I'm in maintainance training at work and their computer classes are horrible at teaching things. This gave me a better idea of what flashing and cavitation are! Thank You!
A really good presentation. Very rare content regarding cavitation that is so well made. Congrats! I am going to buy Fisher Valves & Instruments now :) :) :)

Hi everyone. please support for this question: In this Video, the flow is from up to down (Flow to Close). and appear cavitation. So, how about if the flow is from Down to up (flow to open), it have cavitation or not. and why do not use flow as flow to open?
I keep having problem with my home water pump. I bought 4 water pumps within 10 years. 3 of them are same hitachi brand, and it keep on overheat and break down. Last year i bought another pump but different brand and now it started making a sound like having gravels in it, and i really dont know what happen until i watch this video, cavitation. But i still not understand, what should i do? My water pump was installed just beside water tank and it lay on flat ground as the water tank too. My water pump and tank seperated by roughly 1 ft pipe connecting the 2. Is it too near? How does pipe size can cause cavitation? Please help advice.
You May have the wrong size, you need to look at the pump curve and see where you stand. IT sonds Like you have high gpms. It could be your motor is too fast or you have the wrong impeller
@@carloscerda11 You mean my pump could be pumping water too fast and cause it to overheat? But how if the case the water flow out from tank faster than the pump could suck? Will it cause problem too? And about my pipe size, im using 1 inch pipe from tank to water pump and straight to my house, but...im using ½ inch pipe for hot and cold pipe, so mean i do using reducer from 1 inch to ½ inch but only water heater. Can that possibly cause the problem?
Cavitation damage will have a rough, pitted, sintered appearance whereas sediment damage will be like that of erosion and flashing, which is smooth and/or polished. Visit www.emerson.com/en-us/automation/valves-actuators-regulators/control-valves/cavitation to find more information.
"Wherever there's a restriction in flow, the decrease in pressure can cause a fluid to reach its vapor point" I think that is not reasonable phrase. The restriction of flow comes with increase in pressure not decrease of pressure !
When the area of a flow is narrower, its velocity increases. And the relationships between presure and velocity are inversely promotional. So any time you see a drop in the area of the flow, you see an increase in velocity and a decrease in pressure.

Wow. This changed my life. I have a friend named Cam I should show this to.

Absolutely the best I've seen. Thank you for your wonderful explanation.
I liked your upscale page posts
Excellent teaching video. Thank you.
Well Presented!!
💗 Thanks for this great content! 👍 👍
Is it recommended to install a strainer upstream the control valve to debris from clogging the cage??
very interesting.Thanks
Really helpful.Thanks
Great Animation!

simply awesome.... thanks a lot
Pregunta .. Esa válvula es de sello hermético ?
Thanks lot

How do i know if a valve damaged due to cavitation or due to sediment?

why cavitation doesn't happen in A/C system .going from high pressure to low pressure
Please visit our page on cavitation.
www.emerson.com/en-us/automation/valves-actuators-regulators/control-valves/cavitation
because in a/c is pressured gas , not liquid, and it never become liquid, just gas under different pressures
And why cavitation doesn't destroy homogenizers (valve) in dairy industry (process: homogenization of milk)? Thanks!
genius
Wisper cage is good
Does hvof coating can avoid damage
HVOF coatings may help the trim stand up to damage longer, but treating the cause of the cavitation is a better long term option.

The way of the flow is most highly wrong!? Doesn’t it suppose to go from down to top?
Flow can be in either direction

I do wonder who's dislike the video?
another valves company
Garrash Q, I see, but there are no reasons to dislike at all...
Angry pressurized bubbles
some religius people that think that god makes cavitation as everything in space?
Someone who failed hydraulic exam
