Personally, I am extremely hyped to see the show. Many people have expressed their issues with it being non canon and cortana and what not , but to be frank, for me, seeing a big budget halo tv show itself has pulled me in, cant wait!!!!
I wonder if the Mjoulner isn't being used as a prosthetic of sort. As long as they can twitch their bodies, a spartan in that armor can move with superhuman strength and speed. If thast the case, an internal support to keep a paralyzed body up, and minimial body movement would allow him to move around like a normal person with practice.
In addition to the infamous Five Hundred Year Old Chevy Tahoe that showed up in the recent trailer, I hope someone in the Insurrection has a lead on half-millennia old ammunition...unless someone's still making new 7.62x51s, because I swear that guy on the left of frame at 10:00 is using an AK-platform rifle.
7.62x51 is the standard round for most UNSC rifles like the MA5 series. The AK-47/AKM use 7.62x39, though the fact that a museum piece like that is being used by Innies at all is lazy production. They couldn’t even reuse the prop rifles they’d already made for the UNSC troops in the show or slightly modify a few to resemble the MA3 Innies used in at least one canon story.
@@MishraArtificer FAL, G3, AR-10 rifles like the M110 sniper, HK417, M14 series, numerous sniper rifles and DMRs like the M24, M40 and L96. It’s also widely used in general purpose machine guns like the MAG 58/M240 and even the M134 mini gun.

Insurgents in the middle east very commonly use WWII era rifles, SMGs and general purpose MGs, but that use-case doesn't stop outside of the middle east. I've spotted photos of folks in Ukraine using Maxim machine guns right now. Those were patented in 1884. Thats 30 years closer to the american revolutionary war than it is to today. I have little doubt that AKs produced today will still be used in (very) limited numbers by some type of insurgent force 500 years from now.
@@raspyApostle I am well aware of the guns being used in The Middle East and Ukraine. However, it’s important to note that many of those were taken out of attics and cellars from when grandpa found a cache of dumped guns from the losing side and took one as a trophy. Also note how none of the weapons that you mentioned are over 500 years old like the AKs on this show. It’s been established that guns being used today are literal museum pieces in the Halo universe, such as the Desert Eagle someone pulled on Chief in one of the novels. A more appropriate weapon for insurgents to use that’s still outdated would’ve been the HMG-38 or perhaps the MA3, both of which are older than the current MA5 series that first entered service with the UNSC in 2395.
It’s just sad that when you see canon charecter like Miranda and Keyes, you will think: “oh the creators didn’t think the show had enough diversity so they had to change your skin colour”…
Its really odd how both Destiny and Halo right now have a weird new character dressed in a black Bene-Gesserit-looking robe that fans are mixed on... (The Witness and Makee) In regards to the Silver Timeline, i think they should use it more as a strength and less as a weakness. What if the non-canon nature of this show allows the writers to create stories that could never be possible in the Golden Timeline?
Sadly, there won't be anything "good" explored, as the show bosses NEVER played a Halo game before or even during the production. How they became the people who decided what is and isn't done? Paramount discount and talentless hacks that somehow count as bosses.
@@Deepkeel You don’t have to play a videogame to understand the world and characters. No idea if the execution will be good, but that alone doesn’t mean it’ll suck.
@@Deepkeel Based on what I’ve seen, they’ve educated themselves pretty thoroughly. They kept the core setting, background of Spartans, most of the same characters, and seem to appreciate the darker nature of Halo’s extended universe, which they’ve obviously taken most of their inspiration from. They even brought in cool but underutilized characters like Soren-066 with much more fleshed out roles, and one of my personal favorites, Margret Parengosky (The head of ONI for those of you who are unfamiliar.). That makes me think they know what they’re doing. You might be about it sucking, but I don’t think the writers are just making crap up as they go along or operating on a plot synopses alone.
I'm staying optimistic about this. Divergent canon aside, this still looks and feels like Halo. My only concerns are some scenes with lackluster cinematography and the possibility that Halo music will be used sparingly. Neither of which are deal breakers for me.

This certainly looks like a dud waiting to happen I hope im wrong Especially with chief taking his helmet off its like the biggest halo sin. They failed hard with captain keys casting and Miranda.
I'm hoping that even if the first season bombs that they are open to constructive criticism moving forward. If that happens the series has potential to be amazing.
The only real way I can see this bombing is if this is unfriendly to Halo newcomers. If it can tell a good story without relying on prior knowledge of the Halo franchise, it'll do fine. The Mandalorian and the Expanse proves there's a market for live action science fiction shows.
I hope they do their own thing. It's already divergent to the games, so I hope they do their own thing, and stick to it. You don't like it, don't watch. Halo fans already act as if halo is their ip, they are breaking away and telling another story. So I hope they listen to no fans.
Can't wait for the first season to bomb, so that Paramount finally realizes they need competent staff that understand the soul of a franchise, instead of Hollyweird talentless hacks.

My question for tv shows or series or whatever people produce from books or videogames, why do they insist on changing the skin color of the person portraying it? they did that with The Witcher netflix series too and it felt odd Is as if someone changed 1 member of your family to the opposite gender I'm liking the show but i still can't see miranda and jacob keyes as them, i see them more of a random woman and the johnson look alike
Very interesting they made Keyes black. I understand race doesn’t matter but if Johnson was played by a white guy there would be outrage even though Johnson character doesn’t matter if he’s black or white. And honestly i thought they actor for keyes was playing Johnson
You know I was confused at first why they cast Jacob Keys with a black actor but then realized that Sargent Johnson wasn’t gonna be in the show and that’s why they did it. Looking forward to the show.
I've done my complaining, I'm not gonna pay Paramount to watch it anyway so i guess it doesn't matter. fuck this "Silver Timeline" Give me a film based on Contact Harvest, without changing people's fucking race for a start
Trying to speculate on the lore of this show is legitimately pointless, as Paramount is quite thorough on how they don't care about source essence, for example, anything Star Trek pass DS9.
Cortana sucks!! Keep the elements of the game true, Cortana is a AI who transcended beyond. Making Cortana humanlooking is wrong. The actress that plays Halsey sucks, her mimic is to soft, in the games Halsey was calculated and has seen wars what made she wear the scares of it in her eyes.
Honestly wish they’d have used other characters we hadn’t already seen in game (miranda/J.Keyes) , just doesn’t make sense and halo is a big enough universe to use different characters and remain true to lore without stepping on the toes of the story already told by the games.
Yeah I'm going to say it. Spartans out running a Warthog is a laugh outside of Kelly their top speed is generally in the 50kph range. That's not very fast in terms of super soldiers.
@@yorecf9641 No this is a fan calculation and is not stated in any other lore. It can easily be attributed to the author not understand what was being stated, which happens all the time.
@@yorecf9641 It is a fan calculation based off discription in Fall of Reach. @@maddogs1989 it very clearly states, "He crossed the half-kilometer stretch in seventeen seconds flat and skidded to a halt." The math backs up the 105 kpm claim. Is it really that hard to believe that any safety measures in his armor were burned out by the explosion from the Scorpion missile, causing him to move faster than what's normally possible in addition to an adrenaline dump from almost dying? I get that Kelly is stated to be the fastest out of all of the II's, but that doesn't mean it's impossible for a one-off feat like this to occur when we're talking about augmented super soldiers in power armor that allows them to survive falls from orbit and lift 66 ton tanks.

Personally, I am extremely hyped to see the show. Many people have expressed their issues with it being non canon and cortana and what not , but to be frank, for me, seeing a big budget halo tv show itself has pulled me in, cant wait!!!!
Looking forward to this series!
I wonder if the Mjoulner isn't being used as a prosthetic of sort. As long as they can twitch their bodies, a spartan in that armor can move with superhuman strength and speed. If thast the case, an internal support to keep a paralyzed body up, and minimial body movement would allow him to move around like a normal person with practice.
alright to the halesy actor i kinda respect her for doing her RESEARCH
I'd like to see a female Brute, Elite, Grunt/Jackle even

I wonder will that look like

I assume that last line means that the show is US only?
It’s coming to Australia on Paramount+ iirc
It's coming out in a number of countries, but several more will be missing out, sadly. I don't recall which countries the show is coming to next week.

@@yorecf9641 ...thank you, I can never remember which round the AK uses. So...what uses the 7.62x51 in our century?
@@MishraArtificer FAL, G3, AR-10 rifles like the M110 sniper, HK417, M14 series, numerous sniper rifles and DMRs like the M24, M40 and L96. It’s also widely used in general purpose machine guns like the MAG 58/M240 and even the M134 mini gun.
@@yorecf9641 People using EXTREMELY outdated weapons system is a lot more common than you would think it to be.
Love it
It’s just sad that when you see canon charecter like Miranda and Keyes, you will think: “oh the creators didn’t think the show had enough diversity so they had to change your skin colour”…
So long as they’re good actors and play the characters well
I wouldn’t care
Its really odd how both Destiny and Halo right now have a weird new character dressed in a black Bene-Gesserit-looking robe that fans are mixed on...
(The Witness and Makee)
In regards to the Silver Timeline, i think they should use it more as a strength and less as a weakness.
@@captainuseless2120 Indeed, but they do need to consume its media themselves, they clearly haven't.

How can you truly believe this looks and feels like Halo? It's a bastardization of the franchise
@@johntaylor4513 by trusting my retinas, mostly. Tell me what exactly makes it a bastardization of Halo.

They won't
@@Nugnugnug Bait and Switch is often swallowed very well by normies
I hope they do their own thing. It's already divergent to the games, so I hope they do their own thing, and stick to it. You don't like it, don't watch. Halo fans already act as if halo is their ip, they are breaking away and telling another story. So I hope they listen to no fans.
Can't wait for the first season to bomb, so that Paramount finally realizes they need competent staff that understand the soul of a franchise, instead of Hollyweird talentless hacks.

I've done my complaining, I'm not gonna pay Paramount to watch it anyway so i guess it doesn't matter. fuck this "Silver Timeline" Give me a film based on Contact Harvest, without changing people's fucking race for a start
Easier said than done with any adaptation these days it seems.
John was once recorded running at 105 kph during a training exercise while in MJOLNIR, though he did tear his Achilles’ tendon due to the strain.
@@yorecf9641 No this is a fan calculation and is not stated in any other lore. It can easily be attributed to the author not understand what was being stated, which happens all the time.
@@maddogs1989 a fan calculation that is stated in Fall of Reach?
@@yorecf9641 It is a fan calculation based off discription in Fall of Reach. What further supports the fact that it's a discrptional error is that Kelly is and has always been to be stated to be the fastest Spartan. Yet her fastest time in Gen II armor is 62kph.
So no Chiefs 105kph claim hold no credit
Yay more race swap
I am slightly upset Keyes is black, could have stuck with the original, blackwashing is only a means of disrespect not only to black folks but the original character too, same goes with whitewashing pre established black characters.

I heard that the people asked the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ): Water is brought for you from the well of Buda'ah. It is a well in which dead dogs, menstrual clothes and excrement of people are thrown. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) replied: Verily water is pure and is not defiled by anything.
Abu Dawud said I heard Qutaibah b. Sa'id say: I asked the person in charge of the well of Bud'ah about the depth of the well. He replied: At most the water reaches pubes. Then I asked: Where does it reach when its level goes down ? He replied: Below the private part of the body.
Abu Dawud said: I measured the breadth of the well of Buda'ah with my sheet which I stretched over it. I them measured it with the hand. It measured six cubits in breadth. I then asked the man who opened the door of garden for me and admitted me to it: Has the condition of this well changed from what it had originally been in the past ? He replied: No. I saw the color of water in this well had changed.
