Just wanting to say SUPER thank you ADS for the work you did with my injectors, on my Cummins 2002/5.9/24v. My bus has never had that level of power and performance. MPG went from 9mpg to 12mpg. A VP44 will be arriving in early spring to you for a total rebuild as well.
So they came in as licorice candy and go out as snickers. I appreciate the lesson on how they work. I am not a mechanic, especially a diesel mechanic, but more of a glorified parts changer. I am hoping to retire from my computer programming job in a few years and start up a part time welding business. I do blacksmithing and welding on my youtube channel. When I do that I hope to buy an older dodge truck and turn it into a welding truck. I would like a diesel but have no idea what to look out for and if I get one that needs work.... I will be calling and sending in stuff to get rebuilt. :) Thanks again.
Just curious. You said repairing those was around 600. How does that compare to buying replacements? Just wondering if rebuilding usually saves half the price but I am sure it is one of those "It all depends" situations. Thanks again.
Great question. The knob opens a valve that exposes the gauge to the pressure generated by the hand pump. We only open the valve when we are ready to measure the opening pressure.
Yes. We use the same method of course. Force devided by square. But from kg/ cm it became bar staying 1=1. Nowadays its pascal. 100 Kpa=1bar. Kpa stands for kilo(1000)pascal. And is easely to be mistaken for Kilopounds wich it is definately!! not. But we like to pull you guys leg😂😉. Its still milibar (0,000) for atmosferic air pressure. Sorry for our inconsistency😂. 1 inch mercury= 3,38 Kpa.
