- Hey magical sparks! Today I’ll be sharing with you guys ‘everything I know about colouring with alcohol-based markers!’ I’ve tried to make it beginner friendly so I hope it helps more people out 😊
Also, sorry for the dull and boring voice over - I really wasn’t in a great mood with all that was going on for me this week… but hopefully things get better soon.

I love how enthusiastic your voice usually is but to be honest I found this voiceover very calm and refreshing which was very nice. I’ve been using alcohol markers for a while now but I don’t really like them as much as everybody else seems to. I have a hard time picking out colors. It’s cool to hear that you’ve also struggled with them in the past. it’s also so motivating since your art now is truly amazing!!! This video was very helpful :)

What I do when I color is first I pick the colors, then I pick 3/4 different shades. I will either use them for blending, or just the colors in general. I don’t know if ppl do this, but I feel it’s very useful

i love the honesty lol and super apricate the voice over cause it is soooo useful
When I work with alcohol markers, my set didn’t come with a protective sheet, so I use newspaper.

Thanks for the tips! I am pretty new to alcohol markers. I personally prefer Marker paper, because it makes a very smooth blend when I draw. I use microns, which work quite well. The only problem is that they bleed if the ink is still wet. The shading techniques were really useful. Thank you for the video!

Btw I’ve been using the Ohuhu alcohol based markers for 3 months now and I’m finally getting the hang of it, so this video isn’t that much of a help for me but 3 months ago I would of watched this like 9 times, now don’t get me wrong I’m going to watch this like 3 times anyway because it will help soooo much.

I use sharpie markers with watercolor markers, pencils, gel pens and/or color pencils when i'm drawing (right now for example). And yes, there are a little bit difficult to use correctly, but you can paint with them when you found your colour style whe you want to use markers.

Since I only color for fun, I color on printed paper for the ghosting/bleeding effect, then use the back page as reverse coloring book.

For christmas I wanted a new sketchbook and Ohuhu markers like the whole set and idk why but I am just so obsessed with Ohuhu markers but also I don't know what to draw. BUT the last thing I wanna say is that I love your videos!😃😃😃😄
Happy April fools day !!! Idk if others celebrate it outside of Singapore but yeah! Sparkle, people say my art is ugly because of my colouring but now I hope people will actually like (coz I’m gonna colour it like you did. You are my serious role model and that’s a true thing coz you cant trust a 9 year old ( like me) to keep the same role model for more than a month. Anyways, you are so good at drawing and colouring. Yes, we celebrate April’s Fool Day in the UK and all the newspapers and news channels try to sneak a news item through to trick the public. Keep drawing and colouring how you want to! As you get older you’ll realise there are a lot of people who don’t know what they are talking about but are ready to share their opinions. Just ask them to show you their drawings.

The easiest way to blend is to touch the marker nibs for a second. One marker will take a dash of the other colour and it will be easier to get a smooth variation

Turned out fabulous! The background looks like lipgloss ✨
You can use Semi-Translucent Marker Paper to protect from bleeding through. Just put a sheet behind the page you are colouring. You can use the Translucent Page over and over again.
