For anyone who is interested let me explain the chemistry. Anything soluble in water has a limit to how much of it can be dissolved in the water. When you heat up the water it lets more solvent delusive and if you cool it slowly you can get a super saturated solution.(a solution that has more solvent in it then should be possible.) when you have a super saturated solution the solvent “wants” to condensate as to not be super saturated. When add sugar into the water it gives the sugar a place to attack to and stabilize the solution. In some super saturated solutions, just bumping it hard will cause it to rapidly condense but it depends on the solution.
Can I reuse this same water + sugar + dye? Or can you only do it once? It seems to me that all the material left in the pot is discarded afterwards. It seems to me very wasteful.
You can, i've done it before. Will probably only work once though and you may want to put a cover over whatever you're making it in so dust/whatever doesn't fall in. Also for the first batch, we mixed in a little vanilla or mint or almond (what we had on hand) into each glass. Then my kids wanted to try them all mixed, and I said "what the heck," hence knowing it works for a second batch. Cant say it tasted very good on the second go though... And the second batch were smaller than the first.
You _could,_ but the crystals will be a lot smaller and the color might be duller. It's literally just some sugar and water mixed together, the waste factor is kinda negligible.
Ooooh I Remember I Was Grade 6th I Was Making Rock Candy With Jar Food Coloring And String And paper Clip And I Have To Wait untill 5 days it turn out good but I will try that but thank you
Wait until the water has cooled first. Be very gentle when you lower it. As long as there is some on the stick it will a t as the starting point for the crystals to form
If you have enough time, you could actually make profit from selling them if you price them right, im using it as a side hustle to save for something Edit: since the sugar crystallizes on the sides and bottom it’s not directly reusable, I like to pour the water out, heat the sugar up on the stove and it’s ready to use for tanghulu :)
My nan is chinese and she is a really good cook and she makes these for me alot and there is one secret ingredient that she using if i get 300k likes on this comment then i will tell you what makes them the best :)
can anybody tell me why the coated sugar on the stick always fell everytime i put it in the sugar syrup?i did wait it completely dry thou … thx in advance.

Great sharing
How long do you need to boil it?
Could those jars be reused for more Rock Candy or do you need to empty the jar and clean it every single time?
You can reuse it but if u reuse it too many times it can start tasting strange
Thx i really wonder and curious before
@@Ezra.14the strange taste is millions if not billions of microscopic mould

Can you re-use the sugar and water mixture again
no because you need a clean sugar solution without any crystals (other than the ones on your stick)
Yes. But you must reheat and add more sugar
❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉🎉❤ the best rock recipe
Can you add more than one stick?
Definitely, there’s lots of liquid still there

@Aiming632 we dont care
how many times we can make like this sweet from one bottle of boiled and cooled coloured suger syrup
To reuse, you will have to heat until boiling again and add more sugar.
I love it 😀 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Can I reuse the leftovers??
Yes but you have to add a bit more sugar
Do they need to stay in the fridge or is room temperature ok?
Once you have added the sugar solution to the jars, they should be stored room temp, out of refrigeration.
Thank you!! @@CorgiCookie107
