    The direction you paint the pvc glue changes the direction of the cracks. For a lava type look paint X strokes with your brush. For wider cracks make the glue thicker in those areas.

    I tried this method and love it. My only additional tip is using a match to heat up the base in specific spots. But be careful because too much heat will Warp the plate.

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ooo i think the risk of burning the plastic and getting those fumes in my lungs or burning my fingers would put me off doing that. What difference does it make?

    • @benjaminrogers8875
      @benjaminrogers8875 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MightyLancerGamesJust guessing but the heat would cause it to dry less evenly, so you'll get spots with different sizes of cracks.

    • @MightyLancerGames

      It is designed to dry naturally (we are impatient and use a hairdryer on low) but i still wouldn’t risk a match, it would take forever 😂😂

      I’ve been my bases from thinks I can salvage or get at the local $1 store. Most of the people at the gaming stores are shocked by how good my models are painted, especially at my skill level. But they love my bases.
      I have photos of finished models and lists of what materials I used. I’ve raided my home garbage bin, used dirt from my garage floor, the local plant and dollar stores, and the construction site i work at. I have found rocks grass glitter dirt glass metal styrofoam etc that I could use to complement, blend or match the paint of models. My Tyranids are green and purple. I bought 4 things to base them. Green rocks and glitter and purple rocks and glitter. Tyranids deep strike by borrowing. My paint is perfect match camouflage to the base materials.

      Hi there, we have done video on a red based crackle and indeed even did it on a miniature, we used bright reds, yellows and oranges

    That’s really cool but how much does it cost

    • @MightyLancerGames

      Depends which product you want really. Search crackle paint on our website (I can’t add a link that will work) and you should find them all 😃

    What is the pva glue doing here?

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It lives here, we found it wandering the streets and took it in.
      (We find it helps make better cracks)

    Would it be possible to do this with power weapons

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      We also used this technique on a miniature in another video but have never tried it on anything small before, there needs to be enough room for the effect to be seen, for the cracks to spread and show the colour

    Do i need to thin the crackle paint?

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the thicker you apply it the different cracks will appear. A layer of pva (dried) before the crackle paint will also help with the cracking

    • @MightyLancerGames
      @MightyLancerGames  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely not, the PVA is only a personal preference of ours as we find it helps make better cracks, some people use varnish but you don’t have to use anything at all
