How am I supposed to take this faction seriously when they have an aversion to suicidal charges, phyrric victories and death in glorious (if inefficient) melee?
VULKAN LIVES STOMP STOMP
Because they're actually sensible.
Because they are nerds and deserve to be crushed by the heavy boot of the imperium. Glory to big E
Instead they are "f**k everything in that general direction/area" with heavy artillery. Enemy can't melee if you shot them first...
@@The0Stroy difference being their excellent aim makes that "general direction" into something more like "the exact neuron where the idea of fighting me popped into your brain, so you're never that stupid again"
"Yes, we suck at melee! Good luck getting that close tho!"
That's why you lose in every one of your art
@@dwynemarquita1676 there is no art of Tau winning, because they win when the opponent is the size of a single pixel
@@sylph4252 If there is no art of Tau winning, did they truly won any battles?
@@dwynemarquita1676 in that case I'll argue that any art with only Tau forces in it is an art of Tau winning, because their enemy has just been exploded somewhere beyond the horizon
@@sylph4252 If they did why couldn't they do that everytime
(just to be clear I don't hate Tau, it's just as a faction they seem to be just out of place)
Ethereals: Titans are stupid
*Mecha churches start ripping apart their frontlines*
Ethereals:....call the Earth Caste. We got to have one of those
That would make a good horror story, frantic reporting from the front lines about some unknown beast stomping towards them.
Cut to: The Manta. When they realised titans were real they took a bunch of manta's and threw the biggest railguns possible onto their belly inorder to nuke them from range.
Memes aside it was actually, the opposite. The Ethereals feared that the Earth caste would waste a bunch of resources by making their own Titans .
The Tau consider Titans to be just a terror weapon. Kinda impressive but overall impractical and a waste of resources. They much rather build smaller ships and battlesuits that can take them down by shooting them at the right spot .
@@_NIKOS9_NIKOSstill, psycological warfare is effective. I imagine the Supremacy Armor isn't actually widely used, but is instead deployed to demoralise factioms like the imperium. Because even if they're expensive, the Tau can make more titans and the Imperium can't.
Storm surge rail canon 1 shots titans now so what's you point? Lol
The Church of the Broken God would probably become obsessed with the T'au Empire. 😅
Well... Adeptus Mechanicus see them as xeno-heresy. And they are twin to Church of Broken God (especially if you take into account rumours about Void Dragon...)
@@The0Stroyi think the church of the broken god would hate the mechanicus for their aversion to both AI and general advancement
@@deadly_shepard4730 Well - Maxwellists maybe, but Cogwork Orthodox will align nicely.
mechanicus would actually hate the church of the broken god because they would view mekhane as an imposter god and their attitude towards flesh as blasphemy
@@The0Stroythe opposite is true
Maxwellists will be seen as radicals on the verge of tech heresy
The treatment of the orthodox would be on par if not worse then the dark mechanicum
21:57 When the Tau peak, we'll know. Because they are going to peak so hard that everyone in the galaxy is gonna feel it.
@@Zlyxonso does everyone else.
@@ZlyxonI really hated their ftl retcon. Like sure its slower but far more efficient and safe. Gliding thru the very edges of the warp keeping demons away and let's not forget that they're very weak presence in the warp.
@@Zlyxonthey no longer have it unlike before. The ether drive could only increase their ship's speed to something closer or as fast as the speed of light to which resulted in them relying on cryogenic sleep thanks to the changes in the 8th edition.
Ya but when the tau peak every faction including the Eldar will rank them into oblivion
While the T'au were never my favorite faction, I'm a sucker for mechs and I can't deny that those battlesuits look cool as hell.
That's where I'm at. Probably why their numbers are nerfed . . . so I repent.
The Emperor Protects.
Fair Brother 👍
The New Codex has the retaliation Cadre which is just a mech based detachment so a lot of us Tau players are building battlesuit lists now.
Also Broadsides and Riptides are amazing.
It’s funny to me that the T’au melee is just the Kroot.
Originally they were on par with humanity, just culturally didn't like melee - this was retconned to make them physically weaker, even though a Firewarrior is not notably weaker than a Guardsman, and some silly nonsense regarding eyesight not allowing them to focus close up.
and the Tarellians
@@MGShadow1989the eyesight thing is more nuanced. basically they see a wider range of color than humans, so their eyes take in more light, meaning if they need to adjust to the bright, or the dark, it takes longer. this affects their ability to shift focus, but not so much their actual "sight" if that makes sense.
@@thisgoddamusernamestoodamnlong - I understand it, I still think it's stupid, from both an in lore perspective and a gameplay perspective, as it means the door is pretty much closed on Tau having melee capabilities when originally it was open.
When it was just a cultural quirk where they viewed melee as barbaric, uncivilised, there was an opportunity for some melee capabilities from their rational, pragmatic approach to combat.
From a gameplay perspective it's annoying that some of the cheapest units can tie up some of the most lethal Tau units, simply because their melee capabilities are terrible - the only thing I can think of that is statistically worse is Gretchins because of how physically weak they are.
I'm also not fond of breaking the aesthetic of Tau with Kroot just to have something melee capable.
@@MGShadow1989 oh no, that's entirely a game thing. in-lore Ethereals train almost exclusively in mellee combat, and could easily fuck up anything short of a space marine. many fire warriors also specialise in close range, or even hand-to-hand combat. if anything, their focusing issues make them worse at range. the internet has just flanderized them. the average fire warrior is probably pretty ripped and could win a fistfight with the typical malnourished 18 year olds being drafted in the Impirium.
T'au deserve love, though they also deserve respect--and they're not perfect either. Can't wait to see how they properly grow.
My favorite faction, specifically kroot. Love the Idea of a Covenant-style interspecies coalition. Painted some pathfinders up to look like elites a while ago.
To bad its hard to hear about them with out legions of Imperium fans total shitting on them to the point of nauseum.
@@dazmaz1269 There are a lot of reasons i dont associate with the reddit WH community or other relatively unmoderated community forums. Mostly just hobby w my friends and im in a few smalled 40k youtuber discords.
@@dazmaz1269imperium fans do get annoying but they have a point
The tau have above average plot armour
I wish GW would lean more into the auxiliaries though
@@ajohnson7860 100 percent, i really want refreshed Vespids and Human auxilia models. Would love a Halo Covenant style Coalition army
"T'au cant melee!"
Onager Gauntlet: hehe Space Marines go splat.
Fusion Blade: How's your health plan?
Fireblade: Hope the dice are kind to you.
Aun'shi: All I need is a sharp stick.
Kroot: Oh honey...
Vespid: "laughs in diamond hard claws"
Vorgh: Casually rips a Knight in half
Loxatl: heh you have no skin now.
Nicassar: One shots plague SM.
Thraxians: "Six sword style"
😂😂😂😂 **six sword style**
Don't forget about the humans in the Tau as well. I'd recon they'd be able to melee as well
Don't forget that the average Fire Warrior is actually (slightly) bigger and stronger than run of the mill guardsmen. They only suck in melee against melee focused armies...against guardsmen and skitarii, they're maybe 5% better.
Giant futuristic mechs are so damn cool.
“Cooper, we’re going to Wendy’s”
-why?
“Chicken sammich” 👍
You've been the sole reason over developed an interest in 40k, and over time I've come to look forward not only to the scp and lovecraft vids, but these armaments of the ___ vids. Keep it up mangg!
Keep up the variety content ! Breath of fresh air, those will pop off eventually as well.
What variety content? He's moving on from scp and doing Warhammer eventually
SCP has become too meta and gender confused.
@Psionic_Pizza please don’t tell me you haven’t noticed the strange world views of SCP writers seeping into new stories. Gender confused is a polite way to say it
Im only here for the warhammer content 😂
Nice pick for a tau’nar supremacy suit as the thumbnail. One of my favorite warhammer units
1:00-1:10 commander farsight enters the chat.
they kinda seem like the coolest faction ngl
They absolutely are! A lot of imperium fans hate them for hypocritical reasons that don’t make sense, but don’t listen to them. The Tau have the best models, lore, weapons, characters , tactics, art and fan base! Hoping you join the greater good!
Stop this heresy and join the Chads, it's for a reason why the imperium is the main protagonist.
@@ogvidoff462 lol the imperium doesn’t even want to join the imperium. The xeno factions don’t even need to fight the imperium in order to destroy it, it’s doing a great job of that on its own.
Tbh right now the Imperium is serving the rest of the factions. It provides unwitting tools for the Eldar, Scrap for the Orks, Biomass for the nids, Slaves for the Dark eldar and to a lesser extent converts for the tau.
Counterpoint
Necrons and adeptus mechanicus
I am pretty sure if the Tau get more advanced Vashtor will cause an AI rebellion amongst their technology like it's implied he did with the Men of Iron.
If I had to pic a faction just for their gear, I will always pic the Tau. They are the best without any downsides. Yeah the Necrons are insane but also you really don't want something to go wrong and their weapons usually don't consider fleshy users. The Imperium doesn't care about long time effects, the eldar stuff mostly only work well with psychic powers and are just wierd, chaos will warp you. Orcs and Nids aren't even in the debate. The Tau just make save, reliable and very effective gear, defensively and offensively.
They are the smallest and debatable the weakest empire who couldnt last against a human, ork, necron or tyranid invasion.
@@Indy_BendyK? The dude's talking about general equipment, not the overall strength of the race.
@dustinnabil798 my point was that the equipment isn't strong enough to make them relevant. Should've made that more clear.
@@Indy_BendyCap
Is there enough 40K lore for The Men Of Iron? That would be cool and no one has much on them for videos. Thanks!
Check out Occulous Imperial(?) Men of stone, iron and gold.
Glad to see the Warhammer videos lately. I know they don't do as well but I've grown accustomed to your lore and spc videos so thank you for hitting the topic I enjoy the most.
Ork: OI!!! They not fighin' fair! They keep runnin' away an' shootin' like cowards... *head gets taken off.
Observing Space Marine: Ha foolish xeno *head also gets taken off.
Other Space Marines: *Revs chain sword. Brothers, draw your blades!
21:56 when the Tau peak, they're going to peak so hard that everyone in that segmentus is gonna feel it
I gotta tell ya… I love your background Music. You always have it matched so well with your content narratives 🫶🏻
Thanks for doin more 40k!
Things that could still wipe out the Tau...
A major Waugh, a Tyranid fleet coming straight at them, any real Chaos attack, and the inevitable stumbling across a Necron Tombworld.
Keep in mind that the Imperium was well on the way to wiping out the Tau, who pose no real threat to ANY other faction because of their extremely slow interstellar ships, and were only aced because a Tyranid fleet turned up nearby and that was correctly viewed as a higher priority threat. Tau are too slow at reaching new star systems to be a real problem, and their extremely tenuous connection to the Warp prevents them getting any faster. And if they were to somehow make their Warp connection stronger, they'd mostly just make themselves more vulnerable to Chaos, which they are already extremely vulnerable to.
Sounds like an imperium cuck is sad the new tau codex lets storm surges 1 shot any unit on the table
Not really new on the market anymore, Tau first debut in 2001. 40k was only out for 18 years. Tau been out for over 20 years now. They even had their own videogame in 2003. Votann would be new kids on the block, they debut just two years ago.
Yeah but in the lore the Votann have been around since the days of the Emperor so in the lore the Tau are new
@@Pixel22-fs3tt 0:36 I didnt mention or infer the Tau were older than the Votann
Great video, I just wish the visuals matched the weapon being talked about at each moment.
Sometimes they do, but i enjoy the cool art he procures even when it does not match regardless!
@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nw Normally I wouldn't say anything, but I feel like it's important in this type of video.
@@Leonix13 true, and sometimes they do. But i imagine sometimes it would be a lot of image chsnges

Fire Warrior on the ps2 was my first exposure to war hammer as a whole.

Death by Tau Railgun seems like an infuriating way to go.
According to lore if your in a vehicle hit by a railgun its a really unpleasant way to go aswell
A great few books/audiobooks to enjoy the Tau would be Shadowsun, Blade of Damocles and both the Farsight Books 👌
The Broken Sword is also quite good
The Greater Good Prevails!!!!
yay new vid
I always appreciate when someone gives my blue boys the spotlight 😁
best faction when it comes to range
the T'au have the best of the best when it comes to standard tech, but in terms of "advanced" (AKA really damn big) tech they're a bit lacking. The Imperium has Exterminatus Protocols, the Eldar have Craftworlds, but the T'au don't have anything big like that. Sure a single T'au fire warrior could kill a squadron of Guardsmen from five continents over, but when the Inquisitors roll up to purge tainted xenos filth with global virus bombings, the T'au don't really have a big enough answer to it.
They're efficient and they're advanced, but unless they think bigger they're not gonna fare well when people actually start to register them as more than just a blip on the far side of the map
The Tau do have answers to unexpected developments. They are the only species ever to beat a Tyranid strain that was known for its extreme evolving... by out evolving it. The Tyranids changed, the Tau made new weapons.
Not to mention virus bombing is easier said then done. If you get the chance to virus bomb a Tau world it means it was defeated. Normally they'd either use their fleets or orbital cannons to defend.
You are right tho, Tau dont really have their own super weapons, though I feel thats intentional. Tau seem more realistic when it comes to ressource allocation.
For example, titans are cool but if we take an irl POV a waste of resources. A single titan could probably be turned into what? 40 leman russes? Way more impactful.
Even the standard tech isn't much compared to necrons and eldar
The problem is they are outmatched in every field by one faction or another
Especially in space, they have arguably the worst space capability of all the factions(excluding maybe orks)
@@BrianHuisadmech has also done that. Problem is it only works on one particular invasion force of a hive fleet
What makes zero sense is tau curing genestealers, something which even the greatest bioglois magi are incapable of
the deathwatch has relic ships that can just straight bypass everything drop exterminatus payload and leave the system
Titans upto the reaver class make sense, it's the bigger ones that are wasteful
You are underestimating the resources needed for titans, 40 leman russ? More like 40 bane blades(for a single warhound)
@@feosty5526 point of the comparison was that titans are not truly worth their resource investment.
@@BrianHuis warhounds are absolutely worth the cost for the imperium
GET THIS MAN TO A MILLION AT ALL COST
Hoi ManGG!
I always wondered why your WH40K vids appear to be all over the place, seemingly randomly picked out of the universe.
Then i realised when the WH40K series actually started and for how long you've been doing this. O.o
Admittedly, i subbed for the SCPs. It's nice after all, to have someone who explains the wonkier and brainy articles. That sounds stupid but i came to realise that you're actually NOT an SCP channel. :P
I wanna say thank you for 10 years of commitment and sheer awesomeness.
Daniel
P.S. Mayhaps you do some film reviews again. ;)
Heck yea, just in time for bed 🥰🥰🐤
Time to play some T'au on Dawn of War!
I guarantee of you make your style video of warhammer 40k with the length of Leutin09 videos, video will fo sure be a banger
I'm not a tau player but damn they have cool toys 🤩
Can you talk about the Tau auxiliaries and there roles
No idea what's going on but let's barty!
For the greater good.
I have a gun that uses chaos as a power and ammo. Eventually it will purify the warm.
Why the fuck would a modern The Exploring Series channel have a user called RedMeansRecording
Wish the Fire Warrior game was more competent on how these armaments were used.
It's interesting that the creator chose wheels for the Y axis. They require maintenance, like tightening the wobble screws. Are they so much cheaper that it's worth it?
NO MORE SCP VIDEOS, MORE LIKE THIS
Ore Wa Gundam!
One small suggestion/request is that you put up an image of the respective unit when telling about it.
The only faction that got me interested on 40k lore aside from the Salamanders.
Their tech makes you wonder if they found an intact STC. Not sure if the lore contradicts this but it would explain the pace of their technological advancement.
Tau wouldnt be alive if they discovered a intact stc
Why the fuck would a super futuristic alien species have a plane called the Barracuda
All of their ships are named after a type of fish.
Because they heard the song once and liked it😂😂😂
the main thing to remember is that most names of vehicles and weapons are translations, not necessarily something they call it in their own language. Such is why the Necrons have Tesla and Gauss weapons, when Tesla has nothing to do with the race.
The names we know their ships by are the codenames used by the imperium of man, which is why they gave every one a fish or sea related name to distinguish them from other factions in the administratum.
Not one axe amongst the entire lot...
Humans: "The Emperor protects!"
Orks: "WAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH!!"
Chaos followers: "Immortality is the Gift of Chaos!"
Tyranids *Deranged screeches*
T'au: "Gundam!"
Nah, it's far more closer to AC (3rd gen and 4th gen) to be precise.
@@aaronluisdelacruz4212nice to know im not the only one who thinks that
Moeagare! Moeagare! Moeaare, Gundamu!
The issue is that basically all the factions in 40k have had a fall from grace, wherein they were decimated and reduced to a husk of their former selves... except the Tau. I've always taken their naive, optimistic friendliness to be the setup for their fall, wherein they'll emerge far less than they were, and far more hardened to the cruelty of the universe. You could argue that the Farsight Enclaves are basically already that to some extent.
So now Tau have Giant mech vs imperial knight?
Love your channel and have been subscribed for years. Don’t know if you’ll see this man: I know the scp content was taxing on you.
The thing is bro you are the best scp channel on YT. I’m a massive 40k fan, however i loved how you linked the Scp continuities in you vids.
Long story short please switch back to Scp content full time if possible. Or do warhammer books. You are appreciated 💯
Thank you for the video I love that picture of tau and krieg in showing two opposites, "So you're technically advanced is it more advanced than this trench shovel I'm beating you down with?"
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO FUCK YEAH
Isn’t an “ imperial Walker” just an “AT-AT” haha
I like that after 20 minutes of going through how next level tau tech is, you chose to close it out with a krieg introducing them to his trusty shovel.

@@mandke23 I never said I like the furries. But you do know they'd run out of ammo. even if they oneshotted every imperium ship, they'd run out of ammo before the imperium ran out of ships. And all you need is a handful of ships to exterminatus the tau out of the galaxy

- yep, checks out
"And out"
-uhh what? The T'au have been out for over 20 years now... They're older than the necrons for god's sake! They are older than over half of the factions in the game nowadays! How are people still calling them "relatively new"???

Nope
With latest changes to lore (that was always there, like in "1984"), maybe you will need to pause this series until all cooled down a bit. Or cancel it, because GW 1984 us now, so will 1984 us in future for sure.

All of krieg collectively just threw up in their masks..... And I agree. Fix those shovels boys..
Well considering I can see these Tau armaments, I’m assuming they’re losing.
High quality video enjoyable to listen to.
A list of stuff is terribly boring compared to stories.
Impressive, but so far the T'au are still the faction I like the least, with Necrons being the favorite.
The xv8 is a lot bigger than two fire warriors and the riptide is way bigger than 4 fire warriors.....
