@@JohnFromArlingtron I would guess bands like Abba probably did lip sync performances, but I can't think of any others. I thought the whole idea of the Midnight Special was to see live performances. Can you give me some or even one other example of a lip sync on TMS?

Both the 1978 and 1979 Journey Midnight Special performances too! Brian in Fort Worth 🎶
I'm sure it's a lot of work just resurrecting the original tapes, editing it and putting this on TH-cam. This is already as high quality as you're gonna get from the 70's. It's 1080P but includes the limitations of the equipment back then.
Heart also did White Lightning and Wine on this 1977 show which is extremely rare,I've never seen it on youtube, could u plez post that one too..............THANXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX🙂

Kids these days like jazz, thanks to London Brew, Christian Scott, TCIC, Nubya Garcia, dOMI and JD Beck and more. dOMI could play Giant Steps better than Paul Chambers while also playing the bass with her feet while still a teen. There has never been a better time for new music, its just harder to find because the record labels jumped into bed with streaming services, choosing filthy lucre over artist development.
My prediction is that this type music will increasingly be appreciated by people born in the 21st century...like a huge revival is in store. We will see if I'm right!

Two months later on May 17, 1977 in Indianapolis, Heart headlined over Foreigner and Walter Egan. Their last major concert was opening for Nazareth in Nov 1976. That is a huge jump. If I made any errors, please reply. Thank you. (:

Not always. It was a mixed bag. Some live. Some live vocals over pre-recorded instruments.

Lyrics
Cold, late night so long ago
When I was not so strong you know
A pretty man came to me
I never seen eyes so blue
You know, I could not run away it seemed
We'd seen each other in a dream
Seemed like he knew me, he looked right through me, yeah
"Come on home, girl" he said with a smile
"You don't have to love me yet, let's get high awhile
But try to understand, try to understand
Try, try, try to understand, I'm a magic man"
Winter nights we sang in tune
Played inside the months of moon
"Never think of never let this spell last forever"
Well, summer lover passed to fall
Tried to realize it all
Mama says she's worried, growing up in a hurry
"Come on home, girl" Mama cried on the phone
"Too soon to lose my baby yet, my girl should be at home"
But try to understand, try to understand
Try, try, try to understand, he's a magic man, Mama, ah
He's a magic man
"Come on home, girl" he said with a smile
"I cast my spell of love on you, a woman from a child"
But try to understand, try to understand
Oh, oh, try, try, try to understand,
He's a magic man, oh, he's got the magic hands
Oh's over top
"Come on home, girl" he said with a smile
"You don't have to love me yet, let's get high awhile"
But try to understand, try to understand
Try, try, try to understand, he's a magic man, yeah, oh
