    O-toro are the best steings I've ever used. They add a ton of free power without sacrificing spin or control. I'm a 4.5 player and highschool level coach. I hit hard and my students that hit hard love this string too. We call it our cheat mode. I string it at 60lbs in my Solinco racquets and it's amazing.

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did not find that to be the case whatsoever, but it is all subjective. From my experience, Restring Zero provides the most power for free of any poly I've tried to date and O-Toro was not in that league. I actually think big hitters like it not because it gives additional power for free, but instead allows big hitters to hit-out on their shots more comfortably without sacrificing control

      @@TK-Tennis restring zero was my favorite str8ng before o-toro. I'm guessing it also depends on the racquet and how it compliments it. O-toro feels like we're getting 15-20% more power. What racquet and tension do you use?

      @@PeterNordstrom-rd3ifI'm with you Peter Nordstrom, this string is pretty amazing. I had my doubts after watching TK 's subjective video. I've been using restring zero for about a year, felt great with spin and power. The only thing I didn't like to much was the feel, it felt to plasticky for me. So I went on my string journey and tried toroline wasabi, caviar, and ether. Ether was the one I liked but was stiff. The other two wasabi and caviar was a little muted for me and reminded me of restring zero. But I had to try the O Toro everybody's been raven about. Even strung my racket at 55 lbs on a Wilson pro staff v13 felt great. It has the spin and power of the restring zero and felt very lively. Going to be interesting to see how long they will last with tension and snapback. It's definitely a great string so far and a must try

    Currently have it in my Vcore pro 97 and loving it. I am able to freely swing and it dips in. Easy to place the ball. I wouldn’t say it’s soft but definitely not stiff(after break in ofc).

    I am a 4.5 with big serve and forehand and I have pre-order a couple sets. I do string for my usta teams, and I think you are right, people 4.0 and under that don't have the cleanest strokes should probably stay away. I was hoping for an 18g, but since more advanced players need more durability, might not happen.

    Thanks for the review. I was never interested in these. I've been using the hawk power 17 in the boom pro now for 7 hours. I like using round or 8 sided strings. They are pretty notched up in the sweet spot but still snapping back no problem. They have nice pop, seem pretty lively and responsive. I dont think they are amazing but solid. I may try Big Hitter Silver in here next. I need to buy a second boom pro to put other sets in. 😊

      I typically prefer round stings as well. When Hawk Power was released last year, I was hoping it was going to be the best Head string but for several minor reasons I just didn't jell with it. I am reviewing another Head string right now and I suspect you may be very interested in the final outcome.

      @@TK-Tennis I have played 2 matches now with the string and I have to agree - your review was very accurate. I agree this is string for high level players. I did notice that metal feeling. Its advertised as the top spin and arm friendly string, but I didn’t notice that it gave additional spin. Spin is good, but I thought this one will be very good. I play a 18x20 string pattern - this string can feel really rewarding, but hits out the sweet spot looses impact - therefore yes its a string for really good players. I am still going to play more. For some reason I cant put it down yet. I played really well with the string and I am adjusting to the string. I need to play some more - but mostly I think you did a really good review and summary. This string is not a string that will give you free anything.

      @@jean-pierreuys1554 Did the metallic sound go away for you after a couple of sessions? It's nice to hear you had a similar experience. Just found your channel and I love the consise thoughtful breakdowns of your string reviews...Subscribed. I'm a rec 3.5 player and I'm currently using Restring Zero and Wasabi X crosses and mains or vis versa and I'm mostly happy with it, but was wondering if you had any other recommendations or current favs that I might try out at my level?

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My most common poly recommendation between 3.5 and 4.5 is Kirshbaum Orange. It's a very comfortable soft-poly that has great feel and pop and is incredibly budget friendly. For the price and playability it's really hard to beat, it's worth a try. Thanks for subscribing and I hope I steer you in the right direction, but you won't hurt my feeling if you don't like it...it's all personal preference after all. I did a review on it as well.
      Solinco Confidential or Hyper G round may be good options to try as well. From my experience and from stringing for all levels, I would think you may like these options better than Zero.

      I'm a 4.5 player and used Head Hawk Touch 17g for a while on the Head Gravity Tour and the Head Extreme Tour. It's easy on the arm, more of a muted control string. Spin and power is average. Has good touch/feel on the ball. Maintains tension well.
      I haven't tested the Razor Code White, but I really didn't like the Razor Code Black.
      I do like Medvedev's new string, Razor Code Soft... It's more for players who have a full swing and generate their own power. It's a control string with nice spin/touch.
      My favorite string setup right now though is the Toroline K-Pro or the Super Toro. K-Pro has the edge because it's easier on the arm.

    Blending this O-toro with a round, comfy, powerful and soft(ish) string like Head Lynx Touch or Enso Pro is probably a way to go for rec folks. Maybe even using O-toro in the cross just for a bit of extra bite, control, tension maintenance. Can't wait to get my 3 test sets in the mail, the hype is for reals though, O-toro is out of stock!

    • @TK-Tennis
      @TK-Tennis  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I typically follow the rule to place the shaped poly's in the mains since the mains are mostly responsible for biting into the ball. Looking forward to what you think of O-Toro after you try it for a while.

      @@TK-Tennis I tried my to compare my fave blend so far of Super Toro mains with Super Smash crosses to O-Toro mains with Super Smash crosses. I didn’t really feel much difference side by side in the same rackets, Yonex RDiS 100 Mid. I strung mains at 50lbs no pre-stretch and crosses at 53lbs 10% pre-stretched. Very little difference, just a tad more spin/power with Super Toro mains and a bit more control with O-Toro mains. O-Toro seems to hold tension better and notches up less, snapping back in place even after 6-7h of hitting. Will try it in tourney settings next, best way to make a decision imo :) Thank you again for your videos, I probably wouldn’t consider trying such blends. I never liked Super Smash and even Super Toro was kind of okay in full bed, nothing special. But their blend certainly a hit, checks most/all boxes!

      @@alexsad1000 Good deal, the Super Toro and KO blend was the only blend that I thought was as good as some of my favorite polys in a full bed. As you may have realized from watching, overall I'm disappointed in the Blend experiment I had going for a while and now have been focused on understanding each string specifically without blending them. I spent the last 4 days playing with Toro Toro and that review is coming out very soon and I think it may surprise, it did for me.
      btw, food for thought. When I was playing with O-Toro I was alternating between it and KO as I was hitting with a regular hitting partner. He does not know I do string reviews and as I was alternating between strings, he stopped me and asked why I was switching. I told him I was just trying out a new string and he said, "whenever you switch to the Orange string your ball has more jump and it's more challenging for me". This was a completely unsolicited moment and I would not have noticed this effect from my side of the net. He said you should stick with the Orange, this is when I knew O-Toro was not giving me any power for free versus KO.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it helps me on my end as well. Let me know how it goes after the tourni

      @@TK-Tennis I'm still hopeful for the blends here :) Agreed that it's probably a good idea to try strings in full bed to have better understanding of their performance. I kind of feel like cross string should be smooth and round for better and longer lasting performance. My best 3 blends so far are Super Toro or O-Toro/Super Smash, Wasabi Pro (Wasabi/Wasabi X) and Head Lynx Tour/Head Lynx Touch, all have slick smooth round polys in crosses, shaped mains. Looking forward to your full Toro Toro review. That's probably the one to try first as a full bed, maybe Snapper as well.

      You have a keen 👂. I started on the Gravity Pro for a year and realized it was too unwieldy during point play and developing tennis elbow for 1st time in my life (amazing solid stick otherwise). Then figured the MP would be more fitting and it was, however I wanted to be able the customize the balance and swing weight. There is not a lot of flexibility when customizing a MP or most other 300g racquets, so I decided to go down to the MPL as a more flexible starting platform. This doesn’t always work because many of the light versions have different beam widths, head sizes or other changes to the design.
