, nervous and soaking up all the knowledge I can from experienced sellers, like you, Mike. I appreciate you sharing your experiences as a seller so freely. It really helps other sellers. God’s richest blessings to you in the new year!
If you want to soak up the most knowledge on what possibly to look for QUICK I spent months on marketplace 3-4 hours a day looking up EVERYTHING to get an idea of what’s worth money. Not only did I learn fast but I got some killer deals so it was like getting paid to study for my career. Lol
My best skill is to solve problems and put new ideas into practice. There are always ideas rolling around in my head.
Looking back, I jumped into things without having a safety net or a completed plan in place. "What was I thinking"? At times, my wife thought I was crazy but she always supported me.
I was already established on ebay when covid hit. No problem going to Walmart, the grocery store, drug store, or convenience store.
Thrift stores, mom & pop stores, government agencies and restaurants were suddenly off limits. Beaches were open, but there were always some nut job protesting this.
Since we were doing mostly clothing, the plan needed to evolve.
I was already selling a little on ebay Motors and my sources were deemed essential along with USPS & FedEx.
I decided to go all in. Light traffic on the road made zipping around great and competition mostly disappeared. Business exploded and I haven't slowed down since then.
Nice, That was me too. Covid drove business to me and my sales went WAY UP.

If you need a haircut, George Clooney recommended a FlowBee. LOL That's something to BOLO. Since he said that's how he cuts his hair, the price on those have gone up tremendously.
I have cut my own hair before and last time I did that, oh my word. Horrors. A friend took me to her beautician and got me a haircut for my birthday. Grateful. It needs cutting yet again. Very aggravating.

Thank you!!! I was out walking my dogs running numbers in my head, walked in the door - opened TH-cam and there was your video. I was a part time reseller and working myself crazy for other people full time, in a career that I loved but didn't love me back. Reselling became all I had when a job ended and another fell through in early October. I've always felt that I found reselling for a reason, I tried it so many times over the years but I got it down this time around. I've now been debating whether to keep doing this full time, what it would take to scale it to make my desired salary and see what comes next, or whether to apply for some traditional jobs. This would be my second time as an entrepreneur. I agree - there is magic here. I've always followed the path as it appeared, I just didn't see this change coming! I thought I was called to be on my original path. But I think I know the answer to why. Thank you for this video. I come from a family of male entrepreneurs - all older generations and passed on so can't get into their minds! Appreciate you sharing your entrepreneurial journey and encouragement. Happy New Year Mike! I really related to your video today! In 2004 I took a buy out from my job and started my own business-quilting. I was pretty successful and worked hard. But this past June I burned out. I had started selling on eBay and loved it and quilting was just not fun anymore. Sold it. My family was worried that I would regret my sudden decision. Nope. I turned my "quilting house" into a VRBO. Tons of work but I am loving the journey!

I feel like I'm losing it, haven't been able to source / list for 3 weeks and sales have shown it. I had to use promoted listings just to get any traffic this week. 😅
It cycles back and forth. Really has periods of highs lows. You really have to stick with it.
Have you changed your reprice it setting s? I so can you share with us, for some reason some days my repricer just gives me the minimum price.

My question is not on what you talked about. Can you tell me how to put my own inventory number on my listing so when the item sells you can go to the item using your own number system? I could not figure it out when I had my hub open to develop an item to list. I enjoyed your talk and I hope it doesn't take me too long to figure out things.
