    I was unfortunately a witness to this. I was the lonely Soyuz - every time I had a good target it was sunk. My scouting Yeuyang got spotted and sunk leaving me in the middle of the map facing just a non-detected Fletcher. When I was sunk we had a huge point lead and 5 ship advantage. I then watched it melt away to my amazement. I thought at the time - good fodder for Jingles. Oh well, it made a good game to analyze. Kudos to Jingles and his co-host. And he got the perfect opportunity and he took it. And went down like an absolute boss, turning the tides of the battle. And of course that your and the Fletchers patience and play was close to perfect. A lot if DD players have no clue how to use that ship, myself included. WoWs decided to remove team damage to prevent people from killing their teammates.
    So WoWs players just decide to come up with more clever ways of doing it, vis-a-vis pushing allies in the path of torpedoes.
    At least the old system resulted in names turning pink and bans handed out.

    • @soffici1
      @soffici1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Tbf, while I don’t like the idea of removing friendly fire, these ships don’t stop on a dime, so it’s only possible the act of pushing into torps (if it was real, which I doubt, given the level of self awareness of the playerbase) was just a matter of a BB not being able to slow down or stop before hitting the other ship and accidentally pushing it into harm’s way.
      Don’t credit people with malice (which implies some level of cleverness) when stupidity is a good enough explanation…

    • @StephenGoodman1001
      @StephenGoodman1001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Getting rammed so that you can't manoeuvre out of the firing line of enemy ships or are actually rammed into an angle so that you're citadelled is also pretty close.

    • @Amonabus
      @Amonabus 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@soffici1 Another issue with the ramming is that the game is kinda buggy in that regard.
      Ships tend to stick onto friendly ships and even pull ships in the direction the physics engine believes the excess energy should take those players even if they are taking measures to avoid prolonged contact.

    • @jcorbett9620
      @jcorbett9620 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Amonabus Absolutely. More than once, I've had another player who wasn't paying 100% attention to where he was sailing, pin me so effectively, that even though I had full reverse and full rudder to try and break contact, he was simply shoving me along as if I wasn't there. Wasn't until he realised and turned away, that I could break free.

    • @soffici1
      @soffici1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Amonabus you're absolutely right: the ramming mechanics are totally nuts. Do you want another example? Irl, if you hit a ship at 90° to her axis on her stern, the ship should pivot around the centre and start spinning, with the stern going one way and the bow going the other way. Enter WG pepega physics and, no matter where you hit the ship, it moves as if were rigidly connected to yours, being pushed along your route. It seems like WG just assumed any collision would be a T-bone, where you hit the other ship smack in the middle...
      And don't get me started on the formation flying of CV aircraft

    Score Timer is such a useful mod, so many times I'd have made the mistake that Yammie and Iowa did without it to tell me I just need to do nothing to win. They probably could have just run for J1 and been safe for long enough to win, but props to the Slava and Fletcher along with the Gearing. Also, nice to see the majority of the chat NOT being toxic cancer; even when the game looked totally lost, people were being relatively polite and plenty of encouragement when they turned it round. Sometimes I have hope that one day we can be a not-toxic player base.

    I don't think that's what really happened at the A cap. You can see that the two DDs both smoked up and hid the entire enemy team from all the ships waiting to shoot them. And then it seems the Kidd that pushed the Akizuki into torps inside the cap, not someone getting pushed around the island. Once the DDs were dead the enemy DDs kept the friendlies spotted so they could be farmed from cover.

    My issue with, "lemming train not to be confused with a coordinated push" is that its impossible to know which is which until about 5 min in at least.
    The amount of players I see in chat who declare a loss inside of the first 5-10 min of a battle(whether it be on account of a lemming train, or just defeatism in general) is annoying!
    Not so surprising and VERY gratifying to prove them wrong, but still quite aggravating that so many under value patience in a game that tends to reward it. o7

    • @BrianMankin
      @BrianMankin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The two key features of a coordinated push are coordination and an opening to push into. Ships that change map-sides at the start of a game without communication and before the enemy has even been seen are a Leming Train. Leming Trains lose unless the enemy form a leming train of their own.

    • @capthappy8884
      @capthappy8884 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrianMankin even that opinion has too many certainties in it. One of my fav aspects of wows gameplay is the balance of skill AND luck needed to win consistently. Literally tens of thousands of variables that determine a win or a loss.
      Don't get me wrong, what you said is often correct. Just not always. And making that mistake is exactly what my first comment was referencing. o7

    DDs to Slava: We decided to act. We three.
    Slava: But why was it me who lost everything?
    DDs: Because you were the best of us. They wanted to proof that even someone that good can fall.
    Ok, who gets this reference?

    If you are of a certain age (ie about the same age as Jingles) and grew up in the UK, you may recall the poorly animated child safety adverts from the 1970s where the cat meows at length and the boy with him says "Charlie says ......" I can see what you did there Jingles : )

    Everyone cheering the Slava for the kills but no one cheering that the Slava decided to help out in the first place instead of being a lemming.
    +3 for not lemming, +2 for Slava's back needing surgery.

    15:12 yes they had enough time
    It's 3 points every 5 seconds, per cap. That's 36 points per cap per minute, so over 100 per minute (they had 3 caps), and they were less than 500 points behind with 5 minutes on the clock.
