So you're telling me John and Paul weren't thinking of sneakers and cookies when they wrote Revolution and Good Day Sunshine? 🤔I gotta agree with John as far as the covers go, with the possible exception of Joe Cocker, who took the music in a unique direction. Not necessarily better than the Beatles, but definitely better than those orchestrated, more sanitized versions of the mainstream artists. And I personally think Yesterday would have been a better tune without the strings. Back when cassettes were a thing I used to make mixed music tapes and I liked to isolate the left track with just Paul picking his acoustic and singing the song. It really is a pretty melody and I'm one of those who tends to subscribe to the less is more approach.
That was a good interview. Those two were such a powerhouse. I believe they would have done something together down the road had John not been murdered by that 20 time loser. I love all the Beatles but John and Paul were the engine and it would have been interesting to hear what they might have done in their 40s. I know it's counterfactual speculation on my part but it's cool to think of all the same. Hearing Martha howling in the background as a pup was a nice touch. I was a pup then too so I can relate. Anyway, thanks for uploading this one.
