I’m lost. What are the transition colors and WHY would you ever need to blend purple and yellow

Transition colors are colors that help smoothly blend other colors together. Like if you have a dark pink and a light pink, a medium pink would be a transition color. With these, I shaded the purple to a more warm tone so that pink and orange would be the transition colors to get to yellow. People use this color combo for lots of things! I use it frequently as well in my works. Hair, clothes, shadows/highlights, etc etc are things people may use this for
