I fell in love with their sound via Doll$Boxx first and then followed them when they expanded/evolved. Hana (the Blue haired drummer from Doll$Boxx and Also early Gachapin; here she plays 2nd guitar, the Redhead is Tomo-Zo and is lead guitar for the group. Angelina (Angie) is the pink haired young lady out front doing some of the vocals. She was was a replacement and when she started... ONLY 17. Unfortunately there is a sad aspect to her joining. The girl she replaced had an illness that forced her to stop and then unfortunately, claimed her life. Angie has a beautiful voice in "clean form" when SINGING, she also does some false fold growls that I dare say would give Tatiana of Jinjer the chills. The Keyboardist is Oreo Reona and one of the early members as is F-Chopper Koga (Bass) {Yeah, I don't get that name either.} All in all they are ENERGY personified and magnificent talents!
I call their style Jazz Metal Fusion! I'm Maidiac to the bone because I'm a traditional blues based rock and roll Guy. But the talent and creativity of this band is off the charts!!! I smoke too much weed to play stuff like this. No matter how high I am I can do a blues set. This is LSD music LoL! Great band. Rock on brother 😊😎🤘✌️❤️🔥
Indeed, no band sounds like GACHARIC SPIN (they call themselves “GACHAPIN” for short).
And don’t forget about MAXIMUM THE HORMONE.
Everyone complains about the mix on GS lived but sometimes it’s what they want and not what the average viewer is used to.
When they had fuki singing lead in songs like shout down, a lot of metal reviewers showed up but weren’t usually satisfied on Hana’s take on metal. Tends to be a little bit jazzy with levels moving up and down in unusual patterns. Also nearly all the metal head could not understand why the lead guitar wasn’t the loudest thing out there like it is in America. The guitar part in GS is very complex and just a lot of fast old notes.
Also a lot of these video’s really aren’t set up for official production. They do a lot of stuff for their fans and some of us going to be some cameras, a few miles and a jam session…or hana tap dancing while uri plays Hana’s
Cajun box thingy.

Maximum the Hormone is another favorite of mine (actually BAND-MAID, Maximum the Hormone and Gacharic Spin are my 3 favorite japanese bands), you should definitely start with the song "Yoshū Fukushū" ;)
You should also check out the band DOLL$BOXX with the song "Take My Chance". DOLL$BOXX is composed of 4 Gacharic Spin members + Fuki, the singer of Unlucky Morpheus

I'd agree the mix is a bit odd on this track, but I assume they're trying to make everything audible - quite challenging given some of their complex arrangements. Over the last few years they have been trying to move away from backing tracks in their live performances, so maybe they're still experimenting with how to get the best sound. I think many will share your view about lead guitarist TOMO-ZO being under used, but GS aren't a metal band. (They do have a couple of rock-oriented side projects though, Metallic Spin doing classic rock covers and DOLL$BOXX taking GS ideas in a more metal direction.) One thing you'll always get from GS is entertainment, so if you dig back into their earlier material you'll get a fair few WTF moments. There's a lot to discover, not just from GS, but Japanese music in general.

The best way I can describe how eclectic the bands songwriting is,imagine if you put Foo Fighters,Red Hot Chili Peppers,Paramore with healthy doses of Deftones,Bloc Party and Depeche Mode in a blender.
