I ran 25km in this Via Olympus 2 right out of the box. It's soft but not mushy. Compare to my old favorite Vanish Tempo, the 2 is less responsive but the firmness is the same. The upper is decent breathability

sounds like another reason to wait for vanish 2

    Couple questions my man.
Do you think Altra is a dying company?
Why don’t popular brands take up the wide toe box idea while remaining with a normal standard shoe?
TOPOS and Altra seem to be failing on the stock market. Wonder what you think.
    *not looking for financial advice*

I love Altra and use them a lot for daily training and trailrunning. I did stock up on the torin 4.5 which i think is in of their best ever, happy i did since Torin 5 and 6 sucked apparently(not tried 7) Might have a look at this one next spring:)

have heard the torin 7 is pretty solid! this one looks like a nice recovery shoe as long as the weight doesn't bother you

I like the Ego Max in my Torin 5's. The Via Olympus looks like a really nice shoe for walking or being on your feet all day but, at 11+ oz., it may have a hard time breaking through to a wider audience.

yeahhh anything above 10.5 oz is a hard sell for me. but with this being the only zero drop max cushion shoe it's unfortunately the "best" option for hardline no-droppers. have heard good things about the torin 7 tho

Altra uses size 10.5 for their weights

Altra overall has serious quality control issues with their outsoles.

do ur homework before throwing vids in the altra search result feed. "they started out in trail" has been officially brushed off by brian already recently, like all og users already know.

Hi there, thanks for watching and for the thoughtful correction! You are right - I should have been clearer and said that some of Altra's early success came from finding a foothold in the trail market with models like the Lone Peak, and they are now making a bigger, more ambitious investment in their road product with shoes like the Vanish Tempo, Vanish Carbon, Via Olympus and AltraFWD Experience all being released over the past few years. Thanks again for engaging with my channel! I hope you have a great weekend
