  • This time on 427 Motorsports, we're taking a look at what we believe to be the beginning of the end - the last GTI made for the enthusiast behind the wheel.

    Great video lads. Totally agree about the touch screen/lack of physical buttons. It’s a step backwards. Have driven both Mk7.5 and Mk8 Golf’s and have to say the the Mk8 was a head wrecker! Something as simple as adjusting the heater control (dragging finger across non-descript shiny surface) would have you taking your eyes off the road! I couldn’t live with that as an everyday car. But I would love the Mk7.5 GTI in my dream garage, enjoy it👍🏻

      We genuinely wouldn't be surprised if the amount of accidents increases because of all this.
      But hey, more wrecked cars means more new cars. Maybe it's all one big conspiracy. Who knows!
      Cheers for the comment Tom!

    It’s strange but I find my mk7.5 GTI Performance more comfortable on 18 inch wheels than equivalent R-Line on 17 inch wheels. I find it strange but I really can’t complain about the comfort having previously owned Scirocco R on 19 inch wheels

  • @visionsinblue7093

    Just a comment on YOUR 7.5 GTI - it's the lower-spec model. The better model is the Performance with LSD, bigger brakes, and a bit more power. The mk8 has the LSD from the 7.5 Performance - hence why it drives better (partly) than your non-Performance GTI.
    Performance GTI's have red brake calipers with GTI on them, and a red GTI front & rear badge as indentification.

    I've got the same car, and never had a problem with the built in maps. It was easy to update them, and then they can go online easily too for traffic and petrol prices etc. (I've added a 4g dongle to the car). MK7 was pinnacle GTI because there is nothing that the MK7.5 brought to the table in terms of performance, over the MK7.

    • @visionsinblue7093
      @visionsinblue7093 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Except extra power of course (10hp [230hp] in GTI trim, 15hp [245hp] in Performance trim). Also the mk7 GTI DSG is 6spd, the mk7.5 DSG Performance is 7spd

    • @JacesOwnWorld
      @JacesOwnWorld 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@visionsinblue7093 that’s all marketing. You can’t feel that extra 10hp at all. Literally, and I mean literally, all the factory did is add 1psi more factory boost to the car. I guess you are right on the 7spd DSG, but it still doesn’t make the car faster over the 6spd, nor does it make it more economical. So kind of weird that people think it’s better 🤷‍♂️. It’s just stronger, that’s all.
