    Thank you! I've never encountered this issue in all my years of crocheting until now. I'm designing a character who needs to be *round* but it keeps coming out cone shaped. I'm using a K hook with Bernat baby blanket (super bulky) because any larger caused big gaps w/ my gauge. Increasing the first round to 8, increasing to 24 and then going back to the typical 6 increases per round worked a charm!

    another thing you can do is after you fasten off, you can sometimes take your sewing needle and pull it through the body all the way up to the cone so it sticks out of the cone. then, you can go over a stitch and then bring the needle all the way back to the bottom and pull a little bit, so the cone gets pushed inwards. sorry that this is complicated, if you need help, just comment :)

      This is what I would do too! But then it ran the risk of having the opposite problem of looking like it had a bellybutton 😹 but overall flat ish.

    After years of amigurumi with medium weight yarn I'm having so much trouble with this cone shape in the plush. I'm used to pulling every stitch as tight as possible and keeping the stitching tiny this is very difficult. Thanks for all the tips. I'll be trying them to see if one works for me. If not then I'll get back to the medium weight amis.

    Thanks for this video! I've already frogged my octopus project twice now, and about to do so a third time. I decided to use a 7mm hook and doing 8sc in magic circle. However, the top remains fairly flat with the slightest point, but moving on to doing the sides with continued rows of 64sc... basically I end up with something akin to a basket or a hat. I decided to try crocheting a new one doing 6sc in magic circle, but it started going cone-shaped! Would make a cute mushroom, but I want a round ball! And it's not like I haven't crocheted round balls before. I thought I was going crazy, haha.

    Since you take a round away should you add another round later like to the rounds you work even? I am making your giant turtle, i have made the other two already so should i add a round to the head on rounds 8-13 of your pattern? Or just keep going and not make up for the lost round?

    • @rekakapocsi2416
      @rekakapocsi2416 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      he started the magic circle like this because the fluffy yarn gets stuck if it is too tight. if there is another thread next to the loop, it can be pulled out more nicely and it won't get caught.

    So I’m confused. If the normal pattern and the modified pattern both end up with 30 stitches, and the next row for the normal pattern included increases or decreases, does the modified still skip it? I’m not sure what you meant with the modified having to skip the next row, what if it gives a different result than the original pattern? Please help

    • @brianab7400
      @brianab7400 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She skipped round 4 because she needed to get back to the amount of stitches that the pattern showed since she increased the amount of stitches in her magic ring if she had continued and not skipped a round she would have ended up with way too many stitches(a bigger circle) and not been able to keep following the pattern
