As I was watching this episode, I couldn't help but think that Joe would be a juicy target for a pirate. He's worth millions of dollars, famous, and beloved. But as I thought about it more, I realized Joe would be the absolute WORST person to kidnap. Think about it. Dana White would fund the money for a rescue operation because piracy is FUCKING ILLEGAL. Eddie Bravo would fly a jet to Joe's location and spray it down with chem trails to weaken Joe's captors. Joe's immaculate gut health thanks to ONNIT ™ brand probiotics would allow him to endure the chemtrail spray unscathed. Putting Joe alone in a hot prison cell would just enable him a distraction-free environment to do hot yoga 24/7, making him even stronger over time. Bill Burr would be able to fly the rescue team in with his helicopter. Brian Redban would supply everyone with Rhino 2 boner pills to keep them awake and on alert through the long travel in Bill Burr's helicopter. Young Jamie would use his illegally-obtained Huawei phone to hack the GPS location of Joe and his captors. Brendan Schaub would be the first one out of the helicopter, smashing everyone in his path with straight rights while screaming "GADOOSH!" Eddie, fresh from his spray session, would be flying-triangling every Somali in his path. Tim Kennedy would be perched inside the helicopter, miles away, sniping strategically. Cam Hanes would take a more stealthy approach, skulking around the perimeter with his bow before the main crew arrived, picking off guards one by one. Joey Diaz would hop off the chopper high on edibles, Tommy Gun in hand, yelling, "COME GET SOME, COCKSUCKAS!" And finally, once they freed Joe, Joe would give the main guard a THUNDEROUS spinning back kick to the chest that sends him flying off the edge of the flat earth. GSP would come galloping in on a T-Rex and have Joe get on the back for an epic prehistoric escort back to the chopper. Once Joe was back at his studio HQ, Yoel Romero would give him a stool and a Cuban cigar to help him recover and Bryan Callen would serve Joe cheese and wine, before they all feasted on wild buffalo cooked on Joe's pellet grill. Moral of the story? Don't fuck with Joe "Pull that sucker up to your mouth" Rogan, or you will regret it.

Really Amazing Story. Felt sorry multiple times just by watching and hearing him. My heart shrinks when trying to imagine the pain this guy must have had to endure.
295 dislikes?? Some people really need to get out there and experience the world. Nothing but respect for this guy who went through what most people will thankfully never experience and can still forgive the people who captured him. There is still hope for human kind with people like him around!! 👍Respect!!
Maybe the dislikes are for Joe, there was so much more detail this guy could of gone in and instead Joe makes this one of his shortest podcasts not to mention him asking the same questions over and over.
or maybe some of us are against kidnapping. It's all you sicko's who give a thumbs up to pirates kidnapping innocent ppl who need to get out and experience the world smh
William Morse I hadn't heard that word either? What's the problem? Leave the guy alone, if you did 1149 podcasts at 1-4 hours long you'd say a lot more dumb shit I'm sure.
I have never heared the word in english but it's a common expression in german. Michael Scott Moore holds german citizenship and lives in berlin so he must have mixed up the languages . Happens to me all the time concerning both english and german
Some other German words are used in English as well. "Doppelganger" and "Swine" are more commonly used. At least more commonly than "Bulwark". Also, I can't believe you've never heard the word "Bulwark" in English.
My reaction was the same as Joe's when Micheal mentions that 1 of the kidnappers contacted him on Facebook. How the hell would you deal with that after everything you been through. Great respect for how he has recovered from this ordeal.
The topic of “Stockholm syndrome” was avoided, I feel like.. but I have to imagine it existed with the guards who were more kind to him like the one who contacted him
I'm so glad we have somebody like joe to give us real interesting interviews with honest questions and answers. Also, props to mr. Michael Scott Moore having the strength to share his story with us despite that pain and discomfort of reliving those memories..... This interview should set an example for journalists on how to conduct a proper interview of any real worth.
Great episode. Note to self: stay away from the comment section if you want to keep hope alive for humanity. Why tf people are saying this is "fake" or "exaggerating". I'm legit curious where people come up with this narrative.
I only watch Joe Rogans podcast for MMA talk, occasionally I watch some celebrities he brings in or comedians, and I saw this video I never do this but I just clicked the video without even knowing the guy in the thumbnail, I really don’t know why, but in my mind I was like “why not listen to the first 2 minutes of the video” and then little did I know that I would be very interested in this dudes story, because it’s sounding super good and I’m just 15 minutes in and I know it’s gonna get better.
Heard this last night and had the best day yet at this stressful job. When you said you had to forget hope cause going from hope to despair was mind damaging. This told me I had to change my thoughts cause this job was giving me a headache, I was stressing and overthinking.
I love Joe but sometimes he drops the ball a bit as an interviewer. How did his mom pay them the money? How did they meet? How did he get free? All really important and interesting questions. Guess I’ll have to read the book...
They brought up and answered all of these questions in the episode. Mom reached out to family, friends, and magazines he had worked for. Met the day of the interview. They brought the bail down to 1.6 and he was freed after 2 years 8 months.
Ian... I'm sure he means he wanted more specifics because I did as well. That could be a movie in of itself. An old lady negotiating and arranging her son's ransom, and then the actual trade. If he wasn't sitting in that chair telling the story I'd of certaintly expected the pirates to have killed him rather than returned him even after recieving the money. Just seems safer that way.
Well this guy does want to leave some information for people to have to read the book to learn. Or other topics may be triggers for him. I imagine they spoke prior to this and did a run down of what was on the table.
Rogan has become the best host & story assessor I've ever seen. He's Larry King & Howard Stern, except evolved without any need to assert dominance or insert himself into the subject's narrative.
I couldn't imagine forgiving the guards who are holding me captive and making my life miserable. The willpower, the strength of mind to get to that point of forgiveness is incredible!

When he had the Ak-47 he should have said “I’m the captain now.”
Diego Rivas That would have been a short-lived captain
You’re a fucking dumb ass
hahahahahahaa
Diego... "Where's ya fukkin tool?" ...not sure these others quite get the yoke...
Diego Rivas 😂😂
Joe "Ive got a bit in my act about being kidnapped by somali pirates" Rogan
Interesting conversation. I'm glad your home, Michael.
Really Amazing Story. Felt sorry multiple times just by watching and hearing him. My heart shrinks when trying to imagine the pain this guy must have had to endure.
Incredible. About to go buy this guys book, what a truly remarkable story.
How on earth could somebody dislike this??
King JSwag fk off
Deuki Ray why?
Yeah I just got the audiobook to listen to when I'm doing shit around the house
King JSwag people think he’s lying
Roman T lying about what? Being kidnapped?? That's a hell of a thing to accuse without any evidence
The real question is, when and where did you beat off?
Did they offer you a..... hand?
mom!
Have a pocket wank on the down low
He was good the Italians dropped a load of flesh lights that washed ashore👌
Right in front of the pirates, maintaining eye contact the whole time. Establishes dominance.
Best episode since goggins. This man needs a drink a hug and the fattest joint possible
Joe had a look at the end, "I want to hug this guy." I hope he did. You know the fat joint was offered.
Guest looks so stressed. He is clearly still impacted by this horrific ordeal.
Joe "Sniffs Right Into The Microphone" Rogan
Just as I read this comment he sniffed into the mic!
Thank god other people have noticed! I thought it was just me.
Yeah he seems to have a runny nose that never goes away cough''' (coke)cough''' that he allegedly never has tried EVER !!! LMAO
CosmoJoe101, dude same hahah
Maybe he is trying to smell if his breath stinks on the mic?🤷♂️
I have my phone in my hand or pocket when on TH-cam and I've accidentally disliked many videos. I take it back if I notice it.
Joe "you need animal protein" Rogan
Joe "What's a Bulwark?" Rogan
I still can't believe he didn't know what a bulwark is.
William Morse I hadn't heard that word either? What's the problem? Leave the guy alone, if you did 1149 podcasts at 1-4 hours long you'd say a lot more dumb shit I'm sure.
Cammy 96 I can't believe you didn't know what a bulwark is.
THANK YOU---THIS EPISODE REALLY LIFTED ME UP AND HELPED ME TODAY--- MUCH GRATITUDE
great episode
PrivateFearless fuck off. Go play mincraft. These are adult podcasts.
Robert Phillips Right... that's why I said it. Our children are the future, bro.
well aren't you mad about nothing, have a good day.
whats REALLY wrong bud
$100 says Schwab will be chewing mouthfuls of Khat on the next episode of TFATK. 😆
The book was absolutely phenomenal, one of my favorites
Damn! Young Jamie with the speedy upload!
Great episode. Note to self: stay away from the comment section if you want to keep hope alive for humanity. Why tf people are saying this is "fake" or "exaggerating". I'm legit curious where people come up with this narrative.
It should be, Note to self: stay the fuck out of Somalia and every other hopeless, shit hole country!
Ummm.... any flat earther’s out there that want to help answer Akyra’s question?
Joe: did you fend them off with bow hunting?
Joe this is your best interview so far. Well done. You should feel proud of this.
this is the types of people you gotta get on the podcast joe. Truly an awing episode
what a phenomenal podcast! beyond captivating.
Nothing better ! JRE always giving great content. Thanks Joe....im speechless
Heard this last night and had the best day yet at this stressful job. When you said you had to forget hope cause going from hope to despair was mind damaging. This told me I had to change my thoughts cause this job was giving me a headache, I was stressing and overthinking.
This is my favorite episode of Joe Rogan's podcast, hands down. I'd have to think back over the past 1148 episodes, but I think I'm on the nose.
Did you put him in the sensory deprivation tank and feed him elk after?
Ptah Adam some MDMA therapy in Canada?
Wait wait . I can get mdma from doctors :o
Nein. He put him in an elk and fed him deprivation.
This is the prime Rogan that we come to see.
wait what? this guys did Pilates for 2 years? wow that's crazy.
i'm tense just listening to him tell his story
amazing man.
love how he still so humble about the situation .Hope he recovers
This was a fascinating podcast, wish it was longer though!
Glink are u deaf or something?
Well this guy does want to leave some information for people to have to read the book to learn. Or other topics may be triggers for him. I imagine they spoke prior to this and did a run down of what was on the table.
Glink By the way I enjoy your videos as well.
What an insane interview this guy's amazing
This episode was brutal.
Been listening on the edge of my seat for the whole episode.
Thank you so much for sharing your story.
It's SUCH a shame that this isn't longer. I want more of this!
Rogan has become the best host & story assessor I've ever seen. He's Larry King & Howard Stern, except evolved without any need to assert dominance or insert himself into the subject's narrative.
You must have missed #1147 Debra Soh
This podcast made me realize how good at this he is
Merkaba pump the breaks
Dirk Diggler huhuh Dirk Diggler told me to pump
@@michaelgrover3443 thats 1 podcast out of a 1000
Joe "look at me im the captain now" Rogan
The 1k dislikes are the pirates watching on their new smartphones
This story gave me chills. Incredible Interview/conversation.
I couldn't imagine forgiving the guards who are holding me captive and making my life miserable. The willpower, the strength of mind to get to that point of forgiveness is incredible!
