Just bought a standard DSG 7.5 and I love it. Had an m135i F20 previously and wanted to get something that still had some performance but was a lot less to maintain (and fuel, especially given today's fuel prices). Great all rounder and your video tipped me over the edge into purchasing it. Personally much prefer the 7/7.5 to the 8 in terms of looks (both interior and exterior).
Hey man, i have a few questions i have an f20 116d currently with a remap i like it it’s a fun car, but doing les miles got me looking at a petrol car currently, debating between a gti and an m135i, how do you find the gti compared to the m135i?
Enjoyed the video and yes it’s a very relevant hot hatch with respect to how it sits in the market. I know people / clients who are very cash rich and have GTIs on the driveway amongst other very expensive machinery . People buy them because they are understated but purposeful, slick at everything, fast when you want it to be and have good kerbside appeal. It’s great as you point out for people who have grown out of the fast and furious looks and rock hard rides. Put it in sport and it doesn’t turn in to a crashy mess like a lot others. They are also a lot quicker than what people think they are. Compared to my M135i it’s not night and day performance. Really surprised me. Great cars
Great video 👍 had my MK7 not long now but absolutely love the thing. It's a standard car with the manual box. I have just taken it from London to Cornwall and have had lots of fun driving on the country roads. The thing is with these is that you don't even have to drive fast to have fun with it plus it's easy to live with, practical and inexpensive to run aswell, great all rounder really 😀

Ive just ordered a GTI mk7.5 performance pack. Im hoping it will give me the buzz im expecting. Look great. Mines the same as this but white. Good vid keep it up
I bought a pre-reg performance pack in June 2019. The only thing I wish it had is the adaptive dampers as I find the ride a bit jittery on some uneven stretches of road. Apart from that, it’s brilliant to drive, especially in sport mode in 3rd gear.It pulls like a train.

Because you know your stuff it would be a knowledgeable video! Maybe you done one and I missed it. Thanks keep making great vids bro!
I like the GTI, it’s a really classy hot hatch but if you’re in for a hot hatch for raw pace and fun then on the front wheel drive MQB platform the Cupra is a better option. Can’t get a manual anymore though.

I've personally got an EP3 and definitely prefer it over the MK5 GTI having driven both. EP3 is a very capable car and I have actually beaten a lot of the new Golf GTi's. It's so light, a revving machine, but you definitely need to know how to drive one. In the EP3, you can't be a lazy driver as you really have to work for the power, and if doing some "traffic light grand prix" you need to try and stay in the vtec as much as possible to get the most out of it. If your in the wrong gear at the wrong time you will get smoked. The EP3 handles superbly, and with a few bolt on mods and remap you'd be looking at about 230-250bhp which is alot for a car that weighs less than 1300kg. If needs be you could even strip it out and get to around 1100kg meaning the bhp per tonne will be excellent! Also the k20 engine from the EP3 is probably the best sounding N/A engine out there. Wack a good air intake on it and the VTEC crossover is really aggressive!
