  • Welcome to the tour of our new heifer and dry cow barn! It was built during the summer of 2020! It is a huge upgrade compared to the old barn that stood in its place! My father talks about his doors, windows, gates, pens and more! He goes in depth of why he built or set up things the way he did! I hope you all enjoy the video! Thank you for watching!

This isn't just a barn, it is a work of beauty too! I love the extensive use of Oak, the attention to detail, and the way ye used the old wheels to make the railings surrounding the yard. Truly a project ye can all be justifiably proud of.

@@GierokFarms I love your scale. Very similar to mine although we are beef cattle. This barn is a work of art. Lots of ideas presented in this video. Similarly I spent 2 months planning my beef cattle working facility under a roof. I would visualize working and walking every direction in it and it turned out pretty darn good.

My 10x30x30 barn, is made of mostly salvaged machinery crates at a cost of $2500 . It is used as a workshop and storing VW Vans . I grew up on a farm where I learned to become an engineer . The wood was stored for six years as the work began when I retired .

The "built to slope" concept was the "eye-opener" in this one! What a great idea! Let gravity handle your drainage issues---for FREE! (well, with some thought...not exactly free) The clerestory opening is genius....assuming the builder KNOWS his environment intimately. My own is "pointed" due S and glazed. Overhang computed from !0 to 03 month exposure. I didn't have to compute for a bunch'a hot cows in my house. Excellent video (as usual) thank you for the tour!

I really like your "old school" thought process. That was the way I was raised on the farm - that you used what you had, bought what you needed used (if possible), and did what you could yourself. I see the trend to have everything bright, shiny, and ready to use and I cant imagine the debt load that causes farmers. Thanks for sharing!
