Just a quick note - 04:28 if you put the toggle switch for your electric mirrors towards the left mirror it will automatically show you the kerb in your left-hand door mirror when you put the car in reverse (great feature if you don't have the optional rear-view camera). It goes back to normal once you take the car out of reverse gear.
@@bravskeen If you have it you will find it in car/setup/mirrors & wipers/lowering in reverse. You can set it up where you want mirror to position when you put it into reverse.
To dial out a lot of understeer fit a thicker rear sway bar. I did this and added chassis bracing and a stage 2 tune with ps4s tires. It's a mountain road weapon now.
These are actually quite reasonable on the used market compared to competitors and despite just turning 20 I was shocked I could actually insure one for an ok price! It’s on my list for new cars.
@@mrrolex1364 I was quoted £1700-1875 ish depending on colour and 3 or 5 door. I had an accident 2 years ago so not terrible. Didn’t buy one in the end though

Great review. I have the same on and I love this car. In South Africa, we don't have much snow which mean that we don't really need awd. We have the leather heated seats as standard. Mine got much louder over time but still wish it was louder. I extended the maintenance plan which give's me peace of mind. I changed the tyres to 235/45/19's Michelin Pilot sport 4s and fitted some cheap coilovers which improved handling by 10 folds. I might upgrade the coilovers soon, but the ride quality and handling over 200km/h is so much better.
I’m looking at picking one of these up soon, I don’t drive far to work or for shopping etc… will be nice to just go for a drive every weekend or so, I think it’ll be the perfect car for the money
I recently brought the gti performance and I love it! 9 out of 10 just going to work and back so perfect for that but then when it's the weekend and I need to go somewhere I always go thr back country roads and so much fun! really is perfect all rounder
@@ragulsudhakar5423 I honestly prefer my GTI over a R I test drove, it just feels more "snappy" and "fun". Yes the Golf R is faster, there's no arguing about that and it's AWD so there is never a traction issue, but I think having to actually drive and manage the wheel spin makes it more engaging. That's just my opinion but if you were to decide I would test drive both and see which you prefer.
You got those options all wrong. heated seats are standard, pan roof is a hefty weight up top and will eventually cost a fortune to fix. What ye want is, DCC, DYNAUDIO & Brescia wheels.

@@amenchoudhury8036 Cupra if you’re going manual. Just keep in mind the clutches don’t last that long on manual gti’s/cupras. Not too expensive to upgrade it though.
@ParagonCarsLondon I'm going for a test drive on both next week so I'll get to try both, the gti interior does look amazing though compared to the cupra but ive always driven manual and a bit worried I won't enjoy the gti dsg after a while
Driving is only stressful if you have a problem with sharing the roads with other vehicles. Too many people get wound up behind the wheel too easily. You cant change other’s behaviour, let them get on with it. Drivers take it personally when someone cuts them up or gets in front of them. Doesn’t even make sense.
He’s talking about adaptive cruise control so what he means is that its more stressful driving if you have to keep adjusting your speed to keep the correct distance. Acc keeps you a good distance automatically
The 30-70 test makes so much more sense for real world than 0-60. Very nice :)
100%
Idk why but golfs are just my favourite car. Simplicity with style

VAG thing so interesting that Tom didn’t realise this!

Cheers, I used to love around there, some nice junctions and roads.
Good to see the mpg getting up above 40 on the motorway

Great video. Perfectly summed up as a fantastic all round car that still puts a smile on your face come the weekend

Should i swap my bmw 420d GC for a 2016 VW gti auto?? 43mpg is not bad for petrol!😅
Thanks for the review, how would you compare this to the A3 2.0T?

Performance pack or not ? seems quite fast.
nope just standard. Surprisingly quick i know.

this makes me so excited to get my mk7 GTI, its a 14 plate but is there much difference between it and this one?
No digital dash is the main difference.

What is yhe moxed mpg like when trying to conserve fuel (notbin sport mode)? 40mpg?
about 45-50mpg

It's actually pretty smooth which is surprising for a dsg.
Have you reviewed a polo gti on your channel?
Not yet, hopefully at some point.
Does this have lane assist to keep you in lane on the motorway
it does but it bounces between lane markings rather than keeping you centered like audi's system does.
Interesting

Yup much prefer the leather trim.
it’s GTI heritage
