great video. This is exactly my problem with taillight. Thanks for the web site for new tail lamp housing. I am going to buy it.
To remove bulb sockets heat with hair dryer, after bulb socket removal clean contact with 360 grit sand paper. The use of conduct grease, to prevent oxidation , will help in the long run. I have not had this problem come back after using this procedure. Good luck!
Great info, thanks
My daughter's friend backed into our 2002 Grand Cherokee Overland, so I need to replace the passenger side taillight assembly. Is there a reason both rear brake lights now don't work? Are they wired in series?
It is possible they are wired together, I would check for a blown fuse or pinched wire.
Thank you, especially about that nub!!! I was like, oh man I don’t wanna crack anything, so thanks
Glad I could help!
What kind of tent shelter do you have and size
10x20 from Harbor Freight. Thanks for watching.
Jeep used that light in production until 11- 1- 2002. Then got rid of the circuit light.
Check the production date of your jeep on the sticker in the drivers door.
I got lucky. Removed bulbs. Cleaned sockets with tuner cleaner. Put back together all works. Thx for you post very helpful because I was not sure how to remove lens Assembly and was afraid to pull. Lol
That piece that is glued on is the circuit board and you need to heat it up with a heat gun to get it off. I did that a few years ago and now i have no brake light on the drivers side. Bulb is fine, parking light works just no brake light. I went to remove the socket and it's so old and brittle it just cracked. So today, I'm replacing everything. I'm fully expecting some kind of problem because with this goofy design because I've never been able to quickly change out a bulb with out issues.
Thanks for the comments
@@AxlesGaragethat is my problem and that did not answer the question
Don't you just love modern cars. You have to buy a whole tail light just to change a $2.00 bulb.
Yes indeed
These aren't even that modern anymore. Buddy of mine has a Ford fusion and to replace a headlight he has to take almost the entire front end of the car. It's unbelievable.
Thanks Axel! I couldn't even get the damn housing out to look at what's wrong. I think I have a bad ground, as the tail lights are really really dark, and the police don't like that!
Glad to help
"release the tab and pull the harness out".... the only step i needed to see...🙄 and nothing.
Pretty easy once you look at it in person. You'll get it fine.
