For me, these last two winter styling videos have been exactly what I need to help me look 'good' (not just in winter) and to be comfortable in my own skin and to have the confidence that I can put an outfit together; both, for myself and my kids. For you, I think effortlessly elegance is second nature; but, if you want to know the impact these videos have had - please know, that there are people like myself (I happen to be in the defense industry and have.. sorry, had no clue how to dress nicely outside of work) who are so so grateful for the styling wisdom you take the time to impart on us. A big thank you from San Diego. ❤

Ty Lydia! I really appreciate your advice and exquisite style. Having to rebuild my whole wardrobe at 68 after just losing 125 lbs. has been challenging at times but so much fun because of all the knowledge and advice I'm receiving after watching your videos. Looking back I was always a quiet luxury gal but with my weight being an issue, sadly I was limited. At 68 I'm finally enjoying fashion the way that I've always wanted to and dreamed of. It seems that now I've thinking of fashion around the clock. Ty again for all of your ever so helpful advice.

I love your style but I often feel that I can't pull off the looks due to my body shape/size. I am 5'2 (very short) with a short torso...it would help if you could style a variety of body frames. ..perhaps you have a couple of lady friends that could help you out with that 😁 with such a growth in inclusivity I would love to learn how to accommodate your looks to my frame. Great video, thanks for the ideas🥰

I agree with @arleneaparicio4405 and would also like some winter styling ideas that don't include coats. I live in a mild winter climate where most of the time a coat isn't necessary. Would love to see some suggestions where a coat isn't needed to balance out the outfit. Lydia, your styling ideas are so inspiring!

What outstanding advice that transcends the seasons. Knowing the rationale of pairing clothing makes for easy application when selecting ensembles. I might add though, right or wrong, there isn’t anything that you put on that doesn’t look wonderful! I believe the concept here is to say that whatever your wear can look EVEN BETTER if your style advice and rationale are followed. Thank you for this informative video.

Excellent "lessons"! Always to the point, practical AND doable without needing to purchase a ton of things.
One thing I often struggle with is using my clothes and accessories correctly/appropriately. What I mean is that I am very often stumped as to when I should/can wear certain things. I have many nice things in my wardrobe and I don't wear them as much as I should, only because I always prefer to go with what's safe and obviously less edgy and "statement". I am not sure if I can wear those higher heels, my bolder jewellery or my patent booties in the morning. What makes something formal or casual, apart from the profoundly obvious? What makes a bag good only for morning, or afternoon? IS there even such a thing? Must I wear my oversize pouch bag in the morning only? Could I wear it in the evening to the movies? Is a patent bag ok in the morning? Or is it taboo to do so? What are some "Never wear this to such and such,..., or "Always wear baggy clothes in the morning..." , basically, any kind of hard-fast rules/ tips you could possibly share on that topic? I'm getting much less wear out of my clothes, although you have helped me curate my things immensely and there is almost nothing in my closet that I don't like. Pfff...I feel like such a wimp!
Last Sunday, I was invited to a christening and I wasn't sure if I could wear the new, little "evening" bag I got from ZARA a month ago. It's absolutely gorgeous: small, black and has delicate feathers on its bottom half, that dangle a bit below the bottom of the bag and a thin gold chain. Of course it was an hour-long debate that ended very predictably- I opted for something safer, but I was really itching to wear my new one. Would it have been appropriate for a morning christening? I also have a skiing trip coming up in 15 days. I have NO idea what is considered appropriate ski-wear, apres ski-wear, etc. Please, please, please help the imbecile. 🙄😍

Thank you Lydia and congratulations yet again, you always do such a great job with these type of videos. You should bring out an educational reference book inline with all of your series of these videos. Your tips and guidelines are top class because they are stylish functional practical and you never fail to remind your audience to look within their own wardrobe for similar pieces to create the look, not having to go out and buy the actual item, which allows them also to practice thier own sense of creativity, whether it be the simple addition of sunglasses different bag or belt, jewellery etc., well done.

Me too…soft classic. I’ve been trying the oversized trend in coats and it looks like I’m drowning. Balancing with other big pieces, like big boots doesn’t work either, then I’m completely drowned. My closet is full of fitted coats that I think look amazing but make me feel out of style. What’s a classic to do🧐

But affordable style tips that can be recreated using high-street readily available clothing (although ideally ethical and not fast fashion please) would be really useful too because honestly the price of designer clothing can be completely ridiculous and it would be quite boring to only have one coat for many years. Might be nice instead to buy a few from high street brands and be able to have a bit more fun with fashion. But for me i find that’s where the danger comes in. I can quite easily look like the crazy bag lady if I’m not careful 😂

Thank you for another great video. It's interesting what you say about not neglecting jewellery in the winter. It's taken me years to realise that scarves are my 'necklace' because I don't like dainty jewellery at all. I've also noticed, when we had to wear a mask at work, and now with chunky jumpers, that I've actually lost some dangly earrings, because they've caught in my jumper and fallen out without me noticing. If I wear earrings now, i make sure they're well away from my collar. I have a couple of chunky necklaces I wear with a poloneck, but that's about it. I prefer them in the summer to wear with T shirts.

I love these types of videos! I’ve noticed the last tip about imbalance but before you mentioned in previous videos, I never was able to figure out why some women look very pleasing in their style and some not. Now I know it was partially due to imbalance. Anyone know what to wear for shoes with shinny jeans? I’ve noticed usually it’s paired with ballet flats, but I don’t really like the look of that pairing. Suggestions?

It depends what you wear on rhe top
If the the top is flowy or chunky, then according to this advice, some chunkier shoes..loafers or boots. Ballet flats look terrible on me, and they are too flat to walk in, as well as slipping off all the time.

I love watching you try on outfits it helps me see before buying myself . I find you have Classic and stylish looks always ❤
Would be cool to see you in something really bright or clashing (matchy-clashing)
it’s something I don’t do often but I am going to venture out … wish me luck.

Great and useful video! I would like to see a video on how to create a handbag collection. They are such investment pieces and it is difficult to keep the big picture of what works with the capsule wardrobe in terms of size, material, colour......

Loved Lesson #5 look with the Popski London Coat! Made me see how we can revamp a look with a coat like this! I'm terrible at balancing the casuals with the dressier looks. I'm either too casual where I look frumpy and lumpy and very unstylish. Too basic without the chic. Then on the other hand, I'm too dressy and overdressed! Any way to balance these two to bring my own style together and create a beautiful marriage of casual + dressy?

Hi Lydia, greetings from Ireland...absolutely love your content. I would classify myself as a fairly knowledgeable fashion lover, but unfortunately, with a caveat. I'm an amputee and can not wear high heels at all. Would you sometime consider doing an advice piece on dressing for flats, including black tie, wide legged trousers, etc? Would be most appreciative.
