I have a question. I took delivery of my model 3 Performance 2 weeks ago and full self-driving just became available on the 24th. I've noticed that it accelerates in a fairly aggressive manner when in autopilot. I don't mind that so much when merging onto a highway from a standstill into a 55 mph zone, but it isn't necessary all the time and maybe putting unnecessary wear on my tires. Is there a way to set acceleration characteristics for autopilot? I've tried putting the car in chill mode, and that doesn't seem to affect the dynamics. Are there other settings I haven't found yet? I don't really want to drive around and chill mode all the time because I want to have the potential of the acceleration available in case I need it I just don't want to be using it all the time. When in full self-driving or autopilot I really want the experience to be very Serene and when you're on a 30 mile an hour Mountain Road with very severe turns that hard acceleration is not serene. If I want to go quick I'll drive. I'm getting some video to show what I'm talking about and I'll post it here if you want to see what I'm talking about.

v11 runs on the highway. That weird thing where it slowed down to 40 just to change lanes on the highway has been happening to me at a couple of places on the 101 since v11 came out. I'm hoping that whenever v12 gets pushed over to the highway stack it fixes itself. There is a specific spot on the 134 in Los Angeles where it stays in the HOV lane late and then will break from like 70mph to 40mph just to exit the HOV lane and then it guns it back to 70mph. It's the worst. I never thought that city streets would become more comfortable than the highway, but in my case that is exactly what v12 did. I'm currently on 12.3.6 i think, and the city streets drive is way more comfortable than when it switches to v11 for highway
@@sludogI don’t know what you mean. Are you asking for a timeframe of when the highway stack is updated to v12 FSD? Nice Video, I have owned 4 BMW's and then instead of replacing the BMW with another BMW I replaced it with a Tesla Model Y. Yes FSD was a major reason I considered the Tesla. Every long trip to the daughter's house makes me enjoy it! Even work which is a 72-mile round trip. I agree that with 12.3.6, let it get you close and take over. I also know that entering the Interstate can be tricky so I usually take control and get the car into the HOV and turn it back to FSD. Sometimes if traffic is lighter I let it exit. I find the right lane can be dangerous with people merging, and stopping for no reason so I prefer to stay out till I'm close enough, sometimes FSD wants to ride in the right lane far too long for me.
I tried it and “meh”. Hard to teach myself to relax. And it’s a lil quirky still, it took off like hell in one instance. I’m fine w the basics for now. Kinda miss Arizona, lived in Glendale for a bit.
Ok so if there’s one thing I’ve learned as having EAP on my ‘18 …is that it wants to hide in a corner whenever it sees a road cone/construction. I wish it did that with people and not road cones.
I live in the East Valley - go AZ… Thinking about paying $2K to upgrade my Enhanced Autopilot to FSD on my 2018 M3P. What do you think? I had a Tesla loaner for a week with FSD. I enjoyed it. Thinking it might be worth it. Planning to have this Tesla for 3 more years.
I don't know about your comment regarding "keeping it perfectly centered in the lane" (@ the 19:48 mark). In my experience with release 2024.3.25 on my 2021 M3LR, it continually hugs the left side of the lane, almost on the painted strip, which makes it a bit dangerous. Maybe newer models have better camera play.
1.35 million people die every year due to car crashes. Each day, over 500 children die in a car accident. Car crashes are the leading cause of death among young people aged 15 to 29, and many of them are caused by drunk/distracted drivers. Full self driving is absolutely something that benefits the world in massive ways. If it ever became so autonomous that you could be asleep in the backseat, that would be such a game changer for society. I don't agree with your comment about "fixing other things first". Plus, we can get drunk wherever/whenever we want without worrying!
The lyrics are actually, "I hear the secrets that you keep when you're talking in your sleep". Anyway, this may be the first video I have watched on this channel, and I am impressed. I didn't have to turn volume off at the beginning, the information was great, off topic commentary was entertaining, editing was great, no annoying music/sound effects. This is what TH-cam is suposed to be.
It's funny about the 'being polite to AI'. I practice this by being nice to ChatGPT [which isn't AI as yet, but I'm setting the mood] and occasionally I'll suggest that it be less polite back, and it's really good at complying. We wish each other a great day afterwards.
I was really impressed with FSD free trial on MYLR, a couple of weird hiccups but overall we are in the future... Drove from Phoenix to Flagstaff with minimal intervention
My experience with FSD with a HW4 Model Y, is that it’s a great tool in moderate to hxy traffic and as you say in large format situations. On smaller secondary roads and residential streets, my experience is that it’s more work than just driving yourself. It’s a 2K product in my book, so I won’t pay 8K for it.
13:40 Your video adds so much value to my life. I know divorces are expensive, thanks to you, not any more! I'm going to recommend divorces to all of my friends. Thank You.
Dang I should have gotten the new model. But a used one was in my budget. Still love it. Suspension can be a bit rough at times. I did like fsd i miss it . Ill subcribe occasionally. Maybe. Hehe. No more gas stations.
I've not subscribed to fsd and on occasions uses the assisted, there has been a update and the latest gave me a scare its going over the lane markers and applying emergency brakes to unseen obstacles and I wonder is it a ploy to force one to fsd subscription or purchase?
Been using FSD daily on my commute the last few weeks and has been woking great. Awesome on highways although sometimes it rides the passing lane a little long when passing slower vehicles and I'll have to move car over with blinker when cars are close behind. Another grip I have and this is the same with auto steer is that when traveling on roads without center median divider you cannot adjust a set speed limit like on highways. FSD is a bit better than auto steer because FSD will keep pace with cars around you but its not consistent. Im guessing this may be locked in because of safety if your or another car crosses over center line.
I tried the FSD on our 2023 MYP when it was free for a month, driving in the Palm Springs area. It did amazing well in some pretty tricky traffic situations, very few mistakes. Do I need it, no. I won't be subscribing to it.

I find the right lane can be dangerous with people merging, and stopping for no reason so I prefer to stay out till I'm close enough, sometimes FSD wants to ride in the right lane far too long for me.
FLAWED SELF DRIVING couldnt even go 100 yards without being disengaged in LV - meh
I am paying 99 Y & I have the old old old ver my best friend got the new new ver 3 as a trial. I am 5 vers behind and I am paying
Im seeing impaired and this would get me road tripping again. Husband n wife law team ! Can tell yr in phx😂
You are not funny. You are embarrassing yourself. Just do the review, what you are good at.
Let’s gooo!!!!
Apology for looking good made my day! Lol
Hey Ryan, you look hotter than I remember. Probably because you’re in Phoenix.
I tried it and “meh”. Hard to teach myself to relax. And it’s a lil quirky still, it took off like hell in one instance. I’m fine w the basics for now. Kinda miss Arizona, lived in Glendale for a bit.
Love this guy! I had to rewind when I heard Ryan Reynolds here 😂
Congratulations on your success. I'm eager to watch all of your shows.
He is just hilarious and damn he’s lookin good in this vid!
Ok so if there’s one thing I’ve learned as having EAP on my ‘18 …is that it wants to hide in a corner whenever it sees a road cone/construction.
I wish it did that with people and not road cones.
I live in the East Valley - go AZ…
Thinking about paying $2K to upgrade my Enhanced Autopilot to FSD on my 2018 M3P.
When Tesla makes FSD transferable to my next Tesla vehicle then I'd be interested in FSD. Until then, not blowing away $8K for a one time use.
Ryan Reynolds should only look as good as you.
The B-Roll for the CUTS promo was fire my dude haha!
Also I live in Scottsdale and that Broadway curve construction is awful
haha we did our best!
For those curious this is v12.3.6
NOT 12.4 (sad face)
Love the insertion of local humor & commentary. "How about The Husband & Wife Law Team". If you're here, you know.
But can it handle kangaroos ?
The next update will remove steering wheel nudge if vehicle has interior camera Should be out in a week or two and will be awesome for long roadtrips.
Another banger video
8:53 looks like construction zone probably should be going slower
I thought hotdogs were made of lips and a-holes, not plastic!! Good to know!
you re calling it the ''' highland ''' because thats what it called lol
Wait, what?!? No one cares about the same old FSD video.
Where was that Highland sticker located?
You cared enough to watch and comment lmao
@donkeytonks6466 I watch all of Ryan Reynolds videos.
In the new highland
BWW is trash. Come on.
Thomas George donated it, duh, LOL... no? Great vid like always!
I tried the FSD on our 2023 MYP when it was free for a month, driving in the Palm Springs area. It did amazing well in some pretty tricky traffic situations, very few mistakes. Do I need it, no. I won't be subscribing to it.
Palm Springs? Try it in LA during rush hour, or up north in San Jose. Lots of mistakes, human interventions are required.
Camera should have been on the street and screen so we could see how’s it working. Instead, the camera is on you for most of the video 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Good review 😂👍 I drive about 150 km 4 days a week mostly highway in 🇨🇦 The fsd is awesome on the highway and getting better in the city.
its trash in LV - lol
Ugh, that was more about you than an FSD evaluation.
how do u break the habit of saying LIKE all the time
0:01 so freaky, I was about to make the same comparison!
When can I get drunk and let the car drive itself?
You are a sarcastic son of the what ? But I like you.
You look like Matt Watson except a little younger
how come it's not NAGGING hands on the wheel
why the blue tapes on the front ?
You should have worked spine instead of trauma.a lot less call
Yea the more I got into the job the more I understood other roles were better haha
9:39 No you look like steven ogg but less aggressive
Great channel. Also a PHX area local
