    I just wish kalidescape would either one of the premium HDR formats like Dolby Vision or HDR10+ since they are paying the licenses to utilize Dolby Atmos and playing up to Loseless 4k HDR. Since these devices are pretty expensive to buy and get into. It would just cool if they added that for their consumers who have the chance of buying one.

    I would buy one if I had the money. I do prefer some things my Zappiti with the R-Volution software does. I think the animated movie info page is better than the Kalidescape. I’m surprised that Kalidescape hasn’t revamped how it looks and it’s a bit dated now especially considering the cost.

    If Kaleidescape (or anyone, really) would let me buy and download online, and then own the content on my existing NAS, I'd be a customer. Right now it seems like the choice is manual ripping and storage and management, or hand-held walled garden. I do object to the feudal nature of vendor lock-in, but I also understand why a niche product like this chooses that path. That doesn't make me happy about it, but I don't feel the need to throw any shade. What's honestly horrifying is not the Kaleidescapes of the world, it's the Disneys of the world that don't feel like they make enough billions and wouldn't let a "download to a NAS" product ship ... ever. Because "piracy." The bogeyman of every stupid executive since at least the 80s when all manner of ridiculous forms of copy protection existed for games (plug this dongle into your parallel port to play the game....jesus). You want to know why it's expensive in either time or money -- Disney, Warner Bros, Universal (Comcast), Sony, Paramount. They paradoxically make it difficult for the people who love their content.

      Yes BUT many studios offer substantial discounts to repurchase on the platform. There is a process to load via a dvd player each disc you own and then you will quickly get offers from studios to buy on Kscape. This is cool and you could buy cheap movies in various places and then upgrade to higher quality versions on Kscape for typically $4.95, $9.95 or sometimes more.

    Kscape is for people with more money than sense. You are paying literally 8000x more per gigabyte than running your own nas, on top of that you get a tiny amount of storage, AND you need a 3000$ player for each source lmao. AND still pay for each movie. It’s a great idea, but terrible execution. Sad to see you promoting nonsense

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      What's sad to see is your negative attitude. I know plenty of people that own Kaleidescape, most of which are extremely intelligent, professionals or business owners. Some are CEO's of companies. Have you ever heard the phrase, "Time is money?". I pay someone to maintain my lawn. Am I lazy? Nope. I'm a VERY hard worker. But I also have 3 businesses and starting up a 4th so I would rather pay someone to do what I do not want to spend my time doing so that I can focus on other things that are more important.
      The same can be said of Kaleidescape. For some, they are more than happy to pay the premium for a luxury product that they can easily find a movie they want to purchase or rent, click a button and that's all that is needed.
      Do whatever works best for you. But to criticize how someone else spends their hard earned money just comes across as jealousy and judgmental.

      My content is for everyone. The 960 videos on my channel include budget friendly products (KLH, Klipsch, Monoprice, Hisense, Polk Audio etc), mid-tier products (Arendal, MartinLogan, JTR, Epson, etc) and high end products (Kaleidescape, madVR, Wisdom Audio etc).
      Why is it the only flac I get is when I share a high end product? In the 6 years I have been sharing my passion for Home Theater on TH-cam, I do not recall one comment where someone was disappointed that I made a video talking about a budget friendly product. Not one.
      Should someone that can afford Wisdom Audio, madVR and Kaleidescape be frustrated because I make a video review a pair of $300 speakers? No that's silly. They simply don't watch the video if they are not interested in the product. Or if they do watch the video, they simply say that's not what I'm interested in for my setup.
      I do find it interesting how many people get offended or disappointed in me when I speak about a product that doesn't fit within their budget.

      liam, I really wish you would watch my other videos before making a judgement about me. I have (4) videos on Zidoo and R_volution. R_volution is sending me the new 8K model.
      Why would it be a shame for me to share products from all different price points? Some might say how dare I share a $3,000 media player because it's not affordable to them. That's silly bro.
      As I have shared in my videos on Kaleidescape, it's absolutely a luxury item. It's not marketed towards the masses. I have also shared if you don't mind putting in the work to buy the hardware and learn how to rip your movies in a 1:1 copy and setup a NAS server, go for it! Again, that is not the market that Kaleidescape is targeting.
      Kscape markets towards those who have the financial means who want a simple, easy to use, reliable product that anyone can use to purchase or playback content. If that doesn't fit your needs, there are plenty of other products that do.
      I wish you would come back to reality and realize there are more than just you that I am making content for. With 130,000 subscribers, there are people with varying amounts of disposable income. I will continue to review super budget friendly products, all the way up to high end products. Thanks for understanding.
