They're very rare though and if you look up images of a stock RX7 on google, the vast majority do come with a little spoiler to apologies for that mistake!

The reason so many JDM cars are inaccurately modeled is because back in the 2000s, the import/tuner scene was really big in car culture. The early Forza Motorsport games made sure to have the car list feature those kinds of models heavily. However, they never actually remade any models over the years, just slightly updated the old models to support better textures and graphics. These car models are the exact same ones from the 2000s Motorsport titles. Keep in mind, both Gran Turismo and Need For Speed wiped their car lists and started with fresh, new laser-scanned models for their 8 gen console releases. Forza never did that at all, they just keep reusing SEVERELY outdated car models. While the oldest GT and NFS car models you see in their recent titles can be up to 7-8 years old, Forza's oldest models can be up 18+ years. No, I'm not joking.
Yes, correct. I just add the only older car they remodelled was the first gen NSX in FH2. And lost all customization

The Silvia, R32 Skyline, R34 Skyline, R32 Golf, Trueno, and really all the older JDMs needs a newer and scanned models
I wish these models will be update in Forza Motorsport 2023.

With the EP3, what’s even more wrong is that despite having the prefacelift front end, it has facelift rear lights and the seats are wrong too. In game it has plain black recaros but the civics in real life that had recaros came with red/black or just plain red.
I'm confused... the game has both the face-lift front and rear lights which is correct and the black recaros you could special order...
@@mattyg267 no, In game it has the pre facelift front despite it being a ‘2004’ car which was facelifted. For the seats, most didn’t have recaros but the premier edition ep3 (I own one) came with red/black recaros and the Jdm ep3 had all red. No ep3 ever came with plain black recaro seats. Hope that clears it up.
It does have the facelift headlights, but the front bumper is clearly from a pre-facelift.
Always felt ( for a long time ) that the 2002 Ferrari 575 M Maranello was poorly modelled, the proportions just looks weird and off in a strange way, guess it's an old model that has been reused in several Forza games, like many other cars in Forza sadly
boy oh boy do I have news for you, I checked it for myself and not a single part of the body in Forza is even close to the real 575M
That wheel design was available on the 2015 Jaguar F Type R and it is dished like that, it just does not seem to have been a very popular choice.

If your wondering why the Kenwood is removed from horizon 4-5 is because they asked for licencing money being displayed in the game and turn 10 didn't want to spend money on something so few will ever pay attention too, so can blame the Kenwood for being a little greedy for a tiny name in a compartment that'd only available forzavista

Fun fact, the RX-7 came wingless in 1993, but it was weaker then the winged version. The wingless version had 246 bhp. Anyways hope this helps with all the RX-7 issues, also idk the name of those versions
The other thing about the McLaren F1 is that I'm pretty sure that spoiler is an air-brake, and not used for aerodynamics. It's active aero apparently is the underbody airflow. I try looking up "McLaren F1 active aero spoiler", but nothing seems to suggest it is used for that. In Gran Turismo it is just used as an air brake I believe.
Forza did good on most cars, but they had a few cars did not get the same treatment which is kinda disappointing

The Lamborghini Reventon, Ferrari FXXK Evo and 2005 Ferrari FXX has the same problem as the Turbo S, the aero panels don't move

EP3 also has either a shifted model to one side or different wheel spacing left to right - look at the fitment on both sides and you'll see it. The 1940 Ford Deluxe also has this issue, most noticeable if you install race/drift suspension since the car sits very high in stock form.
Some of these aren't even "badly" modeled, just minor errors

Yeah but top of the spec RX-7 comes wingless it's a bit like a Subaru Impreza except the other way round you can get a Subaru Impreza wingless but the top of the spec Impreza WRX STi comes with a wing see the difference. I have a model kit of this RX-7 and it's not top spec

For the mclaren f1, in horizon 3 the kenwood logo did appear on the F1 however kenwood pulled their licensing with forza during horizon 4’s development and they haven’t been back since,

Ford F-450 DRW: Depending on which tire compound you choose, sometimes the rear wheels are displayed accurately as double rear wheels, or they will merge into one really wide rear wheel. Idk why

Surprised there's no mention of the mk4 golf R32. Other than from the front, the shape is all out of proportion and the rear wheel isn't even centred to the wheel arch 😂
What was even worse with the mx5 was the fact that the door handles wer mix matched, one was chrome as it should be stock and one was body colored lol

the s14 kouki is pretty strange in modeling. i'd say it doesn't really look like an s14. it's not as round and damn..that front end
With the RX-7, it's not the fact it doesn't have a wing (that did actually come stock on the base model, like you've corrected in the pinned comment), but the general shape is just a little off. In both the 1997 one and the Spirit R, the modelling of the panels and proportions just aren't quite there. I can't really pick out specifics, except maybe the fron bumper vents on the Spirit R. Just the overall shape of both models is wrong. I think the most accurate FD model on any game to this day has to be on Midnight Club Los Angeles.
Also, about the Civic Type R: The red badge might be inaccurate, but I think we can let them off with the bumper. When a manufacturer changes a car model in a certain year, it's usually some time through the year (e.g. April). This means that any models from before April that year won't have been affected by the changes, which is how you end up with pre-facelift 2004 models.

for the Mclaren F1, there was probably a licensing issue with Kenwood (I'm making the wild assumption that any brand pictured in-game needs to give the game devs licensing to the name).
I really hope Maverick Games could try to get the cars exactly like there real life models. I’m not too sure about Horizon because there are rumors that Lego might be the next expansion since the Motorsport reboot sort of placed Lego cars around the devs workspaces. I’m worried about the future of this franchise and it won’t be the same.
Maverick? You do know that it isn't known whether they are making a open world car game or that Maverick didn't replace Playground at all?
Another thing is that it says 3.6l on Jeep Wrangler engine displacement although when you open the hood in forzavista it says 3.8l.

The so called “1994” Ferrari 355 is wrong in FH5. It should have a proper manual gearbox, but actually in the game it’s the F1 355 with the flappy paddles.
Honestly, the manual 355 is one of my favorite cars ever. And it ruins it for me that it’s the sloppy paddle version. It’s not even the right year for the flappy pedizle
I’ve noticed the GT86 and BRZ has a normal antenna rather than a shark fin looking one that they do in real life.
Seems like they nailed the old school classics.

also the front end of the AE 86, the MASSIVE headlight caps on the 22b Sti, the front wheel localization on the MK4 Golf GTI, and so many more probabbly

The Vauxhall Monaro in Australia is actually a HSV not the normal CV8 Monaro you showed that the GTO is also based on and that's based on our 2000s Commodore, the vt and vx respectively. Which is where it gets it's shape and light shapes from, kind of.
The W212 on Forza is a bit inaccurate with the side profile DLO.
Honestly, I don’t really pay attention to these minor errors on the cars mentioned here because in the end, I get them modified. But kudos for spotting these errors though.

The E36 is truly the worst offender, the forums worked out they’d used an E36 soft top for the scan, and then just made it into a coupe, and the shape of the roof is so wrong 😂 MK4 R32 is a joke as well, it’s so square 😂

I'm really hoping the new Forza Motorsport solves allot of issues. I've played Forza since Motorsport 1 I remember going to Asda after DJn at 3am in the morning to get horizon 1 😂😂 But if our answers for this any many more don't get answered that's enough for me

The rear on the monaro model looks WAY too fat compared to real life, it’s sad how badly proportional the model is, but the 2006 gto from Forza Motorsport 4 was by far a much better model but they discontinued it and went along with this same old model again

The branding for Aussie cars in Forza is very weird I find, especially Holdens. While Holden do have their own brand in the Forza games, maybe due to weird GM licencing, the VE Commodore is still listed as a Pontiac and the Monaro is still a Vauxhall, something I thought would be fixed in Horizon 3 but nope.
And Aussie/Euro Ford's are listed as American made, so I guess the Country origin of a car is only related to the Manufacturer origin itself in Forza, and not to the specific car.
Another little discrepancy as well is that Holden's performance brand, HSV, is it's own separate manufacturer in the games, but aussie Ford's performance brand, FPV, is lumped into the Ford manufacturer in-game
I reckon Forza are too lazy to remodel Holden badges and bumpers for the commodore. The monaro should probably just be put under Holden by now though I’d have thought, but guess Forza be forza

One thing I noticed a long time ago, a lot of the cars in forza have the wrong proportions, like they're too wide, high, etc. If you ever wonder why a car in forza just feels off to its real counterpart, thats the reason

You forgot Mclaren Senna, the car suppose to be RHD considering the car spec itself most notably the exhaust is based on UK version of Mclaren Senna

As much as I appreciate any awareness to forza model faults, these little things that are slightly different don't even come close to the major body distortion of the '69 Camaro, '70 Chevelle, '70 Challenger, etc. that have been "basically" the same models since FM1 just like the S15. Go to internet game cars database for proof! I think its time we push/protest for new models of the F'd up ones already in the game!!
